Fragrances -Hermes - Un Jardin Apres La Mousson
kaltblutig 2/22/2013 9:31:00 AM
This the most wonderful scentI have ever come across. Quite literally, when I smelled this I thought: this is what paradise smells. i'd never smelled anything quite like it: it smells of cardamon (which I usually avoid), herbs, pepper and... water, somehow? I'm not good at describing fragrance, I never know the right words/notes. But this is wondrous! My only gripe with this is that it does not last long on my skin. Oh, and the price.... This is a sophisticated, refreshing, not sweet, original perfume. It awakens the adventurer in me and I love it.

Lipstick -Unlisted Brand - Bouquet
kaltblutig 1/30/2013 12:32:00 PM
I am crazy about Bite Beauty. All of their products are of amazing quality. I like that their collection is streamlined, only lipstuff, all natural. Bouquet is a wonderful, warmish pink color without being a coral. I have very pigmented lips, therefore, light pinks barely ever show on my lips. I was resignated to wear only intense fuschia colours, since I was not ready to go the Nicki Minaj route. Candy/neon pinks often look ridiculous on me, the whitish base/overcast makes me look dead--not a good look, amirite? Bouquet is different: it is pigmented enough to actually show on my lips, without looking like plaster/candy paint. 2 different person complimented me yesterday as I was wearing it: always a good sign. The texture is creamy, not too thick but not really hydrating, without being drying. I reapply after 3-4 hours but I'm a compulsive blotter and I'm always drinking water. Overall: I really like this lipstick, I will repurchase it and I highly recommend it to girls who are looking for a pink office appropriate but non-boring pink lipstick.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Trio - Shimmering Sands
kaltblutig 5/15/2012 2:37:00 PM
Wow. I remember this trio being one of the first one I have ever owned, like 12 years ago, and here I am, buying it again! After years of buying all kinds of crazy unflattering colors, I am back to neutrals and I realise that i don,t actually need 15 different colors: I am not a make up artist. And between you and me: i can barely differentiate between this or that shade of beige/brown/neutral. All that being said: this little CG trio is perfect for my needs: I want my eyes to look less tired and subtly defined, without the makeup overpowering my face. These colors do just that. Of course, the color payoff is not amazing, but it is still great for 7,00$CDN. This trio is perfect for everyday.

Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm in Pink Punch
kaltblutig 4/15/2012 6:16:00 PM
Oh baby lips, I like you alot. When it came on sale for 4,99CDN at my drugstore, I couldn,t resist, even though I find the packaging a bit tacky and the name... sexist/juvenile mayhaps? Well, it is a good product. SPF 20 is almost the highest spf I have ever come across on a drugstore product (excluding Laroche Posay but that product makes my lips look like dead flesh--yuck). I like the crazy neon pink: very fun and it will be great this summer. It is very pigmented and it has a tendency to pool on the rough parts of your lips if they are not perfectly smooth. I cannot say that it is super moisturizing, just average. The smell is okay.

Lip Gloss -Essence - Stay With Me
kaltblutig 4/15/2012 6:01:00 PM
Wow. I am so surprised by how good these are! I'm not a big fan of gloss, but when my drugstore installed a brand new Essence kiosk 2 weeks ago, I was intrigued. After reading reviews here about how great the glosses were, i HAD to try one out. At my local Pharmaprix/shoppers, they retail for a mere 2,99 CDN. The packaging is super sturdy, waaaaay better than say Maybelline or Loréal. Impressive. The glosses aren't sealed though, so make sure you grab one from the back of the row or ask a saleslady. There were only 3 choice of color left when I got there and fortunately, Candy bar the color I wanted, was there :) I am very impressed by how smooth and non tacky my new gloss is. As for time of wear, I cannot tell yet, but it isn't a big issue for me because I like to reapply. The color is great : a warm creamy coral, great for any season/occasion. One of the best drugstore buys as of late. I think I'm in love :)

Lipstick -Make Up For Ever - Rouge Artist Intense #36
kaltblutig 2/22/2012 8:40:00 PM
Most.excellent.lipstick.ever! I wasn't really drawn to that line of makeup but I became aware of it when Allure featured it as one of the best lipstick around. This is my 2nd shade of MUFE's rouge artist intense and boy, am I in love! I can't believe how great the color is! Neon fuschia with blue-ish undertones, and it is strangely flattering (much more so than, say, Fuchsia Fever or Candy Yum Yum). The texture is great: very creamy, easy to apply, not too drying and SUPER pigmented. MUFE's lipsticks are definitely the best I've tried. Will rebuy.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational - Fuchsia Fever
kaltblutig 2/11/2012 2:18:00 PM
After reading reviews here, i went on a hunt to find this shade. It wasn't easy, I had to go to at least 5 or 6 drugstores to find it (I found it in a grocery store, can you believe it?). I've never been a fan on Maybelline, I find their ads tacky and their packaging cheap. But since CG upped the ante with their new line of lipsticks, which I LOVE, I thought Maybelline had embarked on the bandwagon... Well, not really. Fuchsia fever's packaging is not great; I'm afraid it's gonna break if I ever--God forbid--drop the thing. I don't like it when the base and the cap don't align+ close perfectly (as MAC's and MUFE's do). The lipstick itself: ah, that smell! It smells like Play-Doh and that is not a good thing. it is so strong that when I sampled it on my hand, the smell lingered, and lingered. Gross. The texture: it smooths on creamy, easily. My only gripe is that you really do have to put in many layers to get the real color The color: it really is BLUE-based, not Barbie-pink (if find barbie's color to be warmer), so in the dead of winter, it is a big no-no. With a slight tan, it might look good but with my pasty skin, it looks almost frosty-pink. In conclusion: fun color for spring perhaps, but it is more a fad IMO. It is fun though. I like the creamy-ness of the product and the fact that it is not expensive. I will not, however, re-buy this--the smell drives me NUTS.

