Cleansers -Darphin - Aromatic Cleansing Balm with Rosewood
kbel 8/7/2012 12:47:00 AM
This is my go to winter cleanser. I like to apply the balm directly onto my face before emulsifying, using watery hands or a wet cloth to emulsify then remove. I find this works really well when my skin feels dehydrated. I use this at night only as I love the smell and the fact that it leaves a well moisturised feeling on my face. I then apply the Darphin treatment oil/serum lightly on my face and neck and the combo seems to work well. I've had no breakouts using this product and despite the price tag I am keen to buy it again.
A friend gave me a sample of this product and it was love at first use. As my skin gets older I am conscious of avoiding that powdery "old lady" face with my day care. I had given up on foundations and switched to tinted moisturiser and was mostly happy with the 'Hourglass' tinted moisturizer. However, after using The Cure I am now a huge fan and have purchased a full size pot! A little goes a long way, which is just as well given the exorbitant price of a pot. Coverage is very good and although I find that my skin looks slightly more shiny, I feel that it has given me a 'glow' with no sign of powdery or flaky patches. It is currently winter so I am yet to see how it looks in summer with the extra heat/ sweat etc. but so far I am hooked. My skin is somewhat sensitive, pale, combination with occasional rosacea on my cheeks but The Cure hasn't given me flare-ups at all. Instead I think it gives a perfect amount of colour/tint for a natural look.
This is my all time favourite mascara. It lasts all day, doesn't end up under my eyes in a smudgy mess and even survives the rain or a teary movie! I absolutely love this product! I like my makeup to be low hassle and this fits the bill as it dries fast and doesn't cause issues when I am hurriedly getting ready in the mornings! It may be pricey but so worth it! Love it!
I love this eyeliner. I have been so afraid of liquid eyeliners as I am not so great with the brush but this has renewed my confidence. The brush glides on beautifully and the flow of colour is consistent. I love that it is refillable and I find it lasts all day. This is a winner for me!
Liquid -Shu Uemura - Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation

The texture of this foundation is silky and gorgeous but it has a chalky appearance and looked too flat for me. I so wanted to love this but I looked like a powdery Granny. I also used it with the Shu Uemera translucent powder which I still love but I think the combo was too much.
I agree that this brush is lovely and soft. The texture when applying powder is really nice BUT it sheds like crazy! I have used this every day for six months and I STILL have to pick brush hairs from my make up every time!!! The shedding outweighs the softness for me and it has put me off Stila brushes altogether.
Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer

I have been a UDPP fan but wanted to try TooFaced Shadow Insurance after reading such positive reviews here. Unfrotunately it isn't for me. I found it too wet on my eyelids and given how hurried I am in the mornings before work that just doesn't work for me. The slick texture just didn't feel right. I also don't think it has the staying power of UDPP. I tried to love it... but its back to UDPP for me!
Primer/ Corrector -Stila - Hydrating Primer SPF 15

I really like this product although it is the first foundation primer I have used so I can't offer a comparison. I like the texture and it works really well under the Stila tinted moisturizer I use. I found the tinted moisturizer to be quite 'sticky' and stiff to apply but the primer made application much smoother. I did try it under the Stila Illuminating foundation but that combination didn't work well as the foundation is very liquid as it is. My only criticism is the fragrance; it has quite a strong chemical/ alcohol smell that took a bit of getting used to. I will buy again though.
Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner - Flatter Me

This has a lovely texture and is easy to apply. The colour is more neutral than I expected although it did look great at the store when applied by the Sales Assistant (of course). I like the subtle shimmer and it works well combined with other powder shadows or creams in my collection. Overall I like it and am impressed with how long it lasts. I do recommend applying with the BeneFit 'fluff shadow' brush.
I have just purchased my second 'No Smudge' mascara because I just haven't found another smudgeproof/waterproof that is as effective for me. I like the staying power and that it doesn't end up under my eyes by the end of the day. I've taken one lippie off because it can be hard to remove but this won't stop me buying it again! I'm a fan!
Like many other reviewers here I liked the concept of the Pocketpal but the reality was disappointing. The BeneTint is lovely and although I initially liked the gloss, despite its overt stickiness I ended up hating the smell! It is hard to keep the tint from mixing with the gloss during application and when they do the smell is awful... really awful. Eventually mine became unusable. I'll stick with Benetint on its own from now on.
I find this to be a very natural blush with a good balance between colour and shimmer. I had been a dedicated BeneFit 'Dandelion' user (which I still love) but this NARS blush gives my face a bit more of a lift with the subtle gold-toned shimmer contained within the colour. I use this very lightly and would definitely buy again.
I have this in Violet, Slate and Ivy. My favourite by far, however is the Violet. I find this is a great as a summer shadow when I don't feel like going to a lot of trouble - a quick smoky eye is easy with the liner, shadow and smudger. I also use it as an eyeliner generally because its easy to apply. My only gripe is that I wish it lasted longer. It is smooth and soft to apply and sometimes it is easy to use too much of the liner. That said, I'll always buy this - as long as Stila keeps producing it! I have to add that I find the packaging brittle and it cracks and splits very easily - that is frustrating!
This is a lovely brow pencil - very soft, easy to apply and looks natural. I purchased 'blond/clair' and when blended with the angled brush on the end of the applicator I think it looks really natural on my otherwise non-existent blonde eyebrows! Very happy with this buy!
Eye Shadow -BeneFit Cosmetics - Show Offs in Curtain Call [DISCONTINUED]

I have just purchased this powder after a particularly persuasive sales assistant at Parkson in KL! I was skeptical at first as I felt that it may be too glittery but I was soon convinced otherwise. I dab a tiny amount of the powder over my eyeliner and it sticks well adding a slight shimmer and widening my eyes considerably. I already love this product and although the packaging is small, it isn't necessary to use very much. I certainly wouldn't use it as an all-over powder.
