Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - Sunflowers

?!)(#$(@Q$# Sorry for the expletives, but I forgot all about this nightmare until a friend brought it up tonight as one of her all time favorites. I had thought that Clinique Happy and CK Obsession were my top 2 migraine nausea producers, but darn if she didn't remind me of this stuff... I, quite literally, had to go home early from work years ago when a girl who sat near me wore this. A killer migraine came on, and I was sick to my stomach. It took 3 or 4 days to figure the culprit. Once I did, it was not pretty. She didn't want to stop wearing it, but was forced to by management. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who had complained. Yes, she may have worn too much...but this is just one of those scents that inspires love or TRUE and unabashed hatred. It brings out the evil in me if I get a whiff. Sorry to those who love it...body chemistry is what it is, though. I'm just here to say there are people who will literally want to -kill- you if you wear this around them. Ahem.

Fragrances -Kenzo - Flower
kimberly73 12/2/2006 2:38:00 AM
My poor mom brought this home to me as a gift when she went home to England, not knowing it was all over the states. She spent even more there for it than the (too expensive) cost here. Overall, I like it because it is a unique smell. I am a big fan of unique. However, I'm not a big fan of florals overall, and while it has a good hint of the spicy-amber-oriental tones that I enjoy, the primary flower scent just overpowers it. My mom absolutely loves it and has bought it for herself twice now. So...it's one of those perfumes that is popular for a reason. There are plenty of people who love it. If you enjoy flower scents, particularly looking for one that isn't like most of the common ones out there, you'll probably love this.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Lotion
kimberly73 12/2/2006 2:32:00 AM
I have always enjoyed this scent. I don't tend to wear it during the day, since it is really really (really) sweet, but it is a fabulous night time after shower -cuddling w/ someone- scent. I'm pretty hyped that I just discovered the Exotic Coconut...for those who haven't tried this one yet, it is warm vanilla sugar but toned down with a slight coconut twist. Yah, you wouldn't think the two would be so alike, but test them side by side and you'll see. :)

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Aromatherapy lotion in Orange Ginger
kimberly73 12/2/2006 2:14:00 AM
Got a sample 2 oz. of this to try. Not a big citrus scent fan, but the idea of ginger intrigued me. Well, the citrus (orange) overpowers the ginger, and I guess (for me), it just isn't a great combination to begin with. If you love really strong citrus smells, you will like this very much. If you are not a citrus fan, you will definitely not.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Exotic Coconut
kimberly73 12/2/2006 2:08:00 AM
I like this scent very much. However, it needs to be re-named. It smells NOTHING like coconuts what-so-ever. I got a 2 oz. bottle delivered, and was racking my brain trying to figure out 'Where have I smelled this before?' Then...like someone was guiding me, I went into my bathroom, pulled out my bottle of B&BW 'Warm Vanilla Sugar', and walla! That was it. This "exotic coconut", my friends, is warm vanilla sugar with a *oh-so-slight* difference. Comparing the two side-by-side, I could finally pick up a twinge of coconut in there (more like suntan lotion or strangely enough, chlorine from an indoor swimming pool?) I have a really sensitive nose. Sorry. Again, it's a lovely scent...but a more accurate title would be "warm vanilla coconut sugar'. :)

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Japanese Cherry Blossom-lotion

Very nice... Got this delivered today (ordered a bunch of BBW online during T-giving sale). I was going to give away as an xmas stocking stuffer...2 oz. bath, 2 oz. lotion...I got the perfume for free for spending more than $30.00 - Well, this is mine all mine. I gotta keep it. I was hoping I'd like it, but was not optimistic. My signature fragrance over the past year or so has been Lancome Hypnose and I was convinced I'd never find another fragrance I wanted to wear again... When I first dabbled the lotion on, I didn't care for it. As it softened, however, it smelled...heavenly. Soft, powdery...I love it. It really lasts, too. I can still smell the same dabble from hours ago. This one is a keeper. As expensive as Lancome Hypnose is, this is a GREAT alternative for me. I'm very happy. I love oriental-inspired scents. This is actually a great day wear which can go into night. I found my Hypnose was really best used at night. Oh, I just love when I find something I like since it rarely happens. Yay!!!

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Moonlight Path Body Splash
kimberly73 12/2/2006 1:52:00 AM
This is one of those 'why me?' moments. Years ago, a waitress I worked with would walk by and I would practically drool behind her until I finally asked what she was wearing. She told me 'Moonlit Path'. Of course, I immediatley ran out and bought the whole set...bath, lotion, spray. Okay...WHY do some fragrances smell amazing on some and terrible on others. It did not work with my chemistry at all. Probably one of my biggest fragrance disappointments, besides Perry Ellis 360 going from amazing on me to disgusting - out of nowhere. Seriously, does anyone know why this happens? I know this Moonlit Path is an amazing scent for those whose chemistry works with it. Lucky girls!

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - True Blue Spa Island Get Away Tahiti Sweetie Body Lotion with Monoi Oil
kimberly73 12/2/2006 1:47:00 AM
Just received this today. Ordered a bunch of B&BW stuff online when they had thier big sale over Thanksgiving weekend. I'm glad I only got the small 2 oz. sizes, and I'm glad I got them to give as xmas stuffers.... Pew!!! Sorry. Put it this way, if you really *love* super sweet citrus (mango? passion fruit?) smells, then you will like this a lot. I hate strong citrus fruit scents. I can't say anything about how it works, since I am giving them away and didn't use them, but the smell was alone to convince me I couldn't put it on my skin. Seems like something targed at teens (absolute oldest), to little girls - who would probably enjoy it a lot.

