Moisturizers -C.O. Bigelow - Rose Hydrating Gel Treatment

Love the texture of this, like vanilla pudding. It may take a couple of minutes to fully sink in, but when it does, my skin feels soft, smooth and velvety. It would make a great base for makeup.

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm

My college roomate used to swear by this, but I hated it. At first I was fooled by the tingling feeling, thinking it was "working". But less than an hour later my lips would be even drier. Did nothing to help my flaky lips. Totally failed as a lip balm.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essence Purifying shampoo

This is the only shampoo my boyfriend will use. Turns out that it's good for me too. We both have thick, straight Asian hair. My boyfriend has an oily scalp and uses wax to keep his short hair from spiking up in all directions. This shampoo washes out all that gunk and leaves his hair squeaky clean. I started to use this shampoo and Shiseido Super Mild Conditioner, and my hair hadn't looked so good in a long time.

Liquid -NARS - Oilfree foundation
rated 4 of 5

I don't use foundation very often. But when I want to look more polished this foundation makes my pores disappear. It's amazing. It evens out the red spots around my nose and leaves a nice matte finish. I wear this and people think that I have perfect skin. I tried the Balanced Foundation first, but it broke me out, luckily, the oil free formula works for me. I'm taking one lippie off because it does sometimes look a little orangy (I use Fiji), but it's not noticable unless I'm in bright light and you look very close.

Shampoo -Shiseido - Super Mild Shampoo - Moisturizing
rated 5 of 5
killerbunny 12/4/2004 8:29:00 PM

I discovered this shampoo while on vacation in Tokyo and it worked so well, I continued to use it when I came back. It's like a lighter version of Pantene Pro-V, without the perfumy smell. Super Mild smells more fruity , and is lighter. I don't use this shampoo anymore because I need something stronger, that cleans out my oily hair, but I still recommend this to anyone who would like a gentle and moisturizing shampoo. I may go back to this in winter, if my hair dries out from the weather.

Conditioner -Shiseido - Super Mild Conditioner (FT)
rated 5 of 5

I love this conditioner! It has a light fruity smell and leaves my hair silky soft. It's perfect for my long, straight and thick Asian hair. I used to use Super Mild shampoo as well, but now I use Herbal Essence Clarifying Shampoo (for oily hair), which does a better job of cleaning out oils and styling products. Now that I use this combination, my hair is now bouncier and fuller looking.

Blush -Tarte - Cheek Stain in Blushing Bride
rated 4 of 5
killerbunny 11/5/2004 10:28:00 PM

I really like this blush! It has a nice plummy color, and gives a very natural barely there look. The color is warmer than Flush (Flush is a more blue-red). It has a yummy rasberry scent. My boyfriend likes kissing me on my cheek when I'm wearing this. I'm taking one lippie off because it doesn't seem to last very long on me. Otherwise, it's great.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shu Uemura - Eyelash Curler
rated 3 of 5

For me, it works only slightly better than the Revlon curler. It pinches my lids and doesn't quite get the corner lashes very well. I've tried my friend's Sephora compact Go-curl curler and that worked much better. You should try it out before purchasing, to see if it fits the shape of your eyes.

Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Addict Lip Gloss- A Crunch of Chocolate-511
rated 5 of 5

I looove this product! I don't know if they even sell this color anymore, I had to order it from Strawberrynet. I first got it as a sample and I couldn't get enough. The gloss is very shiny, without shimmer, and it makes my lips look so luscious and full. It seems to puff out the lines in my lips and even photographs well. The color is a nice natural pinky brown, that I can wear everyday. I'll keep buying this as long as they sell it.

Moisturizers -St. Ives - Cucumber & Elastin Eye & Face Stress Gel ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
killerbunny 5/7/2004 12:35:00 AM

I keep this in the fridge and use it every once in awhile when my eyes feel tired or if they're puffy in the morning. It feels good...cool and soothing, but I don't think it does much else. My boyfriend uses it much more than I do, he likes putting it on around his eyes after hours of staring at the computer screen. I'd buy it again, at just $3, it's a bargain. I've had this forever already and I've still haven't run out.

This lotion makes me this weird slightly irridescent yellow color. Not the effect I wanted.

Self Tanners -L'Oreal - Sublime Bronze
rated 4 of 5
killerbunny 4/21/2004 11:57:00 PM

This is my first self-tanner and I'm happy with the results. I got the gel in medium-deep. It was easy to apply, no streaks. The color is a little orange, but still natural looking on me (i have pale Asian skin), I've applied a few coats over the past couple of days, and I have just the right color now. I can see how easy it is to get addicted and OD on self-tanner. I took off one lipstick because it did take a long time to dry. It was still sticky after an hour and a half. Maybe next time I'll try the lotion formula.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 30
rated 2 of 5
killerbunny 4/13/2004 3:19:00 AM

I used to use Clinique City Block, but I wanted a higher SPF and this worked great. I hate the sticky feeling of most sunscreen. First this suncscreen goes on greasy and with that plasticy sunscreen smell But after a few minutes, it dries completely and the smell goes away. The sunscreen didn't flake off under my makeup like it did for some people. I don't know why. EDIT: My skin started to get pretty erratic and I got a lot of forehead zits, which were rare for me. I stopped using the sunscreen and the breakouts have stopped. I guess it's time for a new sunscreen...

Hair -Shiseido - Super Mild Rinse Conditioner
rated 5 of 5

I gave the same rave review for the Super mild Shampoo. It's rich and creamy without being too heavy and it has a nice scent that isn't too perfumy. I highly recommend. I bought this in Japan but I've seen it in a local Japanese grocery store.

Hair -Shiseido - Super Mild Shampoo fruity/floral
rated 5 of 5
killerbunny 3/8/2004 1:36:00 PM

I bought a travel size of the Super mild shampoo and conditioner in a convienience store in Japan just because I needed something to wash my hair with. It worked so well that I went back and bought a full size and brought it home with me. It's creamy without being too heavy and my hair has a new bounce to it. I have thick straight Asian hair, and this really works well. Pantene used to work for me too, but I didn't like the perfumy smell to it. This shampoo's scent is much lighter and fresher. i've seen this product at a local Japanese grocery store and I will definitely repurchase. I highly recommend.
