Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco Shine 65 - Cavaliere
kburditt 4/1/2013 1:28:00 PM
At first glance this lipstick shade was not appealing to this PPP. It looks very dark and murky in the tube and had I not swatched it I may have passed this one over. On my lips the color is a dark, sophisticated plum with a slight mauve/browny/silver sheen to it. Not quite as rosy as MAC Odyssey, but along the same lines. This is not as sheer as the other Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks, so the color actually shows up on my lips. I like this lipstick formula a lot. It provides the moisture and shine of a lip balm, but the color payoff of a semi-sheer lipstick. I love this particular color and despite the deep tone, I never look overdone.

Lipstick -MAC - Satin Lipstick in Brave
kburditt 3/21/2013 4:46:00 PM

This isn't a color I'd normally gravitate towards at the counter. It looks too pink, too nude and too blah. So imagine my surprise when playing around at a MAC counter one day that I discovered it's actually a terrific MLBB color when paired with MAC's Whirl or Absolutely It liners. It can be drying, so you should definitely plan to use a balm underneath and a bit of gloss on top. I think my favorite way to use it is with Absolutely It lip liner and with a bit of VGV lip gloss on top. Putting Ample Pink Plushglass over it also creates a nice hue.

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Blush Brush
kburditt 2/20/2013 1:29:00 PM
I really, really wanted to love this brush but I don't. I've watched the Pixiwoo tutorials and so I was very interested to try Real Techniques when I saw them in my local Ulta store. This brush is way too large and the bristles are too soft. I had to keep dipping into my blush today to get any on the brush! Even then, it didn't seem to deposit any pigment on my face. I"m sorry to say I'm disappointed but I am. I also purchased a stippling foundation brush and the eye liner brush so I'm hoping for better results with those.

Eye Shadow -MAC - MAC Brun Eyeshadow
kburditt 1/9/2013 5:11:00 PM
I use this as an eyeliner and I absolutely love it. Black isn't my daily choice for eyeliner because I'm pale and it's too dramatic for daytime, so I tend to lean towards different shades of brown (MAC Embark or Handwritten (slight plummy undertones), TM definer in dark brown), BB Espresso. Brun is a bit lighter than the colors listed above. It's a perfect straight up dark brown color that really enhances the green in my blue-green eyes. . I don't detect any red or purple undertones in this.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Large Angled Eyeliner Brush
kburditt 1/9/2013 5:00:00 PM
This is a fantastic eyeliner brush! It's like a mutant MAC#266 brush . The brush is thicker and longer than a typical angled brush and the bristles are stiff enough to hold dark shadow and not create dust that sprinkles all over your cheek. I've found it to be very precise and it allows me to get right into the lash line. The size of the brush may be intimidating, but I think it adds to the performance and I usually only need one dip into my shadow of choice (MAC Brun) and one good press into the lashline and that's it.

Lipstick -MAC - Odyssey
kburditt 9/10/2012 1:03:00 PM
I rediscovered this lipstick in my collection and wore it this past weekend. It's a beautiful rosy purple on my very fair skin that doesn't look as dark on as the pictures in the profile appear. MAC lipsticks can be drying, but they are long lasting. I typically wear this with a light purple gloss over it. This is a re-purchase (Back to MAC, actually).

Eyeliner -Almay - Intense i-Color Bring Out the Brown in Purple Amethyst
kburditt 5/14/2012 2:34:00 PM
I have this color and the Raisin Quartz and unfortunately I have to give both a thumbs down. While I really love the color of each and I think they're very affordable, there is absolutely NO staying power. I'm really disappointed in these. Even when I put on a lid primer these fade away very quickly.

Lipstick -Laura Mercier - Stickgloss in Black Orchid
kburditt 5/11/2012 3:13:00 PM
Total thumbs up for this lipstick! If you are pale, don't let the color in the tube or the name intimidate you. You will not look like a goth if you wear this. On my lips it is a perfect deep plum color which almost appears as a stain, rather than a glossy sheer. For that reason, you don't necessarily need a lip liner with this, but I always wear one anyway.

Lipstick -Lancome - Colour Design-Camisole
kburditt 3/22/2012 4:44:00 PM
I'm generally not a fan of pale colored lipsticks, or shimmers because I'm very fair skinned and pale lipcolors tend to wash me out. However, this color is an exception. I like to wear this lipstick over Lancome's Portelle liner and together they combine to make a really wearable soft mauvy pink color that's a bit similar to the color I get when I wear MAC Glamapuss lipstick over MAC Amorous. It's a nice formula and I do not detect any scent.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - La Laque Fever Plum Savvy
kburditt 3/16/2012 10:40:00 AM
Love the formula, the color, and the fact that there is no scent to this cream color gloss. I'm very fair and this is a terrific everyday wear kind of plum. It's not too deep, it's not too shiny and it is somewhat moisturizing. I like to wear it with Lancome's Portelle liner. Another bonus is that it has staying power. Color-wise, it reminds me of when I use a favorite lip combination of MAC Plum lipliner all over the lips and then top it with VGV lipstick. This is worth the money and I would definintely re-purchase.

Lipstick -Too Faced - Lip of Luxury Living in Sin
kburditt 2/8/2012 2:29:00 PM
Love this color!! I'm on an endless hunt to find a replacement for Stila Natalie and this color really comes close. I might even like this one better! As mentioned in earlier reviews, there is a slight smell (I think it's a bit like Sweet Tarts), but it is not strong. I am a a plum lipstick enthusiast and this lipstick is one of my favorites. I like to top it with Too Faced SexPot gloss.

Lipstick -MAC - Bust Out!
kburditt 6/8/2011 2:45:00 PM
I agree with the reviewer who commented that the color you see in the tube (and swatched on your hand) is not really what shows up on your lips. I am very fair-skinned and I'm drawn to plum-colored lipsticks of all shades. This one looks straight up purple in the tube - similar to Stila's now discontinued and beloved Natalie lipstick. On my lips this is a wearable plummy pink. I wear it with MAC Plum liner or Maybelline Plum lip liner and LM Pink Diamond Lip Glace. This lipstick is a bit drying, so I find it looks better with a bit of gloss.

Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Impressive
kburditt 4/21/2011 1:35:00 PM
On my PPP skin, this is a near dupe in color, formula and tube (with the cap off) for BB's Creamy Lipcolor shade in Rose Brown. BB is a tad darker. Basically, it's a nice, neutral pinky-brown shade that isn't too dark, isn't too light, isn't too sheer and never looks too bright on me. I wear Impressive with a bunch of different lipliners and like the look with each - Chanel's Nude; LM Plumberry; EL Fig; MAC Whirl. I think this is a nice everyday lipstick.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Kissable Lipcolour in Flaunting It
kburditt 1/14/2011 4:13:00 PM
I bought this color after I saw a MAC rep wearing it. It is the perfect shade of pinky plum on me and it lasts without drying my lips out. I am very fair and this is entirely wearable. I think the color is similar to MAC "Amorous" lipstick, which is one of my favorites.

Lipstick -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Volupte #28 Beaubourg Brown
kburditt 12/1/2010 12:45:00 PM
I have very fair skin, so I tend to steer away from brown lipsticks, but I have to say that this lipstick shade works for me. I wear it with Chanel Nude liner and the combination results in a pinky brown that is completely complimentary to my coloring. I'm a fan of this lipstick because it's smooth, long wearing and I don't find the scent to be overwhelming (EL I'm talking about you). This and LM Pink Champagne lipstick are my daily go-to lipsticks.
