Lip Gloss -Bobbi Brown - Nude Gloss
rated 5 of 5
karinatwork 1/13/2008 11:34:00 PM

This is it! This is truly the most natural, most flattering, most oustanding lipgloss shade I have EVER tried. It is beautiful. Not too pink, not too brown, not too light, not too dark. Just right. Absolute HG. The brush sucks, it's expensive too. But the colour and consistency are wonderful, and the packaging is cute too. I wear it over Slopes lipstick and it's an evening out, or on my bare lips and I look polished and beautiful. TRY THIS!

Moisturizers -Bobbi Brown - Vitamin Enriched Face Base
rated 4 of 5
karinatwork 12/21/2007 12:27:00 AM

Whoa! This is nice. I have only used it for two days now, but I'm already impressed. Of course, it might end up bad (blackheads, breakouts, rashes, who knows...) but for now my skin feels supersoft, supersmooth and a lot more even toned. I was worried that the cream would burn on contact, because of the strong smell, but it does not, not even on my eyes. The smell, well, I'm willing to put up with it if continues working this well. The product is fairly hard to apply, it's thick and absorbs so quickly that it's hard to spread. It also doesn't seem like it's making my skin any softer right after I applied it - it feels weird, almost dry. But after a few minutes it softens my skin and seems to nourish it, without even feeling greasy. A very weird cream, but it works. I'll update later if it breaks me out.

Lip Liners -Bobbi Brown - Lipliner in Rum Raisin
rated 4 of 5
karinatwork 12/21/2007 12:21:00 AM

I've been trying to find the perfect liner for my lips from my now favorite makeup brand. I tried Mauve, which was too light and not cool enough, Rose, which was too red, and now Rum Raisin, which is almost perfect. A little bit darker than I hoped, but definitively the right tone. It's neutral enough, not to cool and not too much brown. I definitively need a deep colour to line my lips (I know it sounds bad but my lips look feathered with a liner that's too light), and this one is just a teeny bit darker than my lips, but the exact match. It works with all my lipsticks. I gave it 4 lippies because I prefer a mechanical pencil and it's quite expensive, but I love how creamy it is and how nicely it applies. Will buy again.

Palettes -Bobbi Brown - best of chocolate
rated 3 of 5
karinatwork 12/21/2007 12:13:00 AM

I bought this product unseen from the Bobbi Brown website. I thought I would need a handy palette to take with me for travelling. Unfortunately, it's not quite what I expected. The shadows are nice, but not as nice as my own combination of the perfect eye shadows for my complexion, and from all three glosses I like only one. For that price, I can't keep it because I already know I wont use it.

Crème -Bobbi Brown - moisturizing cream compact
rated 3 of 5
karinatwork 11/22/2007 5:12:00 PM

I received a generous sample of this, and although I am dry and wanted to love it, I cannot. The colours do indeed run dark. This in Warm Ivory is definitively darker than the foundation stick in the same colour. By afternoon, this has started to slide off my face. It pools in certain areas and disappears in others. Not a pretty picture. It does not aggravate the dry spots or flakes on my skin, but it doesn't do much to cover the redness either. All in all, not worth the money... BB Luminous on the other hand... but that's another review. :)

Lipstick -Bobbi Brown - Lip Color - Sandwash Pink #22
rated 5 of 5
karinatwork 11/6/2007 11:24:00 AM

Bobbi Brown's lipsticks smell like my mom's lipsticks when I was a kid. It's not a flattering scent, but for me it's remeniscient of good times! :) However, the formula is awesome, it stays put for a long time and it's actually not drying when I put a dab of gloss over it. The colour of Sandwash Pink is BEAUTIFUL! It's YLBB - actually, it's my lips but a lot, LOT better. It brightens up my whole complexion, makes my lips appear larger because it's light, but not too light to make me appear washed out. It is a beautiful soft pink, no hint of brown or orange. My favorite lipstick right now by far. Will repurchase!

Liquid -Bobbi Brown - Luminous Moisturizing Foundation
rated 5 of 5
karinatwork 11/5/2007 10:05:00 PM

Wonderful product. I've searched for this so long, and bought a tester size of this on Ebay. I loved it right away. It doesn't sting my oh-so-sensitive skin, it doesn't clogg my pores and it does a beautiful job of evening out my skintone, covering up redness. I still need a concealer for the occasional spot. I do like the coverage a lot, not too little, not too much. I tend to flakiness in the afternoon in my dry office, and this foundation has helped a bit. I apply it with the BB foundation brush (which is genious) and then gently press the foundation in with my flat hands. I do however press tissue paper on my eye lids, because if I don't, my eyeshadow will crease in the afternoon. It is after all a moisturizing foundation. I love the shades, I love the consistency, I don't love the bottle or the price, but I will repurchase!

