Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
rated 5 of 5

Love love this product. I use it alone as my concealer under the eyes, since the other steps--2)actual concealer and 3)setting powder are unnecessary for me. I just felt like I was taking too much time putting on too many products while ending up with the same effect. So this corrector is all I need. For an everyday look, I apply a moderate amount, but when I go out at night, I apply a little bit more for a highlighting effect. I usually apply it with Mac's foundation brush 190, and have to reapply once or twice a day. This is the smoothest and longest lasting concealer I've ever tried. It doesn't crease that much, but when it does, I just blend it in with my finger and it'll stay put for a while. Will def. repurchase!

Powder -MAC - Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
rated 5 of 5
khailinhk 9/4/2009 5:55:00 AM

Always stayed away from Mac powders and foundations ever since I broke out from using their stick foundation. However, my coworker's skin always looked flawless and she told me Studio fix is all she uses. She applies it with a sponge in less than a minute and her skin looks so smooth and perfect. I decided to give it a try, and, surprisingly, I fell in love with it. It goes on so smooth and I got NO BREAK OUTS on my acne-prone t-zone area! My regular face routine is Lancome's Teint Idole foundation in Buff 6W to conceal around my nose and chin, then I lightly apply my Studio fix powder (NC30) with Mac's stippling brush 187. My skin always looks flawless, smooth, and matte afterwards. It does look a little dry and cakey on me used by itself though, that's why I prefer setting it over a concealer or foundation. The downfall to this product is that I have to touch up after a few hours since my t-zone is pretty oily. I have yet to find a powder that will last me all day without touching up... Probably too good to be true! But all in all, I love this product and will repurchase soon.

Eye Makeup Remover -MAC - Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover
rated 5 of 5
khailinhk 4/26/2009 8:13:00 PM

At first I hated how oily this product was, but it removes waterproof mascara like magic! I use this everyday and it takes 2 seconds removing my eye makeup and mascara. I use this with a Shiseido cotton pad. Although this product claims to be an eye and LIP makeup remover, I would not want to slather oil on my lips, so I just use it for the eyes. :)

Mascara -Shiseido - The Makeup Lasting Lift Mascara
rated 5 of 5
khailinhk 4/26/2009 8:08:00 PM

This is one of the few mascaras that keep my straight Asian lashes lifted and curled all day long. The only downside is it doesn't volumize, so my lashes still look thin. I compared this mascara to Hypnose waterproof mascara from Lancome, and surprisingly, both of my eyes looked the same. However, with Hypnose my lashes don't stay as lifted as with the Shiseido one. I use Mac's Gently off eye & lip makeup remover and this comes off super easily.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Concealer Kit
rated 5 of 5
khailinhk 4/26/2009 7:53:00 PM

I had to go out and try this product today after reading so many great reviews about it on here. The BA applied the corrector under one of my eyes first, and right away I noticed a difference between two eyes. Then she applied the concealer, and the coverage looked so natural and felt so much lighter than what I was using before (Mac Studio Finish concealer in NW20). I love the texture of the finishing powder--very fine and smooth. I recommend using the powder because when I didn't set it, I noticed creasing right away. My only COMPLAINT is the packaging. When I open up the powder side, powder falls out everywhere. They should really put a sifter on it. So far, it's been on for a few hours and I'm loving the results. It looks like I just have foundation on and not a cakey mess like when I use Studio Finish. I think I just found my HG concealer!

Treatments (Eye) -Lancome - Progres Eye Cream
rated 3 of 5
khailinhk 2/21/2009 2:15:00 AM

As a Lancome beauty advisor, I know that Progres eye cream prevents the signs of aging by keeping the eye area well moisturized. My eye area began feeling dry during winter, and so I've been using Progres eye cream for several months now; I mainly use it at nighttime, especially when the skin around my eyes feel dry. It does a great job keeping the eye area moist since when I wake up in the morning, my eye area still feels hydrated and comfortable. It is a pretty rich cream, and does not absorb into your skin like most other eye creams (which is a good thing if you're looking for moisture). I would recommend this eye cream to anyone who just needs moisture and protection around the eye area, but not if you're looking for something to treat wrinkles and dark circles.