Fragrances -Clinique - Happy
kimberly73 11/24/2006 7:51:00 PM
Okay, I will admit first of all I have never purchased this fragrance. Point of my review is...I don't have to purchase it, because I have smelled it on so many women for years now. Fortunately, it seems the popularity is dying. I suppose this is one of those chemistry-things. All I can say is it immediately gives me a sharp headache if I get one whiff. I am NOT sensitive to smells, and have rarely had this happen with perfumes. It is not simply because I don't like the smell. Only two fragrances have given me this immediate-get out of the room now-response: Happy, and Obsession. They must be made with the same (whatever) it is that stings the brain. I only write this review for those out there who (like me) don't like to wear stuff that can actually make others sick. Although many women like it, I have yet to find any man who does. A girl at my old job wore it daily and did not bathe in it. Even so, the guys in our office would make noticeable faces of disapproval and actually avoid her. Not sure they got the instant headache I always did, but it was off-putting for sure.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm

Ouch. That's the feeling I'm left with after I use this balm. It irritates the sensitive skin on lips, and leaves them chapped. Never again.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
kimberly73 11/24/2006 7:42:00 PM
I've had problem, sensitive skin for years. I was advised to use this by dermatologists, etc. All I can say is this...YES, it is wonderful for sensitive skin. It does not irritate or dry out your skin. But I have found the magic reason why: it does not CLEAN your skin. It does not contain soap, I have found. Well, without soap...you can't clean. Period. I've tried varities of this product, all with the same results. I don't feel clean afterwards. I'll use a cotton ball after with an astringent to test how clean my face is, and I always end up with dirt on the ball (?!) No more...I need a product that is gentle but actually DOES something at the same time.

Fragrances -Perry Ellis - 360 Degrees for Women
kimberly73 11/24/2006 7:36:00 PM
I am saddened to say that I cannot try to purchase this fragrance anymore. When I say 'try', I mean that I keep trying to find the same wonderful fragrance this perfume used to be. When this first came out, I got a bottle for xmas. It turned out to be my signature fragrance for awhile. Strangers constantly asked what I was wearing, it lasted all day, it was...wonderful. Now... I've bought bottles recently and all I can say is that within minutes, all you can smell is the ALCOHOL. No more compliments. I don't understand how this happens, unless too many bottles are made at one time, they don't sell out...and get mass-distributed. I have found (sorry, but this is my opinion), that when a fragrance makes it to the Wal-Mart aisles, and every online drugstore, and every mall kiosk....you need to wonder. Why are these large chains getting their hands on them? Probably cause they are OLD. I will not waste any more $$$ on this product. It has seen its last good days.

Lip Treatments -Blistex - Silk & Shine
kimberly73 11/24/2006 7:30:00 PM
Blistex (for me) has always been a disappointment. This is yet another disappointment. Shine? Yah, for about 2 minutes tops. And as usual, it irritates the skin on my lips. I am apt to believe now that Blistex products can actually CAUSE cold sores, chapped lips, ETC., rather than prevent them. Who knows. Maybe it's body chemistry, and we are all different, but every blistex product I've tried has failed - miserably. I will never purchase a blistex product again.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - herpecin L
kimberly73 11/24/2006 7:25:00 PM
HANDS DOWN, this is the *BEST* cold sore (and any lip problem) remedy on the market. I have not had a coldsore in YEARS because of this product. I always have it on hand, and use it as my staple "chap-stick" (if you will). At the first sign of any 'tingly' feeling you may get, start using this, and it will disappear within hours. I've had people ask me what lip (gloss) I'm using, because the other plus to this is that it is so creamy and pearl-like, that it almost looks like a high-priced gloss...not like blistex which is pure white and (IMO), gross...this stuff is much lighter. Only downfall is that it absorbs into your lips so quickly, you will need to reapply often. The other down-fall is the UNFORTUNATE name...Herpecin?? Who wants to carry around a tube that literally tells everybody your business? TIP: Remove the label off the tube. It's easy to do. You are left with a plain white tube with a dark blue ring at the top. Nobody knows what you are using as you reapply it all day. Seriously, this is the *best* stuff out there for cold sores...and more importantly, to PREVENT them from even starting. The price is right and it lasts a very long time, even with constant use. I've tried the others, and they are irritating, leave my lips chapped, and over-compensate for their lack of success with that terrible over-powering menthol 'sting' to your lips. I hate that, and blistex is the worst with that. Use this stuff - you'll see.

Treatments -Stridex - Benzoyl Peroxide - Power Pads
kimberly73 11/24/2006 7:14:00 PM
First, make *sure* you are purchasing the 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, and not the 10% that most companies offer. MORE peroxide is WORSE for you, not better!! These are, by far, the BEST acne-killing pads out there. The key is the LOW amount of peroxide. If used correctly, it does not dry you out, and within 1 week (maybe two), you *will* see a huge difference. Here is the deal, though...do not wipe the pads directly onto your face. The best way to apply this stuff is to squeeze the liquid (make sure your hands are super clean), onto your fingers and LIGHTLY rub over you face. Section your face off into quarters and go slowly until you rub it all in. It's liquid and not a white or gel-like material that you can see. Rubbing the pad directly onto your skin gives TOO much product at once, and can irritate your skin if you rub too hard, which most of us tend to do. Use your fingers!! Another tip: Use only 1/2 of the pad each night. Again, the secret being that LESS is really MORE. Plus, you'll save big $$ doing this. I've had problem skin (bumps, etc.) for many years, and this is the *only* product that has worked. The tips I learned from websites. Too bad this is the only product out there that is REASONABLY priced that offers the 2.5% BP. I swear, anything stronger than this will just irritate your skin and make the problem worse.
