Horrible vile stuff to remove!! 4 times I had to go over my nails with strong nail polish remover...the gummy mess just kept spreading all over. I still have bits on my fingers and under my nails as I angrily type this review!! Take it off the shelves!!

Cleansers -Avene - deep pore foaming cleanser
kissacid 5/25/2007 7:31:00 AM
My new HG. I used to use LRP till i discovered Avene. This cleanser has a nice foam that you need to work up a bit. It has everything I need a nd look for in a cleanser. Very subtle fragrance, almost non existent. I can't stand anything 'perfume-y' on my face. It rinses quick and clean, removes makeup and grime in one wash. Personally I don't experience any tightness after using it. I have very oily, slightly sensitive skin. History of acne, but no longer...thanks to Avene's Diacneal. No other high end brand can sway me from Avene. worth every penny

Skincare - Face -DDF - Glycolic 10% Exfoliating Oil Control Gel
kissacid 9/30/2005 3:35:00 AM
Just to make sure, my review is for the 10% Glycolic Oil Control gel with 2% Salycilic acid. This is the one and only skincare product I will NEVER change in my routine. Although I've pretty much found a cleanser I love, I can't say I'd stick to it - but this product is MIRACLE for me. It dramatically changed the appearance of my complexion. I have (HAD!) very oily skin, with enlarged clogged pores esp around my nose. Breakouts along my jaw that scarred badly and took months to fade - even if i never picked at them. It's all changed within a month. the scars are barely seen, my pores are clear thus appear smaller, my oiliness has reduced a lot, and my breakouts are under control. Although there is not much i can do about the occasional zit during my period, at least the gel keeps it/them small, heal quickly and leaves no scar behind!! NEVER NEVER in a million years would I have thought I could leave the house with only sunscreen and light dust of MAC's Blot Powder...that's it!! no concealor and heavy foundations. I never knew that my skin needed more than just granular scrubs. I was obviously not responding to any kind of physical exfoliation...but i didn't know any better. I figured AHAs were best for dry, sun damaged skin. The fact that this has BHA as well, works wonders for us oily skin girls and keeps blemishes under control, while the AHA does the brightening and smoothing. I don't care how much it costs, it's worth every penny. One pump is enough for my whole face, and it dries smooth never sticky. Combine this with the weekly Sulphur Mask and you are set for glowing clear skin.

Styling Products -Phyto - Phytodefrisant
kissacid 8/2/2005 9:39:00 AM
This is a great product, but not for me. It really does control frizz and flyaways, and gives shine. But I have curly hair and it doesn't help to hold my curls together. Makes my hair too fluffy which I hate. Not frizzy, just fluffy! lol. Sebastian Potion No.9 is perfect for me. If you have straight or slightly wavy hair phyto would be great. But curly girls, you'll LOVE Potion No.9

Hard to squeeze out when it's about to finish, so I minused one lippie for packaging. Other than that, I LOVE this. It looks like a light gel, but really needs minimal application. Use too much and you may get some heaviness or 'crunch'. It helped heal my dried out hair that was chemically straightened. I love that it's a styling product that truly conditions hair at the same time. If you have thick curly hair like me, it's a godsend. Really forms my curls, no frizz and a great soft hold. smells nice and 'beachy' to me. I've tried Phyto's Relaxing Balm - but doesn't hold a candle to this.

Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Cleanse- Tea Tree Special Shampoo
kissacid 8/2/2005 9:21:00 AM
My HG shampoo. My mom gave this to me to try as a teen. As a beauty product junkie, I always stray to try something new. Sometimes for over a year I don't use this, then when I eventually use it again - I always kick myself thinking "why do I bother changing shampoos?!" My naturally curly hair is growing out from a short style and was chemically straightened. I last used TIGI's Catwalk Honey Oatmeal, and that stuff RAVAGED my hair - it got so dry even my hair stylist was surprised how bad the TIGI stuff was.Plus, my scalp was clogged and itchy. I couldn't even feel clean from the TIGI build-up. I went back to Tea Tree and my other fav, The Detangler conditioner. Now I have my shiny bouncy curls back. This shampoo rinses out squeaky clean, but never tangled. I can safely use leave-in products and I don't get any itchy build-up while I'm using this. And I LOVE the minty tingling all over my scalp. On extra hot days I use it all over my hair and body. it's unbelievably refreshing.

