Fragrances -Philosophy - Amazing Grace cologne

Completely agree with Audreyrub - it's not the same. Amazing Grace was a beautiful light lovely compelling fragrance that I just loved and used up. I bought a new bottle two months ago. I smell overwhelming citrus and only a vague hint of what I originally liked plus a hint of burning diesel. My nose didn't lie to me, This is NOT Amazing Grace any longer, not even close.

Concealers -La Prairie - Light Fantastic Cellular Concealing Brightening Eye Treatment
rated 5 of 5

For me, well worth the price. Goes on smoothly, never cakes or flakes, stays put, is non-irritating. Covers like a second perfect skin that is imperceptible except through an electron microscope. Lasts about six months - costing approximately 34 cents a day. It really is fantastic and the best I've ever found.

Mascara -Cargo - TexasLash

For me, this mascara does not work. It tended to clump on my wimpy lashes. It also smeared. Worst, I woke up with an irritated eye the third day of usage. I've never had a mascara do that.

Lip Liners -Christian Dior - Rouge contour lipliner in natural beige

I bought this once and never again...It drags and pulls, is uneven and dried out...Of course, it could be Macy's sold me a liner gone bad, but the end result is the same, I will never buy this garbage again...I prefer Chanel Aqua Crayon - also from Macy's, which is the absolute best, goes on smoothly, lasts all day...worth the mucho bucks I paid for it.

Absolute best lip liner...best color for me. lasts for hours, goes on smoothly, doesn't run. Tried a comparable Dior liner...very disappointing dry and breaks all the time...Won't ever use anything but Chanel Aqua Crayon...ever.

Shampoo -Frederic Fekkai - Full Volume Thickening Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
kaycees 9/18/2009 11:38:00 AM

I tried this on a whim when I found it at Ross for 12.99..still more than I usually spend. The first thing I noticed is a very little goes a long way, and I did not have to shampoo twice. Then I went to style my hair with a flat iron...WOW! Super shiny and smooth...I could dispense with my shine spray. I don't think my hair has ever looked better. After 6 weeks, I was in danger of running out, I ordered more because this is absolutely the best shampoo I have ever used. It far exceeds any expectations I ever had or thought possible. I have always bought whatever was on sale thinking shampoos were interchangeable, which has consistently been the case...until this stuff, which is like hair magic in a bottle for me.

Fragrances -Versace - Versace EDP

Got this as a sample at Nordstroms. My nose does not like it at all - not in the bottle or on my skin. I can't discern the notes and I find the overall effect unpleasant. There are so many lovely perfumes from which to choose, but IMO this is not in the running.

Powder -Neutrogena - mineral sheers mineral powder foundation-fair to light
rated 4 of 5
kaycees 8/11/2008 12:52:00 AM

I really like this. I just apply some concealer then powder this stuff over to even everything out. It doesn't settle into pores or look like I have makeup on. Works for me where so many have not, or the ones I have liked have been discontinued. Plus it seems to last forever. I hope this doesn't get discontinued.

I agree with those who love this lip liner. It is the best one I have ever used. It goes on smoothly, lasts all day. Because nothing else I've used comes close, I'll pay the price.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 2 of 5
kaycees 8/9/2008 5:05:00 PM

I ran out of my Merle Norman mascara and bought this in a pinch yesterday, recalling I'd used it in the past. First, it goes on skimpily, but amazingly it runs and smears exponentially to the application. At least, that's what happened when I had an allergic sneezing attack this morning. So, until I can get to Merle Norman and get their non waterproof mascara that doesn't smear even if I rub my eyes, I bought some of that two step Revlon mascara, and I'm throwing this maybelline away. It's not even worth the effort to apply it. And now I'm sure that's what compelled me years ago to try other mascara. I gave two stars because it's dirt cheap...but I do love Maybelline eyebrow pencil.

Fragrances -Hermes - Un Jardin en Méditerranée
rated 5 of 5
kaycees 7/29/2008 1:41:00 PM

Another Hermes sensation. I spritzed some on before I went to bed last night and can still smell it on my arm 12 hours later. The initial spray transported me to a woodsy setting in Big Bear CA many years ago. I guess that was the bergamot - anyway - very nice, then it became something charming, feminine, yet unobtrusive. It's the kind of perfume that doesn't invade others' spaces. I love it and eau de merveilles, 24 Faubourg and 24 Delicate and - I guess that's it, but these are all keepers for me.

Fragrances -Antica Farmacista - Mediterraneo Le Parfum
rated 1 of 5
kaycees 7/27/2008 3:44:00 PM

I thought I'd bought a bad batch, but I see from other reviews that - no - it's just a misbegotten fragrance, or in this case - odor. Smells just like those gaggy citronella torches with some burnout wax to boot.

All I smell is pear - but it's an ambrosial honey of a creamy floral pear. Rich, lush, buttery, delicate, soft. My kind of scent.

Fragrances -Hermes - 24, Faubourg Eau Delicate
rated 5 of 5
kaycees 7/13/2008 12:38:00 PM

Perfect summer perfume fragrance that warms to and melds with the skin. I don't find any similarity between this and the original 24 Faubourg - except that it is divine. It lasts all day on me. I'm so pleased I gave it another try earlier this month. When I initially received it April or May and spritzed it, I found I only got one sharp note, then nothing really. Warm weather brings out its true glory, which I find amazing, light, luxe and joyous.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - tri-aktiline
rated 5 of 5
kaycees 4/20/2008 1:23:00 PM

Tri-Aktiline Instant Deep Wrinkle Filler actually works, instantly. I bought this product for $39.00 about six months ago at Kohls- skeptically. Now I won't leave home without it on. I squeeze a dollop in my hand then begin patting right over my makeup on the wrinkly, crinkly areas, and poof they're gone. And I have tried everything, including Stri-Vectin, Prevage, Botox, collagen, ad nauseum in the past - very costly and results wear away after time. With Tri-Aktiline, there are no diminishing returns. Every day I look good. Absolutely fabulous stuff that really does what it says and costs only pennies a day.
