Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - The Porefessional
kathhhh 5/4/2012 10:01:00 AM
THis does a good job of minimising the appearance of my pores. I use it on my nose and a little of my cheeks or forehead. It feels really smooth when you apply it to your skin. It is lightly scented but doesn't irritate my skin.

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle
kathhhh 5/4/2012 9:58:00 AM
This is a really beautiful highlighter. I love the peachy champagne colour and I feel it would suit a variety of skin tones. I use this to highlight my cheekbones and sometimes other areas of my face such as my cupid's bow, brow bone, or as an inner corner highlight. I even occasionally use this as an eyeshadow which I saw someone do on Youtube. I think this is a staple product and it will last me a long time as only a small amount is needed. Love it!

Concealers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Erase paste
kathhhh 5/4/2012 9:54:00 AM
After trying other concealers the Erase Paste does not stand out in comparison. It is a heavy coverage concealer and is thick and creamy in consistency. When used as an undereye concealer it creases on me quickly, not just at the end of the day. I feel the consistency is too thick and can look cakey, especially as it needs to be set with a powder to try and prevent creasing. I have it in no.2 medium which is too dark for my NW20 skin tone so this works better when I have more colour in the warmer months. As it is more warm in tone, it doesn't work well to cover up blemishes due to the colour tone. The no.1 would be better suited for me, but overall the colour range is poor with only 3 shades. I wouldn't repurchase it and there are definitely better concealers out there.

Concealers -Laura Mercier - Undercover Pot
kathhhh 5/4/2012 9:43:00 AM
I got this in the Flawless Face kit from Sephora. I really like the concealer and have used it all up as there isn't a lot in there. I liked this for under the eyes and used the small brush it came with to apply it and then blended it out with my ring finger or my Mac 217 brush. It did crease in the lines under my eyes though, so it's a must to set this with a powder over the top, I preferred the translucent powder for this. I haven't used the secret camouflage very much as I just feel it doesn't work well for me. The translucent powder is good, though it's small so it can be hard to use a powder brush to pick up the product. The translucent powder tends to spill a bit when you unscrew the top, but I guess that is inevitable with a loose powder. It's a good product as you get 3-in-1 and can see if you like them before considering a full-size purchase. I will probably purchase the secret concealer after finishing up by current Bobbi Brown corrector, as I think it's a good concealer for under the eyes. I wouldn't repurchase this product but would purchase the concealer or loose powder separately.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion
kathhhh 5/4/2012 9:31:00 AM
I like Dandelion. I have quite light skin NW20 so this works as a light natural blush on my skin tone. It's good for the days you just want a natural flush of colour on the cheeks, nothing too noticeable. It is a light pink with fine golden shimmer. I like the smell of it too. I have it in the older packaging, which isn't very practical as it's quite bulky and the cardboard exterior gets worn on the edges. The brush it came with was useless so I just threw it out. But overall I like this as a natural soft pink blush

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - HOOLA
kathhhh 5/4/2012 9:27:00 AM
I'm not the biggest fan of Hoola. I feel it is a bit too dark for my skin tone year round to use as a bronzer all over the face. So I really only use this to contour with my Mac 109 brush. I had high hopes for this and really wanted a nice matte bronzer to use everyday, but this isn't it. I have it in the older packaging which I don't really like as there's no mirror and it's kind of annoying to open and the cardboard gets worn down. I also threw away the brush it came with as it was scratchy and useless. I do think the new packaging is a lot better. It has a light scent which is kind of interesting and isn't offensive. I wouldn't purchase this again but I'll continue to use it for contouring.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Paint Pot in Painterly
kathhhh 5/4/2012 9:22:00 AM
I love this paint pot as a base for eyeshadows and also alone to cover up discolouration on my eyelids. It matches perfectly to my NW20 skin tone. This was my first paint pot and I think it's a staple in any collection. I usually use this after applying an eyeshadow primer first so that there is no chance of creasing later in the day and I just feel it applies better that way. Make sure you screw the lid on tight so it doesn't dry out!