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
kaltblutig 2/11/2012 1:51:00 PM
I have mixed feelings about this. I bought it after I read the reviews on XOjane.com and on a few other blogs I read. First of, what I don,t like: *it is fairly expensive for a drugstore product (19,99$ here in Canada), but still much less expensive than say, Boscia or Dr Jart. *Also, I dunno why but on the packaging of the one I bought, there's no mention of any spf...?? So no sun protection for us canadian girls! *alot of glow-i-ness, good on the cheeks but on my T-zone...huh. I put loose powder on top, on my T-zone. What i do like: *You really have to let it dry though (this should be on the dont like list), but when it feels dry, it makes my skin super soft *As a tinted moisturizer, I like it much, much more than say, Aveeno or Neutrogena. * It makes my skin look even and it is really hydrating. As for the 5 in one product: I dunno. It's winter here so my skin reacts differently than in summer, when it gets really gross+oily (sorry TMI). Overall, I like this product, I like looking glowy but also, I think I really wanna like it because it was expensive. See, i really do have mixed feelings!

Lipstick -MAC - Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Perpetual Flame
kaltblutig 10/27/2011 6:21:00 PM
I adore this color! When the saleslady showed it to me, I was a bit on the fence: it seemed like a very boring color (I like bold reds). However, when I put it on...MAGIC. It's great for my fair complexion but it is also very fun. I always receive a ton of compliments when I wear it. It is also easier to wear than true reds.

Masks -Origins - Clear Improvement
kaltblutig 10/16/2011 1:10:00 PM
I bought this for 20 bucks at Century 21 hoping the find a HG mask for my acne prone skin. This product isn,t bad, but it isn't HG material. I love that it is non-drying and the squeeze-tube is great. Also, nice-smell. I find it helps clear up the blackheads on my nose but that is all (I have blackheads on my forehead that just wont go away). It kinda helps with my oily skin but only the very day I use it. It's a meh-product. I will finish the tube but I wouldn't buy it again.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals ALL
kaltblutig 10/16/2011 1:02:00 PM
I have a love-hate relationship with this product. Years ago, I travelled to New York just so i could buy it (Im from Montreal). Then, it was a though lightning had struck me: a miracle in a tiny jar! 7 years ago, nothing on the market was comparable to it. Now, i buy BM every now and then. Pros: *great coverage *never, ever made me break out *natural sunscreen *wide variety of shades Cons: * it is SO, SO MESSY it annoys the heck out of me *I cannot bring it with me in my purse because it will spill * not enough staying power. Even with primer on, I need to reapply mid-day So, I'm torn. Right now I use MAC's studio fix during autumn/witer and will pro ably go back to BM for spring/summer.

Scrubs -Burt's Bees - Natural Acne Solutions - Pore Refining Scrub
kaltblutig 10/16/2011 12:54:00 PM
Bad product. This stuff leaves a greasy/waxy film on my skin. NOT what I am looking for to help my acne-prone skin. After using this, I need to wash my face with Cetaphil. Also, there,s not enough grains/exfoliating beads to actually exfoliate. Too bad because I really wanted to like this product because I kinda have a soft spot for Burt's bee... I guess I'll be sticking with their lip balms!

Hair -Unlisted Brand - Apple Cider Vinegar
kaltblutig 10/16/2011 12:48:00 PM
How could I not know about this?! I use ACV as a facial toner. I have acne on my forehead & chin with flakes around my nose and cheeks. Very sexy. I read on MUA that ACV would make a great toner for the cheapest price possible and I was sold. I bought this great bottle of organic ACV for 7$---that's even cheaper than any drugstore crap-toners. My recipe: 1 part ACV for 10 parts water, more or less. just enough to restore my skin's pH and NOT smell like salad. My skin is most definitely clearer people. I am now a believer in the power of ACV!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
kaltblutig 10/16/2011 12:39:00 PM
Wow, I am really surprised by this product! I used to be loyal to CG lashblast but this is my new favorite! I think it's the wet consistancy that makes this mascara great. I am a very lazy person and most of the time, I cannot be bothered with mascara because I find it takes forever to apply. This product, though, delivers great results without much effort/coats. People keep telling me a have pretty eyes when I wear this, even though my eyes are pretty ordinary... Magic!

Polishes -Essie - Wicked
kaltblutig 10/16/2011 12:30:00 PM
My favorite color, ever. I find the nothing compares to Essie nail polishes, not even OPI: *The bottles are cute, *They're not too expensive (11.00$ CDN), *They're long-lasting *They don't thicken, at least not as fast as most brands *Perfection! Wicked is the best dark color out there, in my opinion because it has depth and it suits any skin colour because of its warm undertones.
