the only foundations i've tried from chanel are the vitalumiere, vitalumiere aqua, pro lumiere and this one. i have to say out of all those, the vitalumiere is the only one i've found successful for me. however, that will be another review. the perfection lumiere is not exactly the complete opposite of the other foundations chanel carries. since people are claiming that it is quite matte, i don't believe so. it does have a satiny finish but just not as apparent as their other foundations. the feel of this is actually quite comparative to the giorgio armani lasting silk uv foundation but the look is different. i have normal to dry skin with a bit of oiliness throughout the day, and when i applied this it emphasized every dry, line that i have. i know that other reviewers have said to use this with a heavy moisturizer to get the look right, but i feel like i shouldn't have to. a foundation is either going to work for your skin, or it's not. and this didn't for me. so no i would not recommend this to anyone.
Eye Shadow -Giorgio Armani - Eyes to Kill Intense #6 Khaki Pulse
kimnn16 8/19/2011 11:53:00 PM
i love that this color is multi-dimensional. in some lights, it looks as if i have a smokey eye going on, and other times it looks like a natural color that adds more depth to my eyes. i swatched this on my hand also and i am normally clumsy, and it hasn't smeared. i applied this over 6 hours ago as well. i find that this is best applied with fingers rather than a brush. when i use this wet or dry it provides the same pigmentation, which is very good because it proves how intense it shows up on skin. i've tried comparing this to many other colors but none have come close. therefore i'd purchase this again.
Highlighters -Christian Dior - Shimmer Powder 002 Amber Diamond, Spring 08
kimnn16 8/19/2011 11:49:00 PM
you could really do without this product, there are many highlighters/eyeshadows that are cheaper and can put the same amount of color for highlight. it's nice to have, but not a must-have.
Liquid -Yves Saint Laurent - TEINT RESIST Long Wear Transfer Resistant Foundation

when i first tried this product, 2 months prior i actually hated it. i couldn't wait to return it and i didn't see what was so great about it. i tried it out again on a whim (i wear shade 4), i love it. it is the perfect match for me. i have dry skin and i apply this with a stippling brush and it is amazing, if i need more coverage since i have acne scarring and a couple of acne bumps i need to conceal, i just apply more and it does not look cakey. i've worn this for more than 7+ hours and when it disappears, it doesn't look like another patch of my skin atop of my skin. it's actually the most flattering foundation for me after a long period of wearing it.
i bought this product in the winter and i have to say it was an okay foundation. it made my skin dewy which i like. it also stayed for an ample amount of time. imho, you should wear this in cooler seasons than hot because it will for sure melt off your skin no matter if you set it or not. one major point for this foundation though is the pump. it is the best foundation pump compared to all the other foundations i have tried. you can definitely control how much you want to pump out the bottle.
honestly this tinted moisturizer is cheap and for the price, it delivers quite well. feels light also and does not irritate my dry skin and does not accentuate my dry skin.
Loose Powders -Chanel - Poudre Universelle Libre Translucent 2
kimnn16 6/11/2011 1:16:00 AM
you could do without this product. i wore it before work, 4 hours after.. the powder looks as if it hadn't set my foundation or blush at all. it just sat on top of my skin which did not look appealing whatsoever. i have heard of comparisons between this laura mercier translucent powder and for the cost, i recommend you get that instead if you're looking for a cheaper alternative.
i can't find anything wrong with this blush imho. this is definitely a "if you prefer" blush. its a matte finish, and it is quite powdery. whenever i dip my 129 or any blush brush into this i can easily pick up product and i see it on the brush. its a nice pinkish toned town peachish color that's more on the pink side but a more darker pink vs a standard pink color. i hope that makes sense, on my nc30 skin, it shows up a nice pink peach color.
Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation

i'm in the middle with this foundation. when i bought this oct. of last year i really loved it and thought it was wonderful. i'm starting to believe that the only reason i loved it so much was because that was when i started using non-drug store foundations. i have acne prone skin, with some scarring and some bumps when woman time comes around.. and when i apply this foundation on top of it, i think its just a really matte finish for me and just doesn't make my skin look lively at all. it doesn't emphasize any dry patches i may have(i have combo skin that is more on the dry side). the main positive thing i love is that this photographs wonderfully. no problems in photos whatsoever but in person my skin doesn't look appealing! so i'm going to have to just give this 3 lippies.
this is pretty much perfect for anything cream-based. its really multi-purpose for me. i use this mainly for foundation. the way that it applies foundation reminds me a lot of the 109 from mac. however this 130 brush seems to move around the crevices of your face easier like around the nose area, around the eyes. or if you are concentrating on a certain area because of hyper pigmentation or blemishes, anything like that...i feel its wonderful for that as well. definitely a product you should check out!
Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Nude Hydrating Makeup SPF 10 [DISCONTINUED]
kimnn16 5/29/2010 12:23:00 AM
when i first used this about 2 years ago, i fell in love with it. i was using this along with glycolic acid as a toner which flattened out any bumps i had and made this foundation go on smoothly. however, glycolic acid started immensely drying out my skin so i had to quit using it. when i continued wearing my nude foundation, i finally tested it out in different lighting, and my skin absolutely looked horrific. the color wasn't right for me and i've tried matching many colors from this. it was going on patchy, as well and i was better off showing my natural skin with the few acne scars that i had than with this on top. bottom line: that scared me and i wouldn't ever buy this again unfortunately.
Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Sun Protecting Lip Balm SPF 8 with Passionfruit
kimnn16 5/29/2010 12:11:00 AM
i'm only giving this lippie because of the price and packaging. simple easy. however, the product itself does not work for me whatsoever. it does smell like passionfruit but its more of a powdery scent of passion fruit. what made me want to buy this, is because of how many good things i've heard about it for chapped lips. but when i tried it on me, it just made my lips white and sat on top of my cracked lips. chapstick that doesn't get rid of chapped lips? i returned this back to the drugstore.
Styling Products -L'Oreal - L'Oreal Elnett Extra StrongHold UV Hair Spray - 11 oz.
kimnn16 5/29/2010 12:07:00 AM
the reason i got this hairspray was because i read in allure magazine, in an issue kinda long ago(can't remember which month) but i read that on the runways, they used this on the models. and those models change their hair so often and it stays so well when they're on the runways so i decided why not try it? so i bought it and i really do love it. i believe the trick is to make sure you spray it further away from your hair otherwise its just going to be too much product in that specific area, and plus the scent won't be very pleasant. speaking of the scent, thats why i docked off a lippie. i can't explain the scent, but i know that if you spray it further away it is like a powdery scent which is more pleasant than if you were to spray it up close. this does give me instant volume and actually stays and is flexible at the same time. love it!
i had been looking for a peachy/bronzey blush that made me look a bit more glowy/and bring a bit more color to my face and this does just that. this blush definitely wakes my skin up and i love how pigmented nars blushes can be. a little does go along way. i find myself reaching for this very often. i would repurchase again and again. i love nars packaging however i wish that it wouldn't pick up any particles so easily(if product gets towards the case it will pretty much stay, so be careful with it!). the pricing is understandable, it is nars..
Mascara -Yves Saint Laurent - Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
kimnn16 5/6/2010 12:33:00 AM
my lashes are very short so i'm constantly looking for a wonder product that does my lashes some magic. i think i might have just found it, really. i've tried the singulier and the everlong and those just don't cut it for me. when i applied this on my bare lashes(after curling of course) they immediately lifted and appeared fuller. this has given me the most length out of any high-end mascara that i've tried. i really love it and will continue to purchase.
