Eye Shadow -NARS - Star Sailor Duo
keavy 7/11/2009 6:22:00 PM
After reading the reviews on here, I decided to try this duo out. Normally, by looking at it in the container, I wouldn't even care to swatch them! It doesn't look that unique or something that would flatter my complexion and features. I'll admit that they aren't that eyecatching or pretty in the pan but boy was I in for a surprise! Absolutely beautiful and yes, this compliments my features and complexion hehe! The brighter shade on the left kind of reminds me of Mac's Gorgeous Gold though not as iridescent and the bronzey shade is kind of like Go or a less shimmery/frost and slightly deeper Museum Bronze pigment. Reference: NC25-35 (when tanned)

Eye Shadow -NARS - Habanera Duo
keavy 7/11/2009 6:09:00 PM
Nars seriously makes some of the most beautiful shades with awesome texture. I'm truly amazed by the quality. The shade on the left kind of reminds me of Mac's Brill. The purple-ish shade is just as lovely, though I'm having trouble thinking of a shade that resembles it. A lot of Nars' shadows are original, and not as dupable as other popular brands. Both shades compliment my eyecolor and has enough depth to contour and bring out my deep-set eyes. Another winner from Nars! Reference: NC25-35(when tanned)

Eye Shadow -NARS - Demon Lover Duo
keavy 7/11/2009 5:55:00 PM
THE most beautiful purples and combo I've ever worn! Hands down. The shade on the left-the sort of iridescent one...can't describe. Very unique. It sort of reminds me of Mac's Parfait Amour but BETTER. It applies beautifully and evenly. Perfect pigmentation and texture! I love the darker matte shade on the right for contouring, but man oh man I am in love with the first shade. They both bring out my dark, deep-set eyes and I seriously get so many compliments when I wear this. I can't believe there aren't a lot of reviews for this. It's devastatingly beautiful and will work on just about any skintone and eye color. ::faint:: this has definitely reached HG status! Excellent quality, a must-have! Reference: I am NC25 but can go to NC35 during warmer seasons.

Lipstick -MAC - Style Warriors- Brave New Bronze [DISCONTINUED]
keavy 6/19/2009 2:37:00 PM
Mannn I wish this wasn’t LE! It’s the perfect nude shade and the texture is different, it’s just awesome in every way. If you haven’t already, run out and get yourself one of these! Would look hot with smokey eyes. Kind of reminds me of Spirit (a lovely shade) but with a better formula. Idk how to describe. I feel like it’s all of my favorite nude lipstick shades combined. I’m NC25-35.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-liner Gel in Waveline
keavy 6/19/2009 1:54:00 PM
I'm a "black eyeliner only" kind of gal and I depend on eyeliner-wear it everyday. I swatched this on my hand and the color was sooo pretty! Though I didn't really think it'd look awesome on me. I usually only feel comfortable with black eyeliner and smokey, neutral eyeshadows. Lately I've been trying to experiment and be more open and decided to try this. I started out with Untitled and just drew a line on both lids and my dark, deep-set eyes instantly looked brightened and "awake". Very pretty and I didn't even bother using eyeshadow! I was good to go with Waveline and mascara (black, but now I want to try colored mascaras, something similar to Waveline).

Eye Shadow -MAC - Starflash - Lotusland
keavy 6/18/2009 10:16:00 PM
So pretty! I normally don't wear lighter shades or any color. I prefer dark, neutral smokey eyes, but after reading about a lot of mac eyeshadows and seeing how a lot of people like this, I decided to try it. WOW, I was pleasantly surprised! I have been trying to change my makeup and experiment with colors an I'm glad I tried this. I can actually see myself using it often with a lot of different shades and the texture is divine. A dream to apply! I used it on my lid (with a base of butternutty shadestick but I also like using neutral paintpots or paints) and top hat on crease and out v. I also love using it with Chanel's Magic Night (beautiful purple-ish/burgundy eyeshadow) instead of Top Hat sometimes. I'm NC25-35, right now I'm NC-25 but getting closer to NC30. I have dark, deep-set eyes and Lotusland brightens them up and enhances the color.

Palettes -Kat Von D - Gypsy Palette [DISCONTINUED]
keavy 5/22/2009 3:44:00 AM
OMG, this palette is AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS!!! Kat Von D's makeup keeps blowing me away. As with her other palettes, this one was high quality. A dream to apply on your lids with superb color pay-off. The shades in the palette are to die for! Very unique especially for the price. The shade selection is comparable to Urban Decay, but I like the way Kat's eyeshadows feel better. Sometimes, Urban Decay's eyeshadows, allthough gorgeous, unique shades, the textures aren't ALWAYS the best, especially with fall-out. This palette is just perfection and I'm going to buy myself another one before they run-out, since this is LE, I'd suggest all of you grab yourself one asap. The greens are fabulous, you've got a shade comparable to juxt or bitter, one to vex (ugh,so pretty) humid, club, carbon, just top-notch quality! I need morreeeee now! Man, I hope they never discontinue her line. Her makeup, especially the palettes are perfection. High-quality, great texture and color-payoff,versatility,convenient packaging/compact/wide selection of beautiful and unique shades and all for $34, which isn't at all bad, and that's coming from a college student lol.

