Cleansers -Etude - Happy tea time cleansing foam - milk tea
rated 4 of 5
kalokairi 9/9/2010 11:35:00 PM

I'm a big milk tea fan, but I really fell in love with the scent of this cleansing foam. It's so nice! It cleanses really well and leaves my skin feeling soft (true to its claim). I'm always in a happy mood after using this. You get a lot of product for the price, especially when compared to similarly-sized products from other Korean stores. Packaging is good, the label is waterproof and doesn't wrinkle, while the tube itself is easy to squeeze despite the size. I'll definitely repurchase!

Lipstick -Etude - LUCIDarling Fantastic Rouge
rated 4 of 5
kalokairi 9/9/2010 11:28:00 PM

I have this in No. 10 Mocha/Moka Beige. I was lucky enough to have seen this in the stall just when they had them out, so I had no qualms about playing with the brand-new testers. If packaging may be an issue for you, note that it IS made of plastic and may feel somewhat cheap in your hand (though it's prettily designed!). This particular shade looks very brown in the tube and swatches somewhat sheer, but it is very pigmented on the lips. The color I got is very natural and work-safe. The formula does not work well with dry lips, however, so I always use a lip balm underneath. Staying power is good enough for me; I usually don't have to retouch until after I eat and there's usually still some color on the lips. It's easily removed as well. This is a good lipstick and I'm inclined to repurchase :)

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Color Wash Eye Pencil Emerald
rated 4 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 9:50:00 AM

I agree that it's not really an emerald since that should be more of a deep green; this is more of an olive with shimmer. It goes on smoothly and is really creamy. It's retractable and has a pretty decent brush at the other end, meant for smudging. It distributes more glitter than color though. I'm still glad I got this, it's a pretty color and I like seeing it in my collection.

Treatments -The Body Shop - tea tree oil
rated 3 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 9:39:00 AM

Tried this for my unfortunate blemishes. It sort of worked, because they'd dry out and be gone in 2-3 days, but it they left scars as well :( I liked the smell though. I'm trying a different treatment instead, but if I had to repurchase tea tree oil I won't get it from TBS unless it's on sale since right after I bought this I found a near-same formula for much cheaper at a local scents store.

Lip Gloss -The Body Shop - Born Lippy in Watermelon
rated 2 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 9:36:00 AM

Born Lippies used to be all the rage at one point in time. I got this as a gift from a friend and to be honest, I didn't like it. It tasted pretty lipstick-y but it was tolerable, and for the first part it was moisturizing. But then it would dry my lips out really bad and I could feel the flakes, and I'd have to reapply. I wanted to like this but sadly I don't. I like the pot since it's different from the usual lipstick/gloss tube, but like everyone else, I think it's unhygienic.

Concealers -The Body Shop - Flawless Skin Protecting Concealer
rated 4 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 9:32:00 AM

According to The Body Shop website: "Light-diffusing particles instantly brighten skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines while coated pigments help promote a radiant complexion. Zinc oxide reduces the appearance of blemish-damaged, red and irritated skin. Community Trade marula oil from Namibia helps to repair skin’s moisture barrier, leaving skin soft and supple." I have this concealer in Shade 01. It's housed in a shiny silver tube and the closure is pretty sturdy, the cap hasn't fallen off since I got this late last year. The concealer is retractable like a lipstick and if you look at the middle of the tube you will see that the concealer surrounds a somewhat translucent tube like wood to lead in a pencil. I remember the SA mentioning that this is the part of the concealer that keeps skin moisturized so I suppose this is the marula oil component. The concealer itself is rather creamy, but when it's cold it dries up somewhat. For this reason I roll the stick between my palms and warm it up at the back of my hand as well before using my fingers to apply it. TBS recommends using a brush, but I've never tried it. Coverage is pretty good, and buildable. I have red spots on my cheeks and redness on my nose & corners of the mouth, and this is an all-in-one product for those. I like dabbing a bit of this on my undereyes as well, but not too much since it can settle into fine lines. It's true that this promotes a "radiant complexion"; after setting my face with powder it looks really nice. I have not experienced breakouts from using this, and I usually never have to reapply. I'd like to try concealers from other brands as well but I'm glad I have this to come back to. I recommend it :)

Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop - Moringa Shower Gel
rated 5 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 9:14:00 AM

I have this in a travel size and I LOVE IT. I use it for special occasions or when I'm really down. I love the smell and it leaves my skin feeling pretty soft. Packaging is sturdy but I don't think it's spillproof. Hard to believe that this is the humble "malunggay", hence though I'd love to buy it again I hesitate. Haha.

