Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
rated 5 of 5
kameelah 11/24/2012 7:15:00 PM

I love this mascara. This was the first tube of mascara I ever finished! It's super black and thickens my lashes beautifully with multiple layers. It gives you that glamorous eye look so might not be your thing if you're looking for really natural lashes. This can get clumpy so make sure to wipe off the excess wand on the mascara before you apply! Good price so it's my go to, especially when I'm broke. Haha.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
rated 2 of 5
kameelah 9/14/2012 5:30:00 AM

I got this with my too faced palette and was pretty disappointed. Within a couple of hours, my eyeshadow had creased and melted off my eyelids. Even though I do have really oily eyelids I definitely expected something more. Especially since it's pretty expensive for less than half an ounce of product. Also, after a while, the product that comes out of the tube separates a little and expels an oily mess. Will not purchase... I'll just stick with my trusty urban decay potion primer.

Bronzers -Too Faced - Chocolate Soleil
rated 5 of 5
kameelah 9/14/2012 5:16:00 AM

Pros: - contours my olive skin nicely - well-pigmented, so it'll last a while - lovely, sturdy packaging with a nice big mirror - smells like chocolate (duh) yumm! - decent staying power - smooth, buildable, and blendable Cons: - expensive! ($29 at sephora) Overall, this bronzer is a really beautiful matte color that looks effortlessly beautiful. I would definitely repurchase again

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics - They're Real
rated 3 of 5
kameelah 12/28/2011 2:11:00 AM

BeneFit products are super expensive so thankfully I received a free sample instead. Pros: - Very Pigmented - Holds a decent curl Cons: - Hard to build once dry - Painfully hard brush!! - unnaturally looking Overall, I definitely would not buy a full size version of the product. It hurt the rims of my eyes too much to even apply and the ending look just didn't look full, separated, or natural.

Eyeliner -New York Color - Liquid Eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
kameelah 12/31/2010 5:50:00 AM

This is my go-to liquid eyeliner. I have extremely oily eyelids and the only type of eyeliner that will stick to them is liquid... even with primer and shadow on top, creams, gels, pencils, whatever... they all seem to smudge like crazy in the inner corner of my eyes. I don't really like to spend crazy amounts of money on liquid eyeliners, so this drugstore brand is just perfect for me. What is it... like 2 bucks? Steaaaal. Plus, I've tried other liquid drugstore eyeliners (L'Oreal, Rimmel, Maybeline, etc.) and have been disappointed with their staying power. Maybe it's my oily eyelids (haha), but this eyeliner doesn't quickly flake on me like on others, but at the same time, it doesn't last forever (probably around 6 hours of good wear). Many don't like the brush, but I actually prefer it to felt tips since it gives me more control and precision, although it is difficult to use at first. I find it glides on easily and easy to remove if I make a mistake, but it does take a tad bit longer to dry if you pile it on. Overall, this is one of the staples in my makeup drawers and gives me a quick, defining and dramatic look in seconds. I suggest you try it if you have horribly oily eyelids like me and want something to stick to them :].

Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Extase Flash Plumping Mascara
rated 4 of 5
kameelah 12/31/2010 5:31:00 AM

I received this as a sample size and really like it! This mascara is truly lengthening, defining, nourishing... Fantastic! I like it better than the regular Diorshow, but I do sometimes layer on Diorshow to thicken the base of my lashes a little more. I feel like this mascara is all about technique. The brush is tiered-like, which although I do enjoy during the actual application process, makes more product adhere to the concave parts of the brush. A quick, soft wipe of these parts on the edge of the tube provides an even distribution of mascara :]. I tend to start at the tips of my lashes to add length then coat the base of my lashes. I also use the tip of the brush to get at my most inner and most outer lashes for perfect definition. I find this technique works best for me and since I've mastered it, takes little time to do. Pros: - Healthy, nourished lashes that don't look dried out - Beautiful length and definition - Brush - Little to nooooo smudging!!! Cons: - Price ($28) - Brush (Although I do like the idea of the brush, it takes manipulation to get the right amount of product and application) - Wish there was more volume Overall, I would by this mascara again. Although it's not really perfect for that "natural" look, it's a doable daytime and fantastic nighttime look. I looove mascaras, so I'll be on the hunt for my best mascaras and will probably be going back to this baby [;.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Clear Complexion Cream Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
kameelah 12/31/2010 5:11:00 AM

I've used a bunch of facial cleaners from labels such as Proactiv, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear... the list goes on, and I have to say, I really like this one. After Proactiv kinda controlled my major acne problems during middle/early high school, I was on the hunt to find an easy, mild yet effective cleanser that wouldn't dry out my skin, provide a nice balance, and get ride of the tiny bumps around my jaw line. On a whim at a drugstore, I bought this to try it out. Although it's not really cheap for a drugstore brand, I would say it's worth it. Pros: - Leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, and balanced (not dried out, not greasy) - I've noticed softer, more even skin and less obvious pores - Got rid of the tiny bumps around my jaw - Very rare and minor breakouts... as in 1 pimple, if any (I guess most would prefer none, but with my skin history... win!) Cons: - Doesn't smell as nice as I would like, but no Aveeno products really smell nice - Not that great or fast at getting rid of big pimples Overall, I'm pleased with the feel of the product as it feels like it's cleaning without stripping my face of everything good. I would purchase again :].