Foundations -Urban Decay - Surreal Skin Mineral Makeup
rated 5 of 5
khailinhk 6/9/2008 6:29:00 AM

I am so glad I found this product. This is the second time I purchased this. I first discovered it when I went to the Urban Decay counter and the consultant asked me what powder I was wearing. I was wearing Bare Escentuals that day (Light) and my face always looks shiny when I wear Bare Escentuals, since I have combination skin. She recommended that I try Urban Decay's mineral powder, and so I decided to give it a try and I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. This is the best mineral powder I have ever tried. It gives a matte finish, and you can build your own coverage. I love how it makes my skin look (flawless and smooth, like counter girls!) and I always get compliments on how nice my skin is. It took me a few times to get the right shade though, since they first sold me Trance, which was way too orange for me. When I came back, they recommended Supernatural, and I stuck with it for a few months but I noticed that it was too dark in comparison with my neck. So, finally, I bought another jar, and this time they finally got the shade right. I am Nirvana, which is the second lightest shade. Illusion is the lightest color, so if you are pale, try that shade out. This container is also spill-proof, with a travel lock, so I always just throw it in my purse and it never leaks (unlike Bare Escentuals). When I use it, I swirl a little bit of powder into the cap and apply with my 129 brush from Mac, and I just build a light to medium coverage until my face looks even and flawless.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
rated 3 of 5
khailinhk 6/9/2008 6:15:00 AM

After seeing this mascara on Oprah's top list of makeup picks, I decided to purchase it. I use this in waterproof, since I have Asian lashes that stick straight downwards and only waterproof mascara will help them stay curled. This tube is huge and the wand is pretty big too, so it's a bit hard to get the inner corner lashes. It does flake a bit and I always notice bits of it in my contacts when I rinse them at night. This mascara is not clumpy and makes my lashes look really long, but does not give it volume, so they look thin. Still searching for the perfect mascara.

Misc Beauty Tools -Shu Uemura - Eyelash Curler
rated 4 of 5
khailinhk 6/9/2008 6:02:00 AM

I am Asian but I have long lashes and huge eyes, and I must say I love this lash curler. I have been using Revlon's for years, and I also tried the Elf curler (which I liked better than Revlons) but they just can't compare to Shu Uemura's. This lash curler is really firm and sturdy feeling. My lashes stay curled all day long, and I don't have to recurl them throughout the day, like I did with my Revlon curler. I like this curler better than the Shiseido curler. Although this curler it's a bit pricey ($19), it's the best lash curler I've tried.

Treatments -Origins - Super Spot Remover
rated 5 of 5
khailinhk 6/9/2008 5:51:00 AM

I purchased this a few months back when I broke out from Mac's Studio Stick foundation. I had cystic acne on my chin and had tried everything to get rid of it but nothing did the trick except for this Origins Spot remover gel. Although it stings when you first dab it onto the pimple, it quickly reduces the size and by morning the pimple is much smaller. Everytime I get occasional zits I use this spot remover and it works wonders. I would definitely recommend this and will repurchase when I use the rest of the bottle. It does last a long time since a little goes a long way!

Foundations -MAC - Studio Stick SPF 15 ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 1 of 5
khailinhk 2/12/2008 12:59:00 AM

The MUA recommended this product to me when I was looking for foundation. I have very clear skin except for an occasional zit here and there on my chin. When I first bought this, it gave great coverage on blemishes and the color matched my skin. I also liked the on-the-go packaging. But after a week of using it, I woke up with huge cysts on my chin that didn't go away for weeks! It's still healing to this day. Ugh. Never again... Now, I use it as a concealer under the eyes and to cover small blemishes only. I'm sticking to my Bare Escentuals.
