My HG sunscreen has always been Shiseido sunscreens and I don't know what made me shell out the bucks to buy this but boy am I glad I did... Other than the cost, ( which is way too high), this is a wonderful tinted sunscreen that matches me perfectly (NW20), stays put all day and really only requires a little powder for me to blot the shine. Some days I put foundation over it if I am looking for a more polished look but not every day. This is rapidly over taking Shiseido as my HG sunscreen. Love this stuff... also, it does not irritate my highly sensitive skin and nor my allergy prone eyes. I bought the supersize bottle for some reason as my first purchase of this and I am really glad I did. Will definitely repurchase.
One of my HG liners.... love this color and wear it all the time... I have dark brown eyes and hair and this makes my eyes sparkle... the ONLY complaint is that I can't wear it on lower lids because it smudges easy... so I wear it on top and it does fine... not as long wearing as some of my Bobbi Brown liners, but this color is worth it... Very easy to apply and smudge out if you choose... I will always have this pencil in my stash.
I tried this foundation because of all the great reviews and it is one of the better ones that I have... I am more of a Bobbi Brown and MAC girl particulary with foundations, but this performs just as well as any higher dollar foundations I have... I have combo skin... oily tzone and normal cheeks and very few foundations stay on my oily tzone all day... this one does not stay on my tzone all day either, but it does pretty good... better than most. I do have to blot and powder mid day on the tzone but it lasts all day perfectly on the rest of my face... And the color match is very good too... all in all a great foundation that I highly recommend. I will re-purchase this when I run out.
Loose Powders -Bobbi Brown - Sheer Finish Loose Powder

One of my HG powders... I really can't do better than this powder... and believe me, I have spent a fortune trying just about every new powder that comes out... just knowing there is going to be another one that finally keeps my oily tzone matte all day... and folks, this powder by Bobbi Brown is the only one that even comes close... this powder and Clinique Gently Blended Loose Powder and MAC Blot Powder are the only ones I use now.... and I use this Bobbi Brown the most... for one simple reason... it works and it looks natural and non-cakey no matter how much I pack on. I have it in pale yellow (both loose and pressed) and soft sand... I am going to stop wasting my money on others...
My new HG mascara... I have watering, allergy stricken eyes and worried that this would not work for me as I mostly have to use waterproof mascara... but this works great.... One coat gives me really nice, noticeable lashes and a wide awake look and it lasts all day... I don't use it on lower lashes due to my allergies... but I love it... The big big wand put me off at first, but now I really like it. Highly recommend.

One of my HG's that I always come back to. I have all kinds of foundation and finishing powders and I rotate through them a lot... but this is one that I come back to time and time again... because it just looks the best of any I have. It keeps me finished and fairly matte for a while... but no powder keeps my oily tzone matte all day... but this never looks heavy or cakey. I will always have this in my makeup stash.
HG for me. I am on my second container of this and I can't believe I haven't reviewed it. love it... use it every morning.... the little tub lasts me just under a year... I am not fond of having to use my finger but I love it anyway...highly recommend. I use this in the am and Paula's Choice lip lip tub at night. HG stuff for me.
Gels/Soaps -Neutrogena - rainbath moisture-rich shower and bath gel
katieqr0918 6/7/2012 10:46:00 AM
I have been using the original Rainbath again after about 20 years and really love it and then I saw this huge bottle in Sams of the moisturizing Rainbath which I have never used before. I got it and this is now my absolute favorite! Suds galore if that's your thing, but the best part to me is how clean I feel and not stripped of all moisture. It's also great to use as a shaving gel... I intend to keep this in my shower from now on... Highly recommend.
Have been using this for over a month now so I feel I can review and I can say that this is my HG liquid foundation. I am NW20 and first got the 2.0 and while it worked, I felt it was just a tad dark... So, I got the 1.5 and it's a perfect, and I do mean perfect match. I am keeping the 2.0 for summer. This is about a med coverage on me. If I have some pretty bad spots to cover, I would have to use concealer, but this evens out my redness and covers my mostly no spots skin, very well. . I work in TV and wear this on air and it looks great. Wears all day on my normal skin on my cheeks and holds up really decent on my oily tzone. ( I am classic combination skin). I do have to touch up my tzone once a day and I usually use a MAC powder for that (I have four I rotate). I have sensitive skin as well, and this does not bother me at all. But, all MAC foundations don't bother me. All in all, I will say my search for a liquid foundation is over, finally. I never even think about looking for another foundation now.