Gels/Soaps -Olay - Complete Moisturizing Body Wash
kissacid 8/2/2005 9:07:00 AM
I only wish this came in a pump bottle. Other than that, this is in my top rated HG body washes - along with Neutrogena's Rainbath, Crabtree & Evelyn's Jojoba Oil wash and the Original Source's whole range of shower gels. Fabulous stuff - it smells better than and works better than Dove for me. I find Dove to have a cloying scent and leaves a heavy emollient behind. The Olay moisturises just as well as Dove, but it rinses clean (I use Normal skin) and smells heavenly. The scent lasts well on my skin too. The soap version of this is the ONLY soap I can use, that doesn't irritate/dry me and doesn't aggravate my mild exczema.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist
kissacid 8/2/2005 8:55:00 AM
Thank god I got this for free...The first week or two, I thought it was freaking amazing. I guess I was decieved by the way it made my skin feel, especially with makeup gliding over it. Now I dislike it with a vengeance. It hasn't done anything it claims to do. No skin improvements or clarity. In fact I feel more clogged up than before. Any zits I get have become incredibly stubborn, and my pores are most definitely enlarged. it's a glamourised silcone lotion. It would probably get glowing reviews if it was released as a makeup primer - but it certainly does NOTHING for your complexion. Clinique's Total Turnaround is WAY better.

Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Clear Difference Oil-Control Hydrator
kissacid 8/2/2005 8:45:00 AM
This really does help to control my crazy oily face. The best I've used ever! I still have to blot a little in the day, but I don't get as shiny all over like I used to. No breakouts at all, after over a month of use. It does give me some hydration, but not alot. This would be an amazing product for a 20-something, but am 30 now and realise despite my oily skin I need more hydration. I've tried other products that really plump and hydrate me, but leave a greasy mess after a few hours. So am really happy with this for now, till I find something with better hydration but with the same oil control.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - Moisture Surge Eye Gel
kissacid 8/2/2005 7:53:00 AM
Expensive for an eye gel. I do like it though. I will get milia from any eye cream I've used, so finding a gel formula that hydrates and diminishes fine lines is tough. Most gels work mainly on puffy, tired eyes and give some hydration-but only while you have it on. This really seems to improve the skin itself. doesn't ever feel sticky even if I apply generously on 'extra tired' days. Sinks in very well, and doesn't alter or shift my eye concealor. What I love the most is I can use it as an eye mask too, and I won't wake up with pillow puff eyes in the morning - something that most eye gels do to me. As I get older it'll probably be insufficient, but for now(am 30) it's the best thing yet! We'll see if I still love it after I've tried Biotherm's Age Fitness Serum for the eyes - I'll finish this one first, though...

Sunscreen -Stila - Angel light UV base SPF30
kissacid 8/2/2005 7:36:00 AM
OMG. The amount of shimmer in this is pretty crazy. Bad enough SPFs tend to leave a sheen anyway. Oily skinned girls stay far away! Pretty dubious about the protection it gives, there isn't any ingredient list on the tube - It was given to me without a box. Doesn't say anything about it being broad spectrum, or offering any UVA protection. Made my skin itch in areas. I tried the Lilac one, since it looked less shimmery than the others - more opalescent. if i am not careful with blending, i'll actually get purple patches on my skin! Glowing, not. Gloworm, yes.

Loose Powders -T. LeClerc - Loose Powder in Banane
kissacid 6/15/2005 4:02:00 PM
Ugh...Expensive is an understatement!! And the packaging is the worst!! But I need this!! LOL... it controls oil like nothing else, and tones down my ruddy cheeks. It's star quality is it's ability to make a zit almost vanish. i just blob the powder over a concealed zit...let it set in a while and dust off the excess, and the angry zit is hidden for the whole day! argh!! but it's so expensive! and so clumsy to handle! but it works like magic!

My fav so far, does not dull my skin or change color when i get oily. it's very light and fine in texture yet has great color and coverage. I only wish it controlled oil as well as the leclerc powders.
