Moisturizers -Origins - VitaZing SPF 15 Energy-boosting moisturizer with Mangosteen

I've been using this as a tinted moisturizer, and I'm very happy with it. For starters, it's the only TM I've ever used that I haven't had to wear over regular moisturizer (though we'll see if that's still true in the winter). I use my regular concealer and a little translucent powder over the Vitazing, and I'm good to go. It provides sheer coverage, evens my skin tone, and looks totally natural. My forehead does get a little shiny by mid-day, but I've never found a product that prevented that from happening. I'm not sure this would work with every skin tone, but it's worth a try. Also, the price is comparable to other mid-range TMs. For reference, Clinique's is about $26 for 1.0 oz, and this is $35 for 1.7 oz.

I've used this daily for years. I can definitely tell a difference if I skip a couple of days. I will continue purchasing this over and over.

Hair -Kiehls - Klaus Heidegger's All Sport Everyday Shampoo
rated 5 of 5

I actually really like this shampoo. I have long, highlighted slightly wavy hair, and I shampoo every day. Lately, I've had problems with build-up from shampoos and conditioners that I've used for a while. Not sure why, but I have to clarify every few days or my hair feels yucky. But, not with the All-Sport shampoo. It's light and doesn't lather (which is only due to detergent anyway), and my hair stays super-shiny without the buildup. I use this with the Grooming Aid as a conditioner. UPDATE: I've been using this, on average, about 2-3 times per week for about a year and a half, and I noticed recently that my hair just seemed duller and drier than it had before. I am so glad I read the review saying that the formulation has changed. So sad! I'm not using this again. :(

Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Minted Rose Lip Balm
rated 4 of 5

Use this salve all the time. I had the original Rosebud for a while, then switched to the mint. I'll get away from it for a while, but I always go back to it!

Lipstick -Clinique - Butter Shine in Pink Toffee
rated 4 of 5

I love the buttershine l/s in general--they're so smooth and shiny! Perfect for a lipgloss lover who occasionally enjoys something more pigmented. Pink Toffee is a nice pinkish brown (more brown than pink). I'm NC30 with brown hair and green eyes. I can dab it on for just a touch of color or apply with a heavier hand for color that stands out. Also, this doesn't look like any of my other l/s, which was a big plus!

Absolutely gorgeous--I'm always looking for the perfect l/g, and this is the closest I've found. It might be the only item I'll ever buy a back-up for too!

Lip Gloss -MAC - Sexy Sweet
rated 4 of 5
karensuzanne 6/27/2005 11:26:00 PM

I realized that most of my many lipglosses are all about the same color, and I was drawn to this one b/c it's different. I'm an NC30 with brown hair and green eyes, and I'm loving this color. Also, it's a great golden-bronze summer shade! (Not too intense though).

No complaints here! I'm an NC30, and it's a nice, sheer berry. Good to use for a slick of color when you're in a hurry or don't have a mirror. I like the texture too--not too sticky!

Shampoo -Korres - Juniper and Olive Tree Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
karensuzanne 6/18/2005 3:55:00 PM

I love Korres products but wasn't very optimistic about their shampoos after reading reviews for some of them. I couldn't find one for Juniper and Olive Tree, so I decided to take a gamble--and I'm really glad I did! I have highlighed, somewhat dry hair--it was long when bought the shampoo but I since cut it to my shoulders, and the shampoo has worked well for my hair at both lengths. It smells good and is moisturizing but not heavy--great for the summer! I follow with the Acacia Milk conditioner, and the two are a lovely combination. Absolutely no complaints. One interesting thing I noticed was that the natural wave in my hair seems enhanced by these products--I usually smooth it out with a round brush while I blow-dry, which isn't a problem. These products may be especially good for curls though.

Liquid -MAC - Select Tint SPF 15 ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
karensuzanne 6/18/2005 3:48:00 PM

I was pleasantly suprised by this t/m. I have combination skin but haven't had as many problems with my face becoming greasy later in the day with this on. I finish with Blot Powder and reapply the powder at night if I go out after work (and occasionally in the middle of the afternoon on the hottest of summer days). Very sheer and natural coverage--perfect for someone who doesn't want to wear "real" foundation!

I really love this--the pigment is great, sort of a deep pink. And all of the Tinted Lip Treatments feel so good!

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Medium/Dark
rated 3 of 5
karensuzanne 6/9/2005 3:01:00 PM

Not sure if I would buy this again. It's OK, no major problems, but I don't think it's that special. And the colors are limited, and the names don't really correspond to the shades (I usually wear p/p with names like "fair").

Eye Shadow -MAC - Lucky Green

This is probably the only green e/s I've ever LOVED. It's very versatile and goes well with blue, copper, bronze, and neutrals!

Just got this last night when I went to check out the BA collection--love at first sight! It's such a lovely shimmery neutral with a touch of pink, and it's an extremely versatile addition to my MU collection.

Such a fun purple! I didn't think I would like this one. Also, likely b/c of my green eyes, MAs always put purple on me, and I don't wear it that often. But I think this one will be great for summer evenings (the MA applied it with Deckchair pigment and Saddle for the crease), or applied with a very light hand for more daring days at the office.
