Foundations -Too Faced - Amazing Face Oil Free Close-Up Coverage

Let me say, prior to this I was using MAC's pro long wear, I did like the MAC pro long wear however I feel it is too thick and dries too fast and so it's very hard to blend out. My skin type is acne prone-oily t zone and dry patched skin (worst combo ever, I KNOW). I have noticeable pitted acne scars (that I wish would just disappear but I know that won't be happening anytime soon). And still very prone to breakouts. I had actually read reviews on here initially and really debated if I should go out to purchase it. Instead I asked for a sample and tested it for 3 days. And it IS AMAZING!!! The color is actually perfect for me (although they are very limited in color selection and I just blind guessed my shade...seriously) but the color definitely worked out for me. The texture, is amazing. It is so smooth, moisturizing, light weight and it literally felt like a light moisturizer on my face but made my skin looked as if it had enough coverage, dewy, and even! This foundation does not look cakey, very buildable, and does not dry up fast! The only downside I would have to say are two things: 1.) the price, it is a bit pricey $36 (but so worth every penny) and 2.) no pump, which makes for a messy application but... This foundation is WORTH IT.

This was my latest foundation buy but honestly, this was not my first time owning this foundation. The first time I used it (like a year or two ago) it seemed fine I just decided to switch to a new foundation. After I switched to the new foundation, I went through a couple of bottles of the new one...and then decided to go back to this. I was excited about it because I liked the fact that I remembered it being light weight and because it had a slight shimmer to it to make the face glow. But here's my deal. I purchased it (for about $20) and wore it. It's a really hyrdating foundation but this thing broke me out with pimples like crazy all over my chin (where I never get pimples or breakouts). i wore it for a good 3 weeks and broke out only I didn't realize that my breakouts were from the foundation (i kept thinking it's that time of the month or that it's from stress and not getting enough sleep) only about 3 days ago did I finally realize it was the foundation breaking me out so I decided to go back to the foundation i was using before using this foundation and the breakouts finally stopped. So I will never buy this again knowing the fact that it broke me out so badly on my chin and didn't make any other parts of my face any better. Oh and I also do not think this foundation is for oily skin unless you want to powder yourself every 30 minutes, stay away from it.

Treatments -Clarins - Beauty Flash Balm
kayvang 3/31/2009 12:36:00 AM
This is a product I would not use everyday but rather only when I feel like I'm dead beat tired and need a "feel better" look. What I didn't like about it is that after I apply it onto my face (and just a dime size amount) little small grain like left overs of this stuff comes off (and this is during both before and after I apply foundation on). I don't know if it did much for my skin. Maybe it was a face primer for 1-2 hours but even after that, i didn't see much improvement at all. I automatically felt the difference of weight when I barely put it on. Consistency is not like face lotion/moisturizer, but feels a lot thicker. Over all, I wouldn't but it again just because I'm sure I could find something better for the price and the quality.

Pressed Powders -Tarte - All Pressed Powders [DISCONTINUED]

I really do understand why these reviews are so great. I purchased it from ebay in a pack of 12. I'll tell you what I didn't like first though... 1.) The fact that it's discontinued and you can't go into a store and find your color match, just pay for it, and walk away. This means it makes finding a color match extremely hard, especially since the ebay store I purchased it from only had 4 colors to choose from! =( So yeah, I didn't get my color match from the 12 that I ordered and it basically is waste for me now. I got 2 of the 4 colors available. And one of the colors was waaaay to dark for me. The other color I got made me look like a ghost, not good! 2.) The packaging sucks. I barely opened one for 4 days and it started cracking on me already. I was disappointed about that but I do understand that it's discontinued and there's basically no point for the manufacturer/company to make a case for it. Also I guess if you look at it in a more positive way, because it comes in a just a plastic covering/package, it's cheaper. The pros (when i decided to experiment w/ it around the house and left it on for a few hours to see how it would react/look on my skin): 1.) Well, let me just say, this powder's consistency is totally different from any powder I've ever used before. It's like it just sits on your face and gives you a nice satin, smooth finish. It looks REALLY good on the face. 2.) It didn't felt heavy or cakey. I think the best way to apply this powder is by a powder brush. The consistency of this powder is so soft that the powder brush really picks up the powder easily. 3.) It's cheap. 12 of these babies for 9.99. GREAT STEAL. Overall, I would say that if you want to give it a try just in case you're lucky enough and find the right match of the 4 colors that was available, give it a try because it might just be perfect for you. I would definitely buy this powder again if it came in my color shade. I'm sad that it doesn't because it is really a good powder. I would be soooo happy if it did come in my color. And just for reference, i'm asian and have more of a light beige complexion. All 4 colors that were offered were either too light or too dark.

