Fragrances -Nina Ricci - Nina (New)
katushka37 9/29/2012 7:25:00 AM
I remember one day I've sprayed this fragrance on a paper tester strip and was really impressed with it. It had very pleasant sweet fruity scent. Couple of days ago I saw it on sale for $29 at Priceline but decided to test it on myself first to see how it will smell on me. It was a very good idea! At first citrus notes overpowered everything but after few minutes apple and praline notes started coming through. It smelled very very delicious, if the store was close by I would have returned and purchased it straight away. It was different to DKNY Be Delicious where apple note is more fresh rather than sweet. After about 20 minutes strong floral notes started coming through and together with fruity and sweet notes it turned into a mess. I started making me feel nauseous and I must admit that I am pretty open minded when it comes to various perfumes. I couldn't wait to get home and wash it off my skin. Some of it got onto my clothes as well, however it smelled better than it did on my skin. I think higher temperatures make less pleasant notes "come out".

Polishes -China Glaze - Pink Voltage
katushka37 9/26/2012 7:10:00 PM
I was craving a bright neon pink nail polish that doesn't look too cheap like those you see in a $2 shop. Pink Voltage satisfied my cravings! It is super bright yet stylish. I would describe it as neon pink with pink pearl and matte finish. I've pained my toe nails with it and couldn't stop staring at them. Even my BF complemented me on my choice on nail polish and he normally doesn't day anything. I normally wear neutral colours so it adds fun to my look without looking tacky. I didn't have any problems with formula. All my matte nail polishes tend to chip easily, however this one lasted longer then most. Three coats gave me decent opacity. Tip: if you have trouble achieving opacity with neon shades try painting your nails white first, it is going to make neons even brighter!

Polishes -Essie - Coat Azure
katushka37 9/26/2012 7:00:00 PM
I would describe Coat Azure as slightly muted medium blue with a touch of shimmer. I got it as a part of French Affair mini collection. The whole collection was stunning (my favourite mini set so far) and it was hard to pick a favourite. However I must admit that Coat Azure was the least wearable shade for me. I'm NC20/25 and it just doesn't agree with my skin tone. I also own Coat Azure's "close cousin" Smooth Sailing and that shade looks gorgeous on my nails (I think blues with purple rather than green undertones suit me better). The formula of this nail polish was also slightly gloopy, however it tends to spread out and even out with second coat. This polish has good opacity and two coats gave me full coverage. I also loved shiny finish and a touch of shimmer gave this polish an extra dimension without making it look metallic or glittery. I would give it 3.5 stars!

Polishes -China Glaze - Smoke and Ashes
katushka37 9/20/2012 9:15:00 AM
Smoke and Ashes was one of the twelve nail polishes from Capitol Colours collection inspired by Hunger Games movie. I've read somewhere that it is supposed to represent district 12 (Mining). I would describe it as deep black with green and blue CG signature "glass" flecks. I wasn't expecting them to be overly noticeable on nails, instead they give this black nail polish an interesting dimension. Also all glitter particles sunk to the bottom on my nails so when I lightly rubbed them with nail polish remover it got rid of black colour and left a beautiful greenish blue foil on my nail! Give it a try.

Polishes -OPI - Steady As She Rose
katushka37 9/8/2012 9:05:00 PM
I absolutely love this muted grey-pink-lilac shade! It is subtle yet stylish, it will draw attention to your nails in a good way! It suits my NC25 skin tone well and makes my short-to-medium natural nails look well-groomed. I didn't have any issues with streaks at all. A lot of lighter creme nails polishes can be tricky to apply. Make sure you prep your nails by wiping them with nail polish remover (I use Zoya 3-in-1 Remove +) , it will get rid of oils and debris from your nail surface so the nail polish will apply smoother and stick better. Then apply the nail polish in 3-4 strokes, if it streaks a little don't go over it again, it shoudl spread itself out. Finally let each layer dry properly (wait for 1+ min between layers). Hope it helps :)

Polishes -China Glaze - Urban Night
katushka37 1/16/2012 7:40:00 AM
China Glaze Urban Night is a deep blackberry/plum creme. It is dark enough to look vampy yet light enough for this gorgeous shade to show up on your nails. It dries to a glossy finish and stayed chip-free on my nails for 3 days. Very flattering shade for my NC25 skin tone!

