Great stuff! Has definitely improved the rate of my skin turnover, and has helped reduce the appearance of old acne marks.

Cleansers -Paula's Choice - Clear Normalizing Cleanser
rated 5 of 5

BEST CLEANSER EVER!!! I've been using this in conjunction with the rest of the Extra Strength Clear system for about two years, and I'm never going back to anything else. Clears up the oily spots and moisturizes the dry areas. It truly is a "normalizing" cleanser.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium

I really wanted to love this, but I don't. I found it difficult to get the right amount of coverage; there was no happy medium. Either it was so sheer that it did nothing, or it started to cake. It also really emphasized any dry patches (that I didn't even know I had!). It also has a VERY strong smell. It's not an unpleasant smell, but it was perfumed enough that it irritated my sensitive skin. I definitely don't recommend this junk.

This just plain didn't work for me. It did NOTHING to remove my waterproof mascara. I guess that's what I get for $1.

Crap in a tube! Fun to put on and peel off, but unfailingly causes me to break out. In the trash it goes.

Gels/Soaps -Softsoap - Body Butter Coconut Scrub
rated 5 of 5
kiely98 1/26/2011 8:02:00 PM

Love it! I am pregnant and it's winter, so I have been dealing with some majorly dry, itchy, bizarre skin. I started using this last week, and the dry patches are completely gone. The exfoliating beads aren't too harsh, and there's just the right amount of them in the formula to make it ideal for daily use (ie: light, frequent exfoliation). This is very moisturizing, but not at all heavy or greasy, and it washes off cleanly. The only thing that surprised me was that I was expecting a coconut scent. It definitely doesn't smell like coconut, but the fragrance is very light and pleasant just the same. I'll be purchasing more!

Gels/Soaps -Phisoderm - Anti-Blemish Body Wash

Smells nice and was certainly cheap enough, but I swear that this actually made my bacne worse! I am pregnant (my doctor says it's okay to use salicylic acid washes, since it's not on the skin long enough to be absorbed into the body), so maybe that has something to do with the resistance. Either way, what started out as mild bacne became MUCH worse after using this for about two weeks. I stopped using it a week ago, and it's clearing up already. Will definitely not repurchase.

Masks -Paula's Choice - Skin Balancing Carbon Mask
rated 3 of 5
kiely98 7/26/2010 3:18:00 PM

Let me start by saying that I think masks are pretty much overrated in general. I have yet to find one that has any significant positive effect on my skin, and I've used lots of them over the years. This one stung a bit at first, but then stopped after a few minutes. Although my skin did appear "calmer" and my pores looked smaller after I washed the mask off, the effects were extremely short-term, and like with so many other masks, I started breaking out about two days after use. Thank goodness I sampled instead of purchased the full-size. I'll not be purchasing this one. Side note: Because I used a sample, I can't accurately comment on packaging. Please ignore my review of it--mua made me choose something.

Masks -Pro Activ - Refining Mask

I have tried this product MANY times over the past four or five years, and every time I end up regretting it. Yes, my skin looks better after using it--for about two days. Then, my face breaks out horribly. I don't know why I keep thinking that I'll get different results, but I'm through with it! This stuff is crap in a tube.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Dial - Yogurt Vanilla Honey Nourishing Body Wash

What can I say? I'm a connoisseur of cheap body washes. I bought this a month or so ago, and I'm really enjoying it. The scent is awesome, and I was surprised by how thick and luxurious the formula is. It isn't as moisturizing as I normally like (I'm an Olay Body Butter Ribbons gal), but it's nice and lightly moisturizing for summer. It leaves my skin soft and smooth, and my husband wants to get really close to smell me after I shower. You can't beat that for a couple of bucks!

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Invisible Blemish Treatment
rated 2 of 5

I am undecided about this product, which to me means that it probably isn't actually all that good. I have pretty good skin, but recently had some breakout issues due to travel and having to change my skin care (lots of sunblock instead of regular daily lotion). Sometimes I think that this is working, but I'm never really sure. I bought this after I ran out of Differin (which I use only as a spot treatment), and was too lazy to make an appointment with the derm to procure a refill. Since I'm not sure that this is actually doing anything, I'll probably haul my butt to the derm and switch back to the Differin, or maybe just try another OTC product.

Concealers -Neutrogena - Skin Soothing Undereye Corrector
rated 4 of 5

I'm actually really surprised to see so many negative reviews about this product! I bought this not really to conceal anything, but just to brighten the area under my eyes (I purchased Soft Light 01). I'm very fair-skinned, so any bit of darkness under my eyes shows up. I was hoping to hide some late nights with this product, and it worked! I don't think the brush is actually meant to paint the product directly onto the desired location--that would just make a goopy mess. I use it to make a small smear under the eye, and then I use my finger to lightly tap the formula into place. I suck at applying makeup, but even with this crude application procedure and my limited know-how, this product really works. I'll definitely buy it again!

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Exact
rated 5 of 5
kiely98 9/5/2008 11:34:00 PM

Love it! No clumps, easy to apply, and the brush is the perfect size. I love the little rubbery fingers on the brush, as opposed to the normal wiry ones that cause "spider eyes." The black is subtle--I have very fair skin, so anything that goes on too thick with one application makes me look totally goth. One application is perfect for me for daily use, and two swipes isn't too much for nighttime, either.

Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - Marc Anthony - Strictly Curls Curl Defining Lotion
rated 2 of 5

I used to use this product daily. It worked great for me for several years. Just for info, I have naturally curly hair that is cut in long layers. My hair is very coarse, and tends to go to ringlets and loose spirals. This was my HG for a long time, but I think the formula changed around a year ago. All of a sudden I started noticing white stuff around my shoulders every time I wore dark colors, and it definitely wasn't dandruff. It was this crap, coming off my hair! At first I thought that I must be applying too much, but no matter how little I applied, it still happened. So I decided to go a few days without it, bad hair and all, and what do you know? No white stuff. I've since switched to Alagio Crazy Curl Curl Enhancer Balm, and couldn't be happier with it. :)

I have naturally curly hair that can be quite unruly. I like to keep it on loose spirals and ringlets, but it needs some help keeping the locks together. This product is great for providing that help. Just a very small amount holds the curl in place. I don't usually blow dry, which is fine with this product. It gives me soft, shiny, bouncy curls that last until I decide to brush them out. The only complaint I have is that if you use just the tiniest bit too much, you get the crunch factor, which I hate since I'm a texture freak. But this is easily remedied; I've found that if I realize I've put too much in, just a minute under a cool blow dryer with a diffuser solves the problem completely! A triumph for curly girls!