Eye Makeup Remover -Unlisted Brand - Target - Up & Up Makeup Remover
rated 4 of 5
kameelah 12/31/2010 4:42:00 AM

The Neutrogena dupe (purple bottle from target) is really good. Prior to finding this, I've used Almay (boo!), Sonia Kashuk, and Neutrogena and I always found myself going back to Neutrogena. I decided to try this since it was cheaper, and I'm glad I did. In some ways, I actually like it better than the Neutrogena one because I found it to have a milder residue that left my eyelids less greasier. I also found it to remove my makeup much faster and easier. However, I noticed after a while, it started to dry out the skin around my eyes and left patches. These patches were intensified by the winter weather and by the fact that I skipped out on moisturizer most days. After I restarted my daily moisturizing regiment, however, these patches soon disappeared and never returned. Another bummer was the packaging. Maybe it was just my bottle, but when I traveled with it, it spilled. :[ I guess the cap doesn't completely seal it... Thank goodness it was in a small plastic bag. Overall, I would most likely purchase this again because of the price and pretty good quality. :]

Blush -NARS - Madly
rated 5 of 5
kameelah 10/9/2010 10:50:00 PM

I went looking for a nice blush that would leave me looking fresh super natural. First, I tried Orgasm... I found it to be too pink for my tanned skin. I tried Madly next and I love it! It's very natural looking and despite the way it looks in the pan, gives a nice pinky/neutral/peachy color to my cheeks. :]

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
kameelah 9/18/2010 12:14:00 AM

This is one of the worst shampoos I have ever used. It stripped my hair of everything good and natural. My scalp rebelled against it, producing twice as much oil as usual while leaving my ends driiiied out... a paradoxical mess. would not buy again.

Shampoo -Dove - Intense damage therapy-with serum
rated 5 of 5
kameelah 9/18/2010 12:02:00 AM

I try a lot of shampoos, but I always end up coming back to this one. It moisturizes my hair and leaves it nice and clean without weighing it down. Definitely leaves it smooth and easy to manage. In fact, I find it leaves my hair feeling so great that I've started to embrace my natural hair and put my straightener away. Put a little anti-frizz serum, throw it in a bun while i get ready, and my natural wavy-ish hair has never looked better.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 5 of 5
kameelah 9/2/2010 4:59:00 PM

I'm not really into crazy bright eyeshadows, so this palette is perfect for me. After weeks and weeks of trying to get it, I finally snagged one from Sephora like a month ago and I've been using it nonstop! The $44 price tag might throw you off, but the amount of product you get is insane. And the colors! OMG, sooo beautiful! And their full size!!! Now, if you're looking for a good matte palette, this may not be for you since there are only 2 matte eyeshadows. But if you love neutrals, like I do, GO GET IT!! There's a nice blend of satins, mattes, shimmers, everything!!! that just make it so easy to use everyday from day to night. Thank God UD did not make this limited edition.... so if you're still trying to get yours, don't worry! You'll get it eventually and it'll totally be worth it! :]

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
rated 5 of 5
kameelah 9/2/2010 4:55:00 AM

I love this product!!! It's so creamy and blendable. Never creases on me either! I use it to take care under eye circles that come with college life and it works wonders! When I first got it, I was surprised at how small it was for the price. But I must say, it lasts a long time. Will definitely re-purchase!

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero
rated 4 of 5
kameelah 9/2/2010 4:51:00 AM

Having pretty oily eyelids, I found that this eyeliner doesn't stay where it's supposed to on my eyes when I wear it alone. yiikes. Also, I find that because it is a pencil, I can't really make the thinest lines possible. With all that said, I still love this product because it glides exceptionally well! It also smudges really nicely when I'm going for that smokey eye look. Zero is a nice, typical color, but I what I really love are the other colors that give me a pop of color on my waterline and lower last line! Kinda expensive, but the way I use it, it lasts really long :].

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel Eyeliner
rated 4 of 5
kameelah 9/2/2010 4:44:00 AM

I love Bobbi Brown's gel liners! It glides really well across the eyelid and it's easy to draw thin or thick lines. It is pretty expensive, but the product lasts a long time, even if it is a tiny pot. The color does fade a little on my oily eyelids after a long day, but not too bad at all. Long lasting indeed :]
