Blush -NARS - Sertao [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
kami 4/28/2006 2:50:00 PM

Would I buy this again! Absolutely! Over and over again! This is going to be the first blush I actually use up! As I have mentioned before, I have really big, pronounced cheekbones. I find that blushes with too much color tend to make me look clownish no matter how lightly I apply because of the size of my cheeks. My previous favorites were Mac Trace Gold, Nars Silvana, Zen & Madly. This beautiful blush described by many below is indeed a tawny golden tan shade. This is what I wanted LM crushed hazelnut to be on my skintone, but it barely shows up. Sertao defines my cheeks and makes them look modelesque. When I want more oomph I simply apply this over the Nars Guele de Nuit. Since it is like my skintone but slightly darker, this blush is goof proof. Gosh, I love this! For reference, I am between Mac C35 & C40, GA LSF 6.5 or Nars Barcelona. MMM, HHH, GGG Medium tan yellow-olive skintone. Black hair, dark brown eyes.

Blush -NARS - Madly
rated 5 of 5

This has to be a potential HG blush. My cheeks are huge so I prefer subtle shades of blush, rather than bright ones. Previously I was devoted to Nars Silvana, but I may end up swapping that one away now. This color is like a mix of Zen, Silvana & Penny Lane. I have all of the previous blushes but each is missing something. Madly combines them all into my perfect blushing shade. For reference I am a Mac C35/40 light tan olive (HHH)with black hair and dark brown eyes. UPDATE: I recently tried Nars Sertao, and I am sorry but even though I still love Madly, Sertao is now my HG!UPDATE2: I have a slight tan and Madly no longer shows up on me! Too bad, guess I am going to end up swapping it.

Powder -NARS - Powder Foundation
rated 5 of 5
kami 11/29/2005 5:45:00 PM

First off, let me say I have tried numerous powder foundations over the past 5 years. This will have to be one of the top 3 for me. I have an extremely hard to skintone to match thanks to my native american, black & creole ancestry. I would describe my skintone as a light tan with yellow-olive undertones. I am between a Mac C35 & C40. I chose to go with the shade St. Tropez and found a great match. This is a sheer to light coverage makeup that allows your natural skintone to show through. Another plus, it doesn't cause breakouts for my combo skin. Last thing I need is to undo all of the work of my benzaclin. I will definitely by this product again, and I do hope he comes out with refills. The package is bulky but I like it.

Blush -NARS - Silvana

This is one of my HG blush shades! I absolutely love this shade! On my HHH, C40/GA 6.5/Stila 50 Watts/Becca Honey complexion this comes off as a light bronzey tan with peach. Yes, a honey/caramel/golden ladies dream blush. This is not so pigmented that I need to use a light hand, it almost just blends in with my skintone and naturally warms up my skin. I have black hair, dark brown eyes and my cheeks are huge, like Janet Jacksons'. Therefore I find that subtle shades of blush look best on me since I prefer to define my eyes instead. A definite must have for me. I wish sephora would start carrying this!

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Smoke
rated 5 of 5
kami 3/20/2005 5:48:00 PM

First let me say, in my more than 5 years on MUA I have tested numerous shades for my eyebrows. My problem is that my eyebrow hairs are black. Whenever I use brown, dark brown, taupe etc it always looks fake compared to my black hair. However, smoke which is what it truly looks like is perfect. It make my eyebrows perfect. I apply it with the Mac 208 brush very lightly to define. I *always* get compliments on my brows. I have finally found my HG brow powder and since you get so much, I will probably have this for years! HHH, Mac C40, GA 6.5, Becca Honey. Light tan olive skintone.

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Fast and Flawless Airbrush foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
kami 3/9/2005 5:45:00 PM

Took me awhile to track this down, but boy am I glad I found this! I usually use Becca's system of concealer, LSC/TGE & face powder. However, I have found that this is an even better match for me. I chose the shade Nude Tan. It is actually a light tan yellow/olive. Most other foundations are more of an yellow/orange but this is my *PERFECT* match for my complexion. At least my pretan complexion. Now I only have to worry about finding it since it seems to be sold out everywhere! HHH Mac C40, GA 6.5,Becca Honey UPDATE 3/22/2005: I called Sally Hansen and was told that Nude Tan was no longer the name. It is now called Nude. I will have to test that one and see. UPDATE2:Hmmm, I have found that my walgreens stocks this and the only color they get is called Nude Tan. So maybe the name is different depending on where you get it.