Eye Shadow -Kat Von D - Beethoven palette
keavy 5/5/2009 8:54:00 PM
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS and HG worthy! High quality eyeshadows that are comparable to other high-end brands, a wide selection of shades, cute packaging, a big mirror, and it won't even hurt your wallet! For all of that, $34 is nothing. I am extremely amazed! I love ALL the shades in this palette. The Ludwig palette is more common and plain. I think (the Ludwig palette) is more universal because it's neutral and safe. Although IMO, the Beethoven palette is more versatile. Day and Night looks are covered. You can go glam, funky for clubbing & parties, "punk rock" glam, elegant to soft and natural. You have the creamy highlighter/base shade, brown, purples, blues, black,a beautiful lavender/silver shade (reminds me of Mac's Illegal Cargo) and a greyish/silver shadow. There's nothing wrong with this palette! It's perrrrfect! I am COMPLETELY satisfied (a rarity ha) and will repurchase over and over again! I think everyone should get this palette. Seriously, no joke.... :-)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Emerald Green Pigment
keavy 4/17/2009 8:27:00 PM
OMG soooo pretty! I'm amazed by MAC pigments. I shy away from loose eyeshadows and anything shimmery but man, the more pigments I try I'm pleasantly surprised. Emerald Green is SO beautiful. It's a richly pigmented green. It shimmers as if it's emerald! I have deep-set dark eyes and this pigment all over the lid on top of either sharkskin or black ground paint pot is just to die for. I'm addicted to these pigments and can't wait to try so much more! They will last a long time in those 7.5g jars. I only need the teeniest amount so I don't ever see myself really needing buy again...if ever, maybe in a few years, perhaps. If or when I run out I am so buying myself some more =D! I just love it!

Palettes -Stila - Precious Pearl Palette
keavy 4/16/2009 2:13:00 AM
Amazing texture and color payoff! I normally shy away from shimmery, colorful shades. I'm more of a neutral tones gal when it comes to eyeshadows, but when I was browsing around at Sephora, this palette caught my eye. I swiped the shades on my arm and was amazed! I had to have it, though I'll admit that the price ruined it a bit for me. I ended up buying the Shady Lady palette by TheBalm which is more bang for your buck and comparable quality. Though nothing can beat Stila when it comes to texture-so buttery smooth! I was lucky enough to get this as a gift =D If you've got the money and are a makeup junkie, definitely get this! It really is amazing. It's not TOO bad price wise because you are getting several Stila eyeshadows in super cute packaging, and it's limited edition, I believe. Previous reviews are spot on with the comparisons to Mac's Vanilla, Seedy Pearl and Urban Decay eyeshadows.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 138 Tapered Face Brush
keavy 4/13/2009 10:30:00 PM
Superb quality! I absolutely love this brush and I'm glad I finally purchased it. I'm all about contouring and highlighting and this brush is just a dream. It feels so nice and it does what it's supposed to do. I've been waiting for a brush like this forever and I was so tired of the angle-cut brushes all brands have had available for contour/highlight. This is like a super-big #224 brush (also by MAC). Everyone should own one of these babies! Not just for highlight/contour but you can use it as a blush brush as well.

Eyeliner -Chanel - Professional Eyeliner Duo La Ligne De Chanel
keavy 4/9/2009 4:03:00 PM
If you consider yourself an eyeliner aficionado, then you MUST have this! Especially if you love BLACK or smoky colors. The granite side reminds me of Bobbi Brown's Graphite Shimmer ( which I love, btw) and the black side is TRUE black! I normally wear Revlon's liquid Colorstay eyeliner or Bobbi Brown's Black Ink. The quality is amazing and it has great color pay-off. It's pricey, but will definitely last a long time! Even for people like me who wear eyeliner all the time hehe

Palettes -Kat Von D - Ludwig Palette
keavy 3/26/2009 9:31:00 PM
Holy crap! I am pleasantly surprised by these shadows. They apply like a dream and great color pay off too. I love the shade selections in this palette and the cute packaging as well. The applicators I can do without and suggest that everyone buy good brushes too. I started with Urban Decay Primer Potion and then used M.A.C.'s "Painterly" paint pot, and the shadows looked freakin' awesome on top! I am in love and can't wait to try more Kat Von D makeup!!! For an unbeatable price, especially since there are several eyeshadows, HIGH-QUALITY at that, and chic packaging (nice big mirror too), I'd buy this again! =D Great for travel

Lip Treatments -MAC - Hello Kitty -- Pink Fish Tinted Lip Conditioner
keavy 3/19/2009 2:39:00 AM
Man oh man I wish this wasn't LE! It does everything and more. It's the perfect light-medium pink, it feels awesome on the lips, moisturizes AND protects (spf)! *sigh* It's perfect. The packaging is super cute, but it would have been better had it been in a tube. For packaging I gave it a 4, but overall a 5! So pretty....

Eye Shadow -TheBalm - Shady Lady Eyeshadow Palette
keavy 3/18/2009 9:15:00 AM
I'm normally pretty "snobby" when it comes to makeup and it takes a lot to impress me. I've only ever used TheBalm's concealer, ages ago. While I was strolling around Sephora, I noticed these shadows shimmering beautifully under the hot lights. I tested out some of the shadows and they were all buttery smooth and pigmented! Not at all too shimmery, chalky, or garish. All of the shades have enough depth and are comparable to a lot of high-end brand eyeshadows, such as Nars, Mac, Dior, and more. So many high quality eyeshadows and all for only 38 dollars in one palette!