I don't even look at other bronzing powders after getting this. I have this in Natural and it looks perfect on my NW20 skin... I thought it would be too dark but the SA put it on me and that was it... love it love it... I use it a lot, and have barely made a dent in it so it will last me a couple of years I am sure. I wear this year round for blush typically... sometimes put a pot rouge or Tarte Amazon Clay powder blush just on my cheek bones... but I love this bronzing powder by itself.
Love this stuff... I use cleansing oils primarily because I have combo skin that has an extremely oily tzone and dry cheeks .. I also use prescription Retin A... I hesitated before trying this because of the mineral oil but I have to tell you that I use no other cleanser now... this liquifies on contact and removes all of my heavy duty waterproof eye makeup and long wearing stuff easy... Best of all, it does NOT irritate my very easily irritated eyes... I can open my eyes with this stuff smeared all over them and it doesn't burn or sting and does not cause the film in the yes that oils sometimes can. I smear this all over my face and neck and then wipe off with a warm, wet microfiber face cloth and then use my Thayers Alcohol free witch hazel for a toner and my skin is perfect... just enough moisture and no oily residue... love love love and can not recommend highly enough.
All the great reviews and all the recent talk about oils brought this and the sesame body oil back to mind for me. I used these in my teens... now 25 years later I have fallen in love with this again... I bought the mega size at Sams and now using this everyday... Love the fresh clean smell and how it lingers on the skin and my skin is so soft! I imagine I will keep this around for a while again. Love it.
Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes - waterproof
katieqr0918 9/13/2011 11:10:00 AM
HG Mascara! I am one that usually uses a high end mascara and tried this on as an afterthought and it is now my HG... Love the brush, love the brush cleaning design of the tube, love how it stays put with no smudging or flaking with my allergy prone eyes... also does not irritate my easily irritated allergy eyes... I am off high end mascaras... this will be it from now on... great stuff... highly highly recommended...
Tinted Moisturizer -MAC - Prep + Prime Beauty Balm SPF 35
katieqr0918 5/25/2011 9:05:00 AM
well, I agree with the previous poster... don't buy this expecting a true BB Cream like the ones from Asia.... Course MAC is calling it a Beauty Balm rather than Blemish Balm like the Asian brands do... and MAC is honestly calling it a primer too... and that is what it is... It's does not make me matte, I have a oily tzone and I do shine through the day wearing this... it is a moist finish, but my makeup does stay on with this and it is a high SPF....It is tinted but does not work as a foundation/concealer like most of the Asian BB Creams do.. I am not sure if I will buy it again as I have been trying the Asian BB Creams and they really blow this one out of the water. I am hoping that this is the first of many BB Creams to finally come to the US.
I believe this will be an HG foundation for me... I held off trying this mineral foundation due to the price but found out I could get some pretty decent sized free samples from the website. They were super nice about asking questions about my skin tones and then sent me three different colors to try as well as the Amazing Matte loose powder ( LOVE) and the Pure Matte pressed powder (ALSO LOVE).... And folks, this is it for me when it comes to mineral foundation... I am still using the samples but am going this weekend to pick up a full size at a salon that sells it near here. Color match (Radiant) is perfect for my NW20 skin... does not irritate my hyper sensitive skin and eyes, wears like iron and looks natural even with near full coverage. My combo skin still gets a little oily across the tzone, but the foundation doesn't break down as most of them do on me... I can touch up with no problem. I have tried so many mineral foundations looking for the perfect one... the closet I could come to a powder foundation that worked for me was MAC Studio Fix and EL Double Wear powder... both of those were close but not perfect... this Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base is as close to perfect I will believe I will get.