Lipstick -Avon - Ultra Color Rich 24K Gold lipstick
rated 5 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 8:55:00 AM

This product is actually part of the Moisture Rich line, I think... my aunt's an Avon lady and I bought this from her in Nude Gold. It's my first nude lipstick and I think I would have found the shade weird if it didn't come with the glitters like in this one. Despite the glitter it doesn't feel gritty and lives up to its moisturizing name. I want to get the other shades! Wait for it to go on sale, the markdown is usually huge. Love this lipstick. Only con is that the glitters are kind of hard to get off, and they scatter all over your lip and chin area if you're not careful.

Brows -MAC - Brow set - Girl Boy
rated 5 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 8:50:00 AM

My friend lent me this when she went back to her normal hair color and I tried going reddish brown. Love how it lightens my brows instantly but application is a bit tricky, I think I end up putting too much on sometimes. Results look better when I fill in my brows with brow powder beforehand, but for when I'm in a hurry with just a bit more time, I use this by itself. My brows don't look as awkward with my hair after. Will definitely repurchase--it's expensive, yes, but you only need a bit at a time so it lasts you pretty long.

Fragrances -Kenzo - Flower
rated 4 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 8:44:00 AM

I love this perfume. The packaging is sleek and simple, though sadly the flower on mine has faded after one too many rough trips in a bag. Wearing this makes me feel sophisticated and classy. It still smells good to me after awhile; I'm a powdery scent kind of girl anyway. Glad I tried this.

Styling Products -Dove - Define and Shine Control Gel
rated 4 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 8:38:00 AM

I have those annoying hairs that stick up on top of your head, and for the most part this keeps them at bay. I have to be careful not too put too much though or my hair becomes stiff. It's very watery and lightweight, which I like. I stored it in a shelf that's too small so there's a hole near the tip, but it's all right.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clean & Clear - Oil Absorbing Sheets
rated 4 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 8:33:00 AM

This stuff works. Gets oil off without touching your makeup and is easy to store in your bag. I get annoyed though that sometimes more than one sheet is pulled out when you open the lid, and one is more than enough for me. I wish I didn't buy a backup of the original one because I want to try the grapefruit variant, but oh well. One pack lasts me a long time and I'm happy with that.

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - Oil-Free Dual Action Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 8:26:00 AM

I use this when I'm in a hurry or on the go. Love how lightweight this goes on and how smooth my face feels after. It dries really quickly and smells nice. When I have a bad day with my other moisturizers I always go back to this one, and I've already repurchased twice. :)

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Daily Pore Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 8:19:00 AM

I love this cleanser. The exfoliating beads are gentle (as long as I'm gentle too) and leave my skin feeling clean & smooth. The smell is really nice and I like that the tube is matte, quite a difference from the usual shiny packaging of cleansers. Repurchasing is in order in case I break out from any new exfoliating cleansers I try.

Mascara -Maybelline - volume express hypercurl
rated 4 of 5
kalokairi 5/7/2010 8:10:00 AM

Bought this in brown by mistake, but it's a mistake I've learned to love. I like the natural look the color gives my lashes. It holds whatever curl I've done for my lashes sufficiently and gives me a wide-awake look. It doesn't smudge BUT I think I've encountered some flakes in the past... still, I love this. Brush is OK though its size makes me scared about poking it in my eye somtimes. This already comes cheap but can come cheaper on sales. I'd repurchase but this and the Unstoppable mascara make me want to try even more mascaras.
