Lipstick -MAC - Velvet Teddy

Love this lipstick. It's been my go-to ever since I bought it a couple months ago. I would never have picked up this lipstick on my own - it looks really unremarkable in the tube - but after hearing good things about it, I went to give it a try. On my NC25-30 skin, this is just slightly darker than my natural lips and is a gorgeous MLBB nude. This is perfect for pretty much any look, and whenever I'm feeling lazy or just don't know what lip color to use, this is the one I pick up - it matches everything. This is my first matte lipstick from MAC, and the formula is not drying on me at all. In fact, I think I actually prefer that it's matte - it lasts longer and the color deposits more intensely that way. Would definitely repurchase.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Total Intensity Eyeliner Deepest Black
rated 4 of 5

These are creamy, pigmented, don't irritate my eyes, and last as well as MAC liners - although I've had problems in the past where I would buy a liner and discover that the "lead" has detached from the plastic part and is rattling around loose. (it's kind of hard to describe, but basically you can pull the liner out of the surrounding black part.) I had to go exchange it, and the new one is *still* kind of loose, but useable. That aside, it's a great liner and I would probably repurchase anyway (since I can always return if the same problem happens).

Eyeliner -GOSH - Velvet Touch Eyeliner
rated 5 of 5
kisstheradio 10/7/2011 12:06:00 AM

These are creamy but not too creamy, pigmented, come in both bright and neutral colors, don't irritate my eyes, and last as well as MAC liners. These *are* slightly expensive for drugstore liners, but they're a much more wallet-friendly alternative than high-end brands.

Polishes -GOSH - Nail Polish
rated 5 of 5
kisstheradio 10/7/2011 12:01:00 AM

I adore GOSH nail polishes. They are the fastest-drying nail polishes I own, although there's not that many color options and it's slightly expensive considering the amount of product you get. (Which isn't a big deal usually, but I have a few GOSH polishes that I love and are already running out.) I just wait for sales though. I have the shades Miss Sweety, Miss Mole, Silver, and Peachy.

Blush -NARS - Angelika
rated 4 of 5

Bought this a little while ago and I like it. Personally, it's not a color that I can just slap on every day - it's a little cool-toned on my NC25 skin - but it's very pigmented, and the the glitter is pretty without being over the top. The packaging is sturdy and gorgeous (just wipe it down if you get fingerprints/makeup on it). I won't be rebuying this color because I'll probably never run out, but I'll definitely be looking into other NARS blushes in the future.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lip Gloss (general)

Greatest drugstore gloss ever! These are pigmented, smooth, and not sticky at all when I apply it over lip balm. What's not to love?

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Liquid Liner in Smog
rated 4 of 5
kisstheradio 10/6/2011 10:15:00 PM

This is a gorgeous color, although I wish it was just a little bit darker because it tends to blend into my eyeshadow sometimes depending on the look I'm doing. That said, I do have problems controlling the brush - probably just because I'm still not that great with liquid liner, having mostly used gel or pencil until now. Hopefully I get the hang of this soon! I probably won't buy this again though, because it *is* quite expensive, and like I said, I'm still having problems with the brush, so I don't get nearly as much use as I could be getting out of it.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 5 of 5
kisstheradio 10/6/2011 10:14:00 PM

I'd give this a 4.5 if I could. I love all the darker colors, and this is a great neutral palette - but I find that the lighter colors aren't as flattering on me. Still, minor complaints aside, love this palette. The only reason I've put "no" for rebuy is because a.) I doubt I'll ever use up this palette, and b.) even if I did, I like to try new palettes rather than rebuy the same one over and over.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - KOJI - Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner
rated 3 of 5

I'm sort of puzzled, because nearly all the reviews I've read says that this product stays put and does not budge after it dries, but for me? It smudges and fades really easily. In fact, I made a few lines on my wrist when I was testing it out, and when I rubbed at the lines a little, they immediately faded away. Maybe I got a bad batch? (Although I actually bought this when I was in Tokyo, so I would've expected the product to be pretty "fresh" and not have been in storage for a long time.) Also, after a while, I started getting uneven lines, even though I hadn't even used the product that much. ): So sad this didn't work out for me.

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Gel Creamliner (all)
rated 4 of 5
kisstheradio 10/6/2011 8:39:00 PM

These are creamy and lovely and easy-to-apply. I have the trio for brown eyes, and they all work very well. While they *do* smudge if I've been wearing them for a long time/rubbing my eyes, they still perform very well considering the price and amount of product. The little cubes are adorable - I bought mine ~6 months ago and none of them have dried out or anything. The only reason I wouldn't buy these again is because I'm curious as to how they compare to the MAC fluidline, so I'll probably be picking that up after I run out instead. Still, these are a great budget buy, especially if you wait until they're on sale. (I think I got mine for 40% off at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada.)

Mascara -FairyDrops - FAIRYDROPS Mascara
rated 4 of 5
kisstheradio 10/6/2011 8:33:00 PM

I have the waterproof, "volume burst" version of this mascara (purple tube) which I picked up in Tokyo. Like most tubing mascaras I've tried, it's not that great with building volume, but it gives long, clean, and clump-free lashes, which is good enough for me. It's actually pretty waterproof too - I use an oil-based makeup remover to get it off.

Powder -New York Color - Smooth Skin Pressed Powder
rated 4 of 5
kisstheradio 10/6/2011 8:24:00 PM

It's cheap, and it works. I wish I could give this a 3.5. I have oily skin and use this as an all-over-the-face setting powder. It's not that great at oil control, but at the price, I can't complain. I find if I apply this with the wrong brush, sometimes my face can look a little chalky - but mostly, it works fine. I'm NC25 and use the 'translucent' shade - it doesn't seem to change the color of my face or anything.

Liquid -Fasio - Fit and Stay Liquid Foundation
rated 4 of 5
kisstheradio 10/6/2011 7:39:00 PM

I love this foundation. It's very liquid-y, and it's one of those foundations you can just apply very very quickly on a busy morning, unlike some of my other heavier-coverage foundations that requires a lot more blending time. This is light-medium coverage on me and covers redness well. It's not exactly long-lasting, I admit, but it feels really nice and light-weight on my skin. The biggest con is probably lack of color section - I picked up shade 110 because it was the only one that even remotely looked like my color. Luckily for me, it's a pretty good match.

Lipstick -Revlon - Pink in the Afternoon
rated 5 of 5
kisstheradio 10/4/2011 4:06:00 PM

A gorgeous, creamy lipstick. It's not drying at all, and it's this lovely warm pink color. I probably won't buy this shade again, just because I don't use it everyday (I find that it's actually fairly bright on my lips) and so I probably won't use it up any time soon, but I would definitely buy other lipsticks from the Super Lustrous range.

Concealers -Revlon - PhotoReady Concealer SPF 20
rated 4 of 5
kisstheradio 10/4/2011 4:02:00 PM

Creamy and lovely. I got this as a bonus when I bought another Revlon product, and wasn't expecting much, but it surprised me. I use the shade 003 "light medium" (I'm an NC25), and although it's not the best concealer I've used, it does a pretty good job, considering it's a drugstore product. I use it for both brightening up the undereye area and on spots, although it's probably more suited for the latter, since it has a tendency to settle into fine lines sometimes in the eye area. That's not a dealbreaker for me though.
