Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Skin Smoothing Cream

This product saved my skin! I must note that I have the “professional” line because my friend is in the skincare industry and I do feel there is a difference between the regular dermalogica products, not to say you should go and shell $100 on on-line prices but I feel there is. My friend would rave about this cream & by accident she gave me the sample of active moist and I absolutely hated it, I hated the smell and I feel it did nothing for me and then I moved from dry climate (az) to a colder climate (ia) and my skin did not come to a liking. I had broken out and I never had that issue and I had extremely dry, flaky skin and my skin is combo/sensitive. I was desperate to find hydrating products & my friend kept telling me she couldn’t understand why I didn’t like the dermalogica moisturizer but she had sent me a bunch of samples of moisturizers, serums, mask, etc. to try and we figured out she had given me the wrong sample previously and that’s why I was so oppose to trying it again, BUT the skin smoothing cream is much much different. It’s absolutely moisturizing and fast-absorbing. My skin feels smooth & hydrated and I just absolutely love this product. I’ve tried to go without it to see and there really is a huge difference. I’ve also like to say that I have replaced this with my crème de la mer…it does the job just as well & I find applying it just as I would the CDLM (emulsifying the product between my hands and pressing against my skin) does absorb to my skin better. This has saved my skin and I cannot imagine using another moisturizer again (and I’ve tried) but I immediately go back.

Primer/ Corrector -Guerlain - Meteorites Perles Light Diffusing Perfecting Primer
katsud86 6/21/2010 1:45:00 PM
Let me start off by saying this is MY must-have product. This is essential to my everyday routine because … well I’m going to go off on a ramble so here’s your warning: My friend had this friend with just beauuutiful skin, I mean she had this inner glow and we would just be in awe by how phenomenal her skin was. It was flawless, didn’t look like she wore makeup and she seriously had that glow from within where you couldn’t pin point it but there was something there…not that I didn’t believe she couldn’t glow. When I say glow, I don’t mean disco ball, but I mean an ethereal glow. Her secret: GUERLAIN products. Thank goodness she introduced me because I am hooked on guerlain products! They give you the “I’m wearing makeup but you can’t tell I’m weating makeup makeup”. I don’t care for the price, if a product is good I’m not going to bump stars off because of it. (Back to product review) I don’t use this as a primer as I don’t wear foundation so I’m not sure of the long-lasting effect for foundation but I use this more of a serum. It’s like a pick-me-upper. My face is instantly brightened, I look fresh and well-rested and I’m glowing! It gives that “inner glow” I was talking about, subtle so don’t expect a drastic noticeable difference but try going without it and see the difference. My face is dull & bland with out it. Now I also don’t call it a primer because it’s got a different texture to it, it feels more of a serum because it has that “cooling” jelly-like texture to it. It has the pink pearl balls inside and when you pump the pearls turn into a serum but the packaging itself is beautiful if you’re a packaging junkie like me. It looks elegant and it’s glass in case people are wondering. I feel Guerlain products are amazing, pricey yes but if you don’t mind the price tag then I say give it a go. On my lazy days, I just wear this and normal days I use this with my guerlain meteorites powder for the face (old version in the cardboard marie antionette packaging) in 01 mythic.

Treatments -La Mer - The Hydrating Infusion
katsud86 6/21/2010 1:43:00 PM
To be honest, my first reaction to the product is that I didn’t notice too much of a difference, or I couldn’t tell; that’s until I moved from a dry climate (az) to a cold climate (ia) and my skin just went crazy. I had breakouts (which I’ve never had that problem growing up) and my skin became extremely dry & flaky (again, never had that problem previously) so I was desperate in searching for skincare products to hydrate my face as my current skincare products were just too light and not hydrating enough. I revisited the La Mer the Hydrating Infusion and I have to say this and the Dermalogica Professional Skin Smoothing Cream saved my skin! It really does hydrate, at least on my skin and I feel it preps for my moisturizer. It is extremely pricey but this is a high-end beauty product, so yes it does hurt the pocket book a bit. I am extremely happy for what it has done to repair my skin but I’m a beauty junkie & always looking for the next best thing so if there is a dupe, I’m willing to try but I haven’t found one yet unfortunately so I’ll have to shell out the $95 for the product to maintain my skin. It’s still healing, but I think I’ve managed to get my skin to somewhat of its original state. It’s a hit & miss product, either it works or it doesn’t but like I said, I hadn’t really appreciated the product until my skin went haywire. I think TheSublimeAgent does a pretty good review if you want to check it out on youtube.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Blanc Type - Matte2
katsud86 5/26/2010 1:07:00 PM
Blanc Type is the only re-purchase mac e/s I’ve made (only because I don’t wear a lot of powder shadows, if any)…BUT…I’ve purchased this 3 times!! I love the formulations of the matte2 shadows; it literally feels like butta, it’s so smooth and creamy. I’ve noticed the matte formulations tend to hardened and form weird bumps and I feel I need to scrape it to get some color but enough about the texture. The color blanc type is a great all-over and highlighter color, I want to describe it a cream color and it looks great on my brow bone because it’s not flashy so it doesn’t look like a highlight and it blends into my skin tone. I use it everyday. I love it so much I have one in pot form to throw in my makeup bag and one in my palette. This is my HG shadow. (Confession: Did anyone purchase this purely the fact that it was used on Kristen Stewart for Twilight, because I certainly did and I must say, I’m glad I did) If I have to say the downside of it is, because of the creamy soft texture, you do need to be careful because it does easily crack (eek). Also, you must tap the access off because you’ll be left with a super pigmented highlight, unless you are going for that then proceed
