Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Bronze Goddess Eau Fraîche Skinscent

I grew up in Hawaii and this smells of the beach and great memories. I get creamy coconut, Hawaiian Tropic suntan oil, sea spray and even a little pineapple in there. Makes me want to lie in the sun and run sand through my fingers. A real joy to wear.

Fragrances -Tom Ford - Santal Blush
katharinesophia 11/18/2012 8:19:00 AM
I have sampled this a couple of times and this one really has a life of its own. I absolutely love the initial spray. It is a very creamy almost figgy sandalwood on me. Then as it dries down it continues to alternate between creamy sandalwood and a sharper straight up sandalwood. Literally, it will be creamy and then 5 minutes later back to the sharpness. I have received compliments on this one but can't see buying a FB, but l would be happy with a small decant as I can see it lasting forever.

Fragrances -Jo Malone - Amber Lavender

I love many other JM scents but this one does not do well with my chemistry. Reminds me of visiting my Grandfather's cattle ranch as a young girl. Unfortunately, whenever I spray this on I can't help but smell cow dung. A real scrubber for me.

Treatments (Eye) -Kiehls - Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado

Although this works well for general moisturizing purposes, I prefer an undereye cream with more anti-aging and brightening abilities. It also stings my eyes so I won't be repurchasing.

Cleansers -Estee Lauder - Perfectly Clean Splash Away Foaming Cleanser
katharinesophia 6/30/2011 4:43:00 PM
I have enjoyed using this cleanser so far this summer. I have normal skin and with the added heat and humidity this foams very well (a little goes a loooong way) and rinses off completely with no residue. The down side is that, like many other Estee Lauder products, the perfume in this product can really sting my eyes if I am not careful to rinse them completely, so I don't really love it for removing eye makeup. I doubt I would use this in the winter as it would be very drying.

Eye Shadow -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place ShadowCreme - Silver Leaf
katharinesophia 12/14/2010 2:12:00 PM
This is absolutely gorgeous. I picked this up at the CCO and was really impressed by the gorgeousgreen based taupe color, smooth application and amazing staying power. Estee Lauder makes some beautiful complex shades and the consistency is spot-on to MAC's Paint Pots (they probably are the same since they're both made by EL). This goes on well with fingers or a brush (MAC 242) and lasts all day without creasing. I use this as a lid wash by itself with a medium brown in the crease and highlight. Beautiful and polished. Can't say enough great things about this product and will be purchasing more colors in the future.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide on eyeliner in bourbon
katharinesophia 11/21/2010 10:38:00 PM
A deep bronzey brown with tiny silver glitter and my HG brown eyeliner. The glitter is very subtle and not over the top at all. Perfect for a brown smokey eye. Brightens my brown eyes. No problems with smudging. Blends easily. Will repurchase for sure.

Fragrances -Jo Malone - English Pear and Freesia

This scent is absolutely gorgeous. I bought it unsniffed and when it arrived, it was a hot humid summer day and when I sprayed it I thought it was too strong and sharp. But when the weather turned cooler, I sprayed it on one morning and was instantly in love. This is not a super sweet or flowery fragrance to me. I usually lean toward sweet vanilla gourmand scents, so this is not my normal cup of tea. The pear is much more tart and the dry down is effervescent and dry. I read somewhere that it reminded them of a pear wine, and I think that is a perfect description. Definitely a cool-weather Autumnal scent that makes me feel beautiful when I wear it. My husband loved it too, and he doesn't usually notice what I'm wearing. My new favorite scent!

Fragrances -L'Occitane - Honey & Lemon (Miel et Citron) [DISCONTINUED]
katharinesophia 10/1/2010 2:13:00 PM
A very light and warm scent that is appropriate all year long. I am drawn to gourmand scents, and on me this smells like warm lemon pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with honey. The citrus is not tangy or sharp, it is very warm and takes a backseat to the vanilla and honey. Perfect for those days where you want a comforting and uncomplicated scent. Light enough for summer wear, and warm enough for cold winter days. I picked this up at the L'Occitane outlet for 50% off as it now one of their discontinued scents. I will probably be picking up a backup or two.

Fragrances -Annick Goutal - Petite Cherie

The first time I sprayed this I detected some green notes. Then... nothing. It was just gone. After a second and more liberal application, there was a faint and sickly sweet scent that lasted for less than an hour. Then it was gone again. No dry down, no nothing. Needless to say, this just didn't work for me. I'm glad I only ordered a sample.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion For Face & Body, spf 60 PA+++
katharinesophia 9/12/2010 5:52:00 PM
To put it simply, I really love this stuff. I have tried numerous spf products that claimed to be non-greasy (I'm looking at you Neutrogena) but this fits the bill like nothing else I've tried. I researched various formulas and was interested in a Japanese sunscreen since I heard they have more of a watery consistency. That took a little getting used to but I have a hard time putting on American/European moisturizers with SPF now because they feel so thick. How I use it: I shake the bottle and use a small amount to cover my face and neck, let it dry for about 5 min and then apply makeup. My foundation or TM goes on smoothly even without a primer. Used it all summer and it didn't break me out or irritate my skin at all. Plus it really freakin works. My face never got burned even through sweating, days at the pool, etc. The packaging is cute too. My two year old daughter likes to sneak into my drawer and try to steal it cause she likes the bright blue colored bottle. I will definitely repurchase unless I find something better.

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Pale Mauve Lip Color
katharinesophia 9/11/2010 6:35:00 PM
This is a beautiful pinky nude that profides decent coverage, moisturizes, stays for several hours and looks natural no matter how dry my lips are. If you are looking for a "nude" lip that doesn't make you look dead I highly recommend this lippie. I had been using MAC Hue, but the formula of this is much better and the color more flattering on my skintone.

Just gross. Gross formula and the color completely washes me out and gives me that "dead" look. There are many better options out there.

Another great Black Label lipstick (I also like Diva). A moisturizing formula at a great price point. Very impressed. Just wish they were more widely available in stores.

Lipstick -MAC - jazzed lipstick
katharinesophia 7/9/2010 8:44:00 AM
This is a very pretty and wearable color (NW25) and I think this would be a universally flattering shade for most. Very similar to YSL Rouge Volupte #26 (Tender Peach), but Jazzed is less creamy and has better staying power. A little drying. Don't think I would repurchase as there are other options out there.
