Other -Crest - 3D Professional Effects White Strips
kaylanault 11/24/2011 1:41:00 AM
Started with vivid - used twice daily and have three packages left to use. Noticed a difference within a few days. Vivid is much much cheaper than Professional Effects where I purchased my strips. Went back to same store for something else and passed by the whitestrips again thinking to myself I would love to kick it up a notch and get the Professional Effects strips. They are amazing! I have sensitive teeth to begin with and *have* noticed a mild discomfort here and there so far (after using two PE strips - once daily for 30 minutes). It's almost like a tiny throb at the bottom edge of a few teeth. It *does* go away like Crest says. I should mention that I smoke cigarettes daily. My teeth were never yellow per-se but they definitely weren't white. The PE strips vs. Vivid - Vivid does not come with advanced seal, although it is still easy enough to use for amateurs. I am an amateur :P It does result in tasting a weird sweet gel and I was drooling at first. Professional Effects strips don't even feel like they have a gel - it's almost like putting a strong, thin and clear tape on your teeth for 30 minutes and forgetting about it! No taste or discomfort. I might use the rest of the strips daily until next week when I will start to use them every second or third day. By that time my teeth will be unnaturally white. These strips really do work!

Hair Removal -Nair - Ready To Use Body Wax Strips
kaylanault 11/24/2011 1:25:00 AM
These didn't work for me. I'm unexperienced in at-home waxing (well anywhere else too I guess lol) but these didn't work for me. I used Nair Soft Touch strips - face, bikini and underarms. I tried to wax the hair on my arm pits and it did not work at all. Left wax behind - yuck... I followed instructions to the best of my knowledge. But I must give Nair credit for the great after-wax towelette things. They smelled and felt good but they were oily... which is expected!

Blush -Clinique - Blushing Blush Powder Blush - Iced Lotus
kaylanault 11/24/2011 1:13:00 AM
This is my favourite blush. I love the compact mirror, the brush is great quality and the product design and compact is very pretty. This lasts for months and months for me, even with daily use. I have pale skin. It looks almost like a hot pink but it does not come out too pigmented and does not stain your face. It has the perfect amount of shimmer and adds a beautiful glow. Looks natural. It is a great mix of shades that compliment your skin. This in my opinion is a perfect product. I buy it over and over again.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Hypnotic Poison

This is my favourite perfume. It does smell like root beer, but in a good way somehow ;) Long-lasting. Like previous reviewer I smoke too and it covers the smell. The product is expensive but worth it!

Good - Amaaaazing coverage and texture, affordable product, comes in many shades, easy to find Bad - Feels gross after a long day (but still looks good), brand tests on animals This is my go-to foundation no matter what! I love it.

Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Estee Lauder Daywear Lotion SPF 15
kaylanault 11/24/2011 12:44:00 AM
Ugh! I hated this lotion. I could just feel the chemicals sinking into my face when I used it. Not a nice moisturizer - doesn't even do it's job. I'd rather use olive oil!!!

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator
kaylanault 11/24/2011 12:41:00 AM
Good - Smells a bit lemony-fresh, hard to describe haha, liquid has a cool look to it - kinda shimmery blue, feels refreshing, does it's job well but it's not amazing - I was only slightly shocked when I saw the difference in my skin after using it Bad - Very expensive, does not moisturize (but it's not a moisturizer) Would I buy this again? Maybe if I win the lottery or absolutely need an illuminator, which I don't at the moment.

Treatments (Eye) -Estee Lauder - Idealist Cooling Eye Illuminator
kaylanault 11/24/2011 12:37:00 AM
I love this - this eye illuminator is almost magical! The ceramic applicator stays cold, feels refreshing and is curved to fit perfectly under your eye. Easy to use. It is slightly tinted which is a plus. It erases about 70% of my eye darkness after a few moments. I don't need to use my finger to help gently rub it in - the ceramic top is great for that purpose. Brightens my entire eye area and goes well under makeup. Effect is long lasting. I would reccomend this product to anyone!!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear (old formula)
kaylanault 11/24/2011 12:29:00 AM
Good - Nice look, gives a glowing effect, lasts throughout the day, doesn't feel heavy, lasts a while for product size, you can apply more as needed Bad - Expensive, blemishes show through unless you layer, *kind* of greasy, I must always apply powder The reason I won't buy this product again is that I am always on the lookout for perfection. Until I find the best foundation ever, I switch products always.

Mascara -Christian Dior - DiorShow BlackOut Waterproof
kaylanault 11/24/2011 12:23:00 AM
I'm pretty picky about my mascara. This one did not measure up to my mascara standards. It wasn't horrible though of course. Like another reviewer mentioned, it didn't flake... Who knows though in a few weeks it might. It's expensive. It does add color, texture and volume but in my opinion not much more impressive than any other brand, including low-priced.

Primer/ Corrector -L'Oreal - Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
kaylanault 11/24/2011 12:09:00 AM
I haven't had much experience with primers, this being my second or third primer I've tried, but I know enough to see that this product works very well. It has some ups and downs. First, I notice an intense improvement in redness, shine and all over skin tone. It stays put. The first time I tried it, I considered skipping my foundation - I was that impressed. Reason I didn't skip foundation? I'm very pale!! And I wanted to see the difference it made with my makeup. The result is very smooth blemish-free skin. It isn't greasy and has a very lovely feeling to it. My skin did not feel like it was being covered with pore-clogging goo like some other products make me feel. My skin is baby smooth when I use this product. Unfortunately I don't notice if it lengthens makeup staying power but it probably does. I'm the type to get irritated with makeup after a few hours anyway. It is also quite expensive for the tiny jar that it is. I find I also like to apply a bit more than it seems like I should but it makes the primer that much more effective. Overall, I would reccomend this product to anyone who has some extra cash to dish out on *almost* uneccessary cosmetics and wants to try new things.