Treatments -La Prairie - Cellular Hydrating Serum
katushka37 1/8/2012 5:53:00 PM
I was given a deluxe 5 ml sample because I told SA that my skin reacts to products a lot and said that I want to try them first before spending $200+ on it. Luckily I did because this product didn't impressed me at all Pros: + Feels nice on skin (but all other serums do too) + Moisturises well + Nice bottle with pump (even tester) Cons: - BROKE ME OUT! I got lots of big red blemishes under my nose and on my chin. I only used to get small whitish breakout if the product was clogging my pores. But never so badly esp. on my lower half of the face. - I found scent pretty unpleasant - Very expensive, not worth $200+! You can get something similar for 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost. Cheaper but still higher-end serums like Estee Lauder Idealist and Clinique Turnaround performed way better for me.

Polishes -China Glaze - Below Deck
katushka37 12/26/2011 9:40:00 PM
I cannot fault this gorgeous purplish taupe creme nail polish! It went opaque in one coat (but I ended up applying 2 for more colour depth and longer wear), dried quickly and has beautiful shiny finish. It dries slightly darker than bottle colour but still looks amazing against NC25 skin tone. Even though it is in grey/brown category it is not dull, nor OTT. But it will be noticed and admired by others. I found a dupe of this colour in my collection - Essie Merino Cool!

Polishes -China Glaze - Atlantis
katushka37 12/24/2011 9:43:00 AM
At last I've found a flattering teal for my NC25 skin tone! Based on good reviews I've ordered myself one online. When it arrived I though - of great, its just another glitter nail polish. But I was pleasantly surprised when I've used it. The glitter is suspended in gel-like sheer base therefore glitter looks more multidimensional. It also feels smooth on my nails which is a big plus! I've layered it over shimmery teal nail polish for deeper colour. Love it!

Polishes -OPI - Alpine snow
katushka37 12/24/2011 7:05:00 AM
Alpine snow is your typical liquid paper white nail polish. I also found that it applies somewhat streaky. Drying time was good. Overall I think opaque white is a must have - it is great for French manicures, under neon and sheers polishes and with glitters. However I would prefer if this shade had a tiny amount of micro-shimmer for more dimentional finish

Liquid -Stila - Illuminating Liquid Foundation
katushka37 12/24/2011 7:00:00 AM
I've pick it up on sale, I wanted to try illuminating foundation for a while. I like the frosty glass bottle, matte silver lid and pump. Foundation itself is ok but not great, it gives very light coverage and you face will look quite shiny. I don't like the smell and it is important for me (I either want it to smell nice and be fragarance-free). However I really like using it with other matte and flat foundations (like Revlon Colourstay and EL Double Wear) to give them more dimention and glow.

Polishes -China Glaze - Snow Globe
katushka37 12/23/2011 12:49:00 AM
China Glaze Snow Globe is a part of Let It Snow collection. It is a multi coloured glitter with mix of large and small glitter particles. The name describes it well - it reminds me of glitter you would see inside a snow globe :) Glitter particles are multi coloured but have a transparent base so it looks like you've got a tiny specks of glass on your nails. It has a sheer base so it goes well with over other nail polishes (I think it looks bad by itself). I wore it today over opaque white nail polish (OPI Alpine Snow), love this look (reminds me of white Christmas). Formula is good, it feels fairly smooth on my nail, glitter is dense, it dried quickly and was easy to apply. However like many other glitter nail polishes it doesn't last very long. It is also a dupe of MAC Unconditionally fabulous nail polish but much, much cheaper.

Fragrances -Diesel - Fuel for Life Unlimited
katushka37 12/16/2011 9:19:00 PM
I got a sample of this perfume and I must say I liked it. It is interesting a pleasant mix of fruity, floral and slightly spicy. This fragrance fades to a very subtle scent after about 30 min which I guess is a drawback for some but great if you don't want to smell like perfume within 2 m radius. I've got lots of perfumes ATM so I'm not planning to buy it anytime soon. It is not one of those I-have-to-have-it perfumes for me.

Polishes -OPI - Sparrow Me The Drama
katushka37 12/16/2011 9:06:00 PM
This is my favourite pink nail polish! It goes with almost anything. It is bright but at the same time doesn't scream look at me. It is mellow enough to be worn to work yet not boring. It always catches my eye. I've purchased mini set 1st and fell in love with this shade so much that I had to buy a full size. Two coats gave me good coverage. 1st coat was a bit streaky but 2nd one evened it out.

Polishes -OPI - Ate Berries in the Canaries
katushka37 12/10/2011 8:46:00 AM
Ate berries in the Canaries is a deep bright pink with purple undertones. It has a very good formula, 2 coats will give you fully opaque finish, dries fast and has that beautiful OPI lustre when dried. However I can't say I'm in love with this colour. I've worn it on my toe nail and though it was quite nice. Yesterday I've painted my nails with it and it still hasn't grown on me. It doesn't catch my attention when I look at my nails.