Eyes -MAC - Paint Pot in Bare Study
kathhhh 5/4/2012 9:17:00 AM
I really like this paint pot. I wanted a neutral paint pot that had shimmer, and this is my second paint pot after painterly. I like to use this with an eyeshadow primer because I feel it makes it stay better and with a primer there is not chance of creasing at the end of the day. I use this under eyeshadows and also by itself when I just want a quick wash of colour over my eyelid. The lid needs to be shut really tight so that it doesn't dry out and I store this upside down, which I read was better for its longevity. I think this is a staple for every neutral eyeshadow lover!

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
kathhhh 5/4/2012 9:11:00 AM
I like this moisturiser and have used it for the past few years. It works well for my sensitive skin and I haven't had any reactions to it, unlike a lot of other reviewers have experienced. I like to use it day and night and it works well as a base under makeup. I prefer this for the warmer months and when my skin is not feeling dry, as it not thick and feels light on my skin. I like the packaging and how it has a pump and clear cap. Even though it has a yellow tint, it doesn't transfer any colour to your face once applied. My only problem is it's quite expensive in Australia at $74 for 125mL, which is ridiculously more expensive than America, where for the same size it is $23.50! So I like to buy this when I travel to the US or can get a friend/relative to buy it for me. Clinique really need to lower their prices in Australia!

Moisturizers -MAC - Strobe Cream
kathhhh 5/4/2012 9:03:00 AM
I like Strobe Cream but it's definitely not a necessity for me. I usually use this at night to go out when I spend more time on my makeup. I apply it over my primer to give me a nice glow or I mix it in with my foundation and apply it that way. If I am using a thicker foundation sometimes I like to mix this in to sheer it out. It is a pretty versatile product and that is why I like it. It could also be used as a highlighter, but I haven't tested this out. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin even though it is lightly scented, and I don't mind the smell. The tube will last a long time if you use it occasionally.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
kathhhh 5/4/2012 8:58:00 AM
I like this moisturiser and have used it on and off for the past few years. I don't like the tub-style packaging, so I usually purchase it in a tube and use the tub for body lotion. I like that this is unscented and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. It's a great basic moisturiser that is especially good for the colder months. It is quite thick, so only a small amount is needed. The only problem is that it can be too heavy for the daytime and can get a bit oily in my t-zone area. The other bad thing is the tub packaging which I feel is a bit unhygienic for the face, and the tube is only available in a small size, so it ends up being more expensive that way.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
kathhhh 5/4/2012 8:54:00 AM
I really didn't like this moisturiser, despite hearing good things about it. First of all I don't like the packaging, even though I use this with clean hands I do not like tub style packaging, especially for face products. I did not feel this did a good job of moisturising my skin, and my skin is not excessively dry just normal. It left a greasy film-like feeling on my face which was not pleasant. The fragrance is horrible, very strong and I am not a fan of such heavily scented skincare products. Overall a bad moisturiser that I wouldn't recommend to anyone!

Polishes -OPI - Rumples Wiggin
kathhhh 4/16/2012 1:46:00 PM
I love this nailpolish. It is a light lilac colour that is definitely in the pastel family. It requires 2-3 coats as 1 is just not opaque enough. I love using it on my fingers for spring as it's a perfect pastel colour.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
kathhhh 4/16/2012 1:43:00 PM
One of my all-time favorite brushes. I love it for applying foundation as it doesn't look cakey and provides a flawless finish. Sometimes I like to mist it with fix+ so that too much product is not absorbed by the brush and to ensure that it applies nicely. This is also a great brush for applying cream blushes as it blends them on the cheek very nicely and doesn't deposit too much product. A must have brush, I love it!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Satin Taupe
kathhhh 4/16/2012 1:38:00 PM
I love satin taupe! It's one of my favorites because I can wear it day or night and it always looks great. I love the colour and subtle shimmer. It applies easily, with no fallout issues. Great for those who love neutral makeup, but can also be used for darker eyes too. A staple colour.