Mascara -Lancome - Courbe Virtuose (Divine Lasting Curves)

This mascara is not the mascara for you if you want THICK FULL and EXTREMELY LONG LASHES (if you don't have long lashes to begin with). This mascara rather helps to accentuate and darken your lashes. I like it because it gives off a more natural eyelash look, the mascara is not as thick as other mascaras I have used in the past. Also I didn't find it clumpy (maybe if you put it on 10-15 times) but if you put it on 1-3 times, it's not clumpy at all.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Dr. Pepper lipsmackers

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. This little lip balm/chapstick is something i always must have in my small make up bag. It moisturizes my lips sooo good it's not even funny. It does give a little dark pinkish color to your lips, but it looks sooo fantastic. People always tell asks me what lipstick i'm wearing because my lips look red and shiny (not like lip gloss though). Not to mention, the price is a steal....like $1-$2, so worth the money. Sometimes i always buy two at the local drug store, just because i know i'll always need to get one anyways when mine runs out. Give it a try, you'll love it.

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation - Intensive formula [DISCONTINUED]
kayvang 7/23/2008 4:39:00 AM
I ordered the samples from everyday minerals and i love how much they give you for just the shipping price (which was just $3.09 where i live, CA)...I just thought that was an unbeatable price for 3 choice of foundations, a concealor, and a blush....great deal! However, I was looking into this product because i just wanted to see if there was something different i could look into and try and because i've heard such great reviews about it. I'm not too sure yet if i really like the coverage or how it looks like on my face. I dont know if it's the formula (the intensive) but it makes my face look kind of cakey. I felt like it made my face a little dry. I'm using this fantastic foundation from clinique right now and I LOVE IT....although i dont like the EM by itself on me...i love just putting a little finishing touch of EM to my face after i put on my clinique foundation. I say it's definitely worth it to just give the samples a try, you might like it or you might now...but it's definitely worth your money! Edit//I forgot to mention how my skin is. I used to break out so badly because i had cystic acne (ON MY CHEEKS) and because of it, i was left with really BAD pitted scars (ones i feel will never make my face look the same again) =( *These scars really left me emotionally distress. I believe my cystic acne was caused by hormones, but that's another story. Anyways! My cystic acne has thankfully stopped but again, the pitted scars always reminds me of the horrible year i went through it. The reason i went with the intensive formula was because i really do want a heavier coverage (because i need it). I have not tried the other coverages, i will probably look further into it but i'm scared it's definitely not going to give me the coverage i need for my horrible pitted scars. I want something to cover it, not accentuate it. I will probably update again when i order new samples.

Liquid -Clinique - Clarifying Makeup Clear Skin Formula [DISCONTINUED]
kayvang 1/14/2008 10:30:00 PM
I have really acne prone skin and it has left me with a few pitted scars. I have been trying and changing my foundation for over 3 years now and i felt like i've never really found the right one for me. I've tried probably 3-4 other foundations from clinique and a few from the local drug stores, but i've never been completely satisfied because all of the foundations i've tried leaves my face to even break out more, leave a really fake ugly orange/bronze tone to my face, have been too heavy (to the point where when i get oily, it feels like the foundation will drip off), etc, etc, etc.YOU GET THE POINT, RIGHT? Well, i've been using Clinique's clear skin formula for probably 2-3 months now and i ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! It's not too watery or nor is it too thick, it really leaves the face not feeling heavy AT ALL. And i have indeed seen improvements on my skin from future breakouts of using this foundation. Plus, it comes in a fair price because it does work and it is counter name brand. When you set it on your face it does hold onto your skin and dries up fairly quick (nice if you set it w/ powder). The cons about it would be that i wished the bottle was a tad bit bigger (although i have only had 1 bottle so far and it has last me until now). When i went to the clinique counter, i was looking for my shade, but the lady working there told me there's only 2 shades available. I'm asian i do have light skin, so the color i got actually matched me, but my aunt recently bought it and she doesnt like the color matches. It'll probably be better if there were more shades available. Overall, i'm probably going to stick to this foundation. It really works for me. I did also buy the press powder (clarifying press powder??) and i guess because i do like ALOT of coverage, the powder didnt really finish the job for me, so instead i'm using mineral loose powder to finish off after applying the foundation. I recommend it! --Kay Edit//April 6 2008...i still have my bottle from 3 months ago and it hasnt run out yet. A little goes a LONG way with this foundation. :)