Highlighters -Becca - Angel Loose Shimmer Powder
rated 4 of 5
kami 3/4/2005 2:14:00 PM

First let me say, the only reason this gets a 4 instead of 5 is that I can only use it on my eyes. It is a very light pale pink, indeed reminiscent of an angel. Gives me that fresh awake look when I use it. This and Hyawatha are my HG highlighting shades for my eyes. HHH Black hair, dark brown eyes. Light tan olive skintone.

Highlighters -Becca - 'GYPSY' Loose Shimmer Powder
rated 5 of 5
kami 3/4/2005 2:09:00 PM

Another one of my many must haves from Becca. I find that this shade looks best as a blush or added in with clear lipgloss to make a darker version of Mac nymphette or Nars Orgasm Lipgloss. The color is a light fuschia with golden shimmer. Very pretty. I can see this color working for all skintones, except maybe a natural or bottled strawberry redhead.

Highlighters -Becca - Athena pressed shimmer powder
rated 5 of 5
kami 3/4/2005 2:07:00 PM

First I want to say thank you to Mare for allowing me to get this item since I have never heard or seen it before. This is a beautiful golden bronze shade. Looks kinda like Tango in pressed powder form. This makes a nice bronzer or natural glow shade for my HHH skin. Very pretty, I would say it may even be considered the child of aphrodite pressed and tango loose. Mac C40, HHH Black hair, dark brown eyes. Light tan olive skin tone.*UPDATE* Seems like Bergdorf Goodman is the only place to buy this for now.

Lip Liners -MAC - Hover
rated 5 of 5
kami 2/18/2005 4:08:00 PM

This looks like the warm version of spice. There is no pink. This is like a golden peachy brown. A new HG for me. Turned my almost swapped away blankety into a wearable lipstick for me. I will never be without this, Stripdown, spice & hodgepodge. Mac C40/Becca Honey SF, Toast or Tan LSC, GA 6.5.HHH

Highlighters -Becca - Topaz shimmering skin perfector
rated 5 of 5
kami 2/18/2005 4:05:00 PM

This looks like it would be the offspring of the Gold & Bronze SSP. I didn't like bronze, it was too dark and brown. This is similar but lighter and golder. I think this would make a great tinted bronzer. I like to use it on cheeks and nose to give a bronzed glow. Mac C40/Becca Honey SF, LSC Toast or Tan, GA 6.5. HHH Light tan olive skintone.

Highlighters -Becca - Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector
rated 5 of 5
kami 2/18/2005 4:01:00 PM

This is what I wanted Pearl SSP to be on my skintone. Unfortunately, pearl was a bit to ashy for me. IMO, I think this is what pearl & gold SSP's would look like if blended. Anyway, it is a beigey opalescent shade. A HG liquid highligter for me. Mac C40/Becca Honey, GA 6.5.HHH LIght tan olive skintone.

Lipstick -MAC - Underplay [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
kami 2/2/2005 11:46:00 AM

This is one of my HG nude lippys. The other being Christian Dior Serene Beige. This as everyone else has said is like the color of milky caramel, perfect for anyone with yellow or golden undertones to your skin. It doesn't look like concealer because it has more color than that. I like to pair this with hodgepode, spice or stripdown liners. For more oomph, I apply Mac Nymphette or Chanel Pinup or Ginger on top. A staple, I am on my 3rd tube. HHH, Mac C40/ GA 6.5 / Becca Honey SF

Eye Shadow -Becca - Powder Eye Shadow in Satin
rated 5 of 5
kami 2/1/2005 1:48:00 PM

This is another great color. I love the fact that all of becca's powder shadows are natural shades that just make your eyes look naturally beautiful. This is a medium beigey-brown with shimmer. Looks great paired with Brocade & Lurex. I absolutely love everything becca. My poor wallet! For reference, I am an HHH, Mac C40/ GA 6.5/ Becca Honey SF.

Eye Shadow -Becca - Powder eyeshadow in Brocade
rated 5 of 5
kami 2/1/2005 1:46:00 PM

This is like a less shimmery version of Mac tempting. I have both and prefer tempting when I want more oomph. Brocade is much more subdued. But still it is a medium golden brown with gold shimmer or should I say a golden glow. HHH, Mac C40/ GA 6.5/ Becca Honey SF.