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Bone
rated 5 of 5
karinatwork 11/5/2007 9:47:00 PM

This has replaced two products: First, I don't use the UDPP anymore. Then I don't need another highlighter. This does both. It perfectly highlights my entire lid area from lashes to brows without any shimmer, and this plus the eye shadows on top will not crease all day long. I recommend you using the proper brush for this as the jar is very awkward and hard to reach into with long fingernails. The brush works well to apply the cream shadow to the lid, and you can also blend with it. I prefer adding the shadow to the lid and then blend with my fingers, so it's even more sheer. Top product. Will repurchase.

Mascara -Bobbi Brown - Everything Mascara
rated 5 of 5
karinatwork 10/9/2007 12:53:00 AM

I as well do not understand the very negative comments about this product. I purchased a full size tube of this on Ebay (!), expecting nothing, and I got an amazing mascara that works exactly as described. It does it all. It lengthens and thickens my lashes, it does not smudge, flake or smear, and no clumps either. I even bought a Tweezerman lash comb just in case, but I haven't needed it yet. This stuff is amazing. The brush somehow gets the lashes separated and thickened at the same time. I wish it wasn't so expensive, but there is always Ebay.

Lips -Bobbi Brown - Tinted Lipbalm in Pink Raspberry
rated 4 of 5
karinatwork 9/23/2007 8:03:00 PM

Love the idea of having a tinted lipbalm in a stick. I liked the MAC ones but I would not reapply during the day simply because I don't like having to use my fingers or a brush. The BB lip balms are really moisturizing and add quite a bit of colour, actually. It a no fuss packaging that I don't mind pulling out of my purse and it applies with no problems. The colour is a dark, blueish pink purple, and I am not sure if I would repurchase it, because it's a bit dark for me (NC15). However, I am going to try out the other shades, because it moisturizes well, looks great and feels great. And it has NO SCENT (which I love). http://img.makeupalley.com/5/6/1/9/766110.JPG

Lipstick -MAC - Slimshine in Bare ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
karinatwork 8/20/2007 11:07:00 AM

This colour has now become another staple of mine. I don't know how you can call something "a staple" after only having it worn for a weekend, but I can't stop looking at the mirror - it looks so good. I look polished and nice without looking fake or over the top, and that's no easy deed. I just received an email from MAC telling me that the slimshines will become a permanent MAC item starting in January 2008. Hopefully it will include Bare. EDIT: I am sorry to report that the slimshines are way to goopy for me. I have since moved on to better quality lipsticks.

Lipstick -MAC - Scant Slimshine
rated 3 of 5
karinatwork 8/18/2007 10:23:00 PM

What a nice colour! Scant is almost exactly my lip colour, but depending on which light I am in, I see a slight shade of brown in it, sometimes blue, it's killing me because it's always different. But certainly it's a very nice YLBB lipstick that doesn't wash me out and makes my lips look fabulous! The formula is great, well worth the extra money that this size lipstick costs in comparison with the regular size. Also, it does not seem to dry my lips out at all, and the colour lasts quite a while on my lips, surprisingly enough for a moisturizing formula like this. This lipstick does NOT have the overpowering vanilla smell of the regular MAC lipsticks. It's very nice. EDIT: This seemed to turn orange on me. How strange. :(

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Active Moist
rated 2 of 5
karinatwork 8/14/2007 12:50:00 AM

It burned on contact, plus it didn't moisturize. Too much lavender is irritating my skin. But at least it didn't clog my pores.

Scrubs -Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant
rated 5 of 5
karinatwork 8/14/2007 12:49:00 AM

In all fairness, I have to say that it works well. But this is way too harsh to use every day, at least I cannot use it every day. It would kill my skin. But for people with more resilient skin, go for it. EDIT: I am now using it every day and I really notice when I don't. Love it!

Treatments -Dermalogica - Concealing Spot Treatment
rated 1 of 5
karinatwork 8/9/2007 4:08:00 PM

This is basically a thin, watery liquid that looks like chocolate milk. And it applies like chocolate milk. It doesn't conceal a thing, and it doesn't heal a thing. I have used a 3 ml sample for the last week or so and I can honestly say: Don't waste your money on this one.
