Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Nadinola - Fade Cream

I have breakout prone, oily skin and was a bit worried that I'd experience a breakout. Thankfully, no nadinola related breakouts!! I began using this with a thin layer of walgreens brand alpha hydroxy on top and saw great results. After about a month, I decided to stick with manual exfoliation and nixed the alpha hydroxy. I use it nightly all over my face, and glop it on dark spots in combination with neosporin. After 3/4 months, my skin has never looked better. I started with a face full of pitted acne scars and dark marks. I'm pretty fair, so the only option was full coverage foundation. I can now wear a tinted moisturizer or light coverage fndtn and not feel like a monster! My whole face is brighter, old acne scars have diminished atleast 75% and new ones stand no chance against this miracle cream. My pitted scars are obviously still the same, but look much less obvious since there aren't any dark marks making them look worse than they are. Overall, definitely worth it...i wish I could recommend this to everyone suffering with scars. There's hope!

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation - Intensive formula [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
kayteea 4/15/2008 3:27:00 PM

I was a little scared to use this formula as I thought it would be drying, heavy and cakey. I just tried this and i think it is my new favorite. It took a TON less powder to get the coverage I prefer and is the perfect happy medium between matte and natural. Lahhhvvvv itttt, thank you EM! EDIT 1/28/09: I've switched to using Physician's Formula

Bronzers -Everyday Minerals - Soft Bronzer

This is a really nice, believable, natural beige-y tan color. I'm Ivory and it goes nicely with a nude or minimalist look, to give that little boost of life into your cheeks! As an eyeshadow, it's alright, a nice tan neutral. I have also mixed a little bit of this on my lips along with Lancome's Daquiri Juicy Tube (sheer bright pink) and thought it was great for a nude color. Well worth the price since it can be used in many different ways:)

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Soft Touch

Just got a sample of this and I LOVE it:) On me (just found out Ivory is my HG!) it is a bright, but natural candy pink kind of color. It reminds me of a Benefit blush, but I can't think of the name right now..hmm. I will use this as a daily blush along with my other EM favorites:)

Concealers -Physicians Formula - Blemish Rx
rated 2 of 5
kayteea 4/15/2008 3:08:00 PM

I bought this for about $9 (I think), in the Soft Green color. The first few times I used it, it looked a little cakey and seemed as if it accentuated the teensiest bit of dry skin. I tried some different applications and found that patting it in with fingers until it 'melds' with your skin works the best. It def. helps conceal redness, but I wouldn't reccomend only this product for concealing acne or scars. It hasn't broken me out, though i don't think it's made much of a difference in healing breakouts either. I use an additional concealer (true match) over it, and then my Everyday Minerals. This combo of products covers my imperfections really good:) EDIT 1/28/09: I've recently only been wearing Physician's Formula Mineralwear and tried using this under it..it didn't blend very well and was obvious under the powder.:( Sorry, soft green, we're no longer meant to be!

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 182 Buffer Brush
rated 4 of 5
kayteea 4/15/2008 2:58:00 PM

Let me just start off by saying the price is INSANE. I've never spent $48 on one single makeup item. Besides the price, though, it is really nice. It makes my EM foundation go on much easier, look much more natural and it takes a lot less time to apply:) Even though I think the brush was a good purchase, I will not be buying another as I expect this one to last a long time!

Blush -Everyday Minerals - Daydream
rated 5 of 5
kayteea 3/8/2008 1:51:00 PM

I LOVE this blush. It doesn't take too much to show up on my skin (I use Fair Medium) and doesn't look too cakey or obvious like other blushes. It's a brown, rose-y color that I think would look great on any skintone. Though Waffle Cone is nice, I prefer Daydream because it has more pinkish tones and is matte:)

Blush -Everyday Minerals - waffle cone

This is a pretty nice blush. It's a pinky, beige-y, brown color with some shimmer. I find that this leans more towards the neutral/beige color than the other undertones I listed, though. It shows up fine on my 'Fair Medium' skin and looks nice without looking toooo made up. I prefer Daydream to this, though, because the color is more versatile and pink tones look more natural on me.

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Intensive Fair concealer [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

I use this under the semi-matte foundation and find it gives my horrible skin enough coverage for me to have some confidence. This isn't too heavy or dry and doesn't change the color of the foundation. HG:)!

Powder -Everyday Minerals - foundation semi-matte formula
rated 5 of 5
kayteea 3/8/2008 1:34:00 PM

I think I love this foundation. I have a lot to cover and this, with the intensive concealer and thebalm concealer on occasion, works great for me. It can look a little weird and shiney when it's covering inflammed pimples, but once it sets, it looks fine. I do tend to get very oily, but touching up is a part of my life that I have accepted:p It wears much better than the matte formula did on me, doesn't look cakey or masklike and hasn't broken me out. I underestimated the power of buffing and used to just sweep MMU on like regular powder. I felt inclined to start buffing once I started trying EDM and it really does make all the difference. But anyways, I think this is my HG?:) EDIT: I prefer Intensive to this:)

Powder -Everyday Minerals - Foundation Matte Formula
rated 3 of 5
kayteea 3/8/2008 1:27:00 PM

Let me just say that EDM's prices are great..better quality than BE for a friggen fraction of the price:) I got two sample kits, one being matte and the other, semi-matte. I usually tend to go for matte everything, but I personally think the semi-matte is better for me in this case. Yes, matte does have better lasting power, but I do not like how it wears. I have oily skin and after wearing this for about 8 hours, it starts looking a little blotchy and dry..not so natural. No matter how little I try to apply, it ends up looking too heavy for me. I'm glad it works great for a lot of people but it doesn't for me.

Samples -Everyday Minerals - Free Sample Makeup Kit [DISCONTINUED/REPLACED]
rated 5 of 5
kayteea 3/8/2008 1:19:00 PM

LOVE!!:) This is an amazing offer, three sample foundations in whichever color and formula you desire, a concealer AND a blush for only the price of shipping..this is a MMU junkie's dream come true! I ordered two kits (one in matte, one in semi-matte) for myself and one for my mom. They all took less than six days to recieve! I'm able to mix and match foundations without feeling bad, because it was basically free. I think I've found a match and prefer the semi-matte, so maybe I'll be making a real order sometime soon;) Oh, and I tap the minerals out into my old BE cap because the containers they use are too tiny to swirl and tap with. The blushes, I think, will last forever because it doesn't take much at all to get a nice wash of color. Thanks EDM for making me fall in love with something affordable!!

Mascara -Sephora - Lash Plumper
rated 5 of 5
kayteea 3/8/2008 1:10:00 PM

I got the little sample mascara of this and I really like it. It isn't too heavy on my lashes but certainly accentuates them enough to make them sort of 'dramatic'. It hasn't flaked off, smudged or clumped. It seperates and gives length, but doesn't add much thickness, which I don't seek out in mascaras. Overall, a good mascara if you're looking for a more natural emphasis rather than the 'fake lashes' look.

Concealers -TheBalm - Time Balm
rated 4 of 5
kayteea 3/8/2008 12:51:00 PM

I'm so glad I've got this concealer! It really helps to cover and doesn't overaccentuate any dryness (let's face it..all makeup does to some extent). I use this mostly under my eyes and layer it on for anything that needs serious coverage (without it getting cakey!). Hasn't broken me out more than I usually do, which is a BIG plus. There are a couple cons, though. It always creases under my eyes, but it's nothing that a little touch up can't fix. Also, the colors really suck. If I tried using this as a foundation, I would look a little oompa loompa-ish. Under my MMU, though, it isn't a big problem. Overall, I would buy this again but I do wish there were more colors.
