Powder -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder - Transparent 001

I know I'm in the minority here but I gotta be honest...I'm not at all fond of this product. I know the packaging is an obvious negative, but I was willing to put up with it for the great price. My issue with the powder is that it seems extremely visible on my skin, even in the translucent shade. I like my skin to look very natural, but even using a light hand this powder made me look like I was wearing too much makeup. I may try to finish the one I have, but would NOT repurchase in the future. PS - If you are looking for a drugstore powder with a more natural finish, I am really enjoying Revlon nearly naked.

Polishes -OPI - Quarter of a Cent-Cherry

I love this nail polish for fall/winter, but honestly its one that I would wear year around. I picked it up on sale at Target recently, and it was a great deal. The color is a great classic dark red. The only reason I knock off a point is because this stained my nails, even with a base coat. I will continue to use, but I might start applying two layers of base in the future.

Lipstick -Neutrogena - Moisture Smooth Color Stick
kajy14 3/8/2013 7:57:00 PM
I got the watermelon shade and agree with other reviewers...it's too frosty! The color is very pretty but the frost is not my thing. They are definitely fragrant (kind of a peachy/fruity scent), which I don't mind. The feel very comfortable on the lips and the pigmentation is decent for a gloss/balm type product. I might consider buying another color after figuring out which ones don't have a frosty finish.

Polishes -Sephora - Sephora by OPI - On Stage

Aside from base coats and top coats, this is the ONLY polish that I have ever re-purchased. It's a beautiful dusty mauve color that remains pretty neutral and is perfect for fall and winter. Although it's pretty subtle, I've gotten many complements on this polish. The application is pretty great as well...not too thick or thin. This is definitely towards the top of my favorites and I would purchase over and over.

Top/Base Coats -Revlon - colorstay top coat
kajy14 7/29/2012 1:46:00 PM
This product has some major pros and cons for me. I've used Seche Vite for a while but was looking to try something new so I bought this instead with the base coat as well. I'll list my pros and cons (with lots of comparisons to seche vite). Cons: - This top coat takes FOREVER to dry. It doesn't claim to be fast drying, but I've gotten dings and dents even 1.5 hours after using it. With Seche Vite, I only need about 20 minutes for my nails to fully dry. - Does not dry smoothly. I've noticed a lot of bubbles after using this top coat and my nails just don't look smooth and professional like they do with Seche Vite. Pros: - I found that this top coat and base coat do live up to the colorstay name definitely increase the wear of my nail polish. With Seche Vite I'd probably get about 3 days of chip-free wear. With this, I'll get 5+. - I do really like the brush. It looks a little weird (like 2 little brushes attached side-by-side), but I like the wide shape it gives. Another thing to note (not really a pro or con) is the price. I had my eye on this for a while and at drugstores it was $7.99, which seemed a little steep for a DS nail product. I only bought it when I happened to notice it was significantly cheaper at Walmart, I think it was between $4-5. Definitely look for it at Walmart if you want to try it. In summary, I will not buy this product again. I paint my nails frequently (usually 3 times per week) so I don't really need my polish to last long and I'd rather use Seche Vite which gives better looking results and dries much faster. If you are somebody who doesn't paint your nails very often and your priority is finding a top-coat that will make your polish last, this might be a good option. It's not a horrible top coat, just not for me.

Polishes -Essie - Splash of Grenadine
kajy14 7/29/2012 1:16:00 PM
This color is a definite favorite for spring and summer and I have it on my nails now. My first encounter with this color was when I got it as a manicure about a year ago. I loved it, but didn't actually get it for myself until this spring. The color does not look like grenadine...haha. Its a pink with definite purple undertones. I don't tend to like pure "barbie" pinks, so this color definitely appeals to me. I think the formula is near-perfect. At first it seems a little thin, but only takes 2 coats to become opaque. The finish is shiny and almost doesn't need a topcoat, beautiful!

Crème -Maybelline - Dream Smooth Mousse
kajy14 7/19/2012 3:16:00 PM
At first I really loved this foundation. It has a nice cooling feeling as it goes on to the skin and a dewy finish which I love. I have hit pan on this, but decided that I ultimately won't buy it again. It feels heavy and sticky on my face and staying power is not good. Maybe I was biased by trying it out during the warmer months because I do think it would probably be better in the winter, but I doubt I'll be testing it out again to find out. For reference, classic ivory is perfect for my NW 20 skin.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Bad to the Bronze / on and on bronze
kajy14 7/18/2012 11:48:00 PM
I'm totally on the bandwagon for the maybelline color tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. It has been my go to all over lid color if I'm trying to run out the door quickly. I just swipe it on with finger and sometimes also put the color tattoo in "too cool" in my inner corner. The color tattoos also work great as a base and do not budge until removed with makeup remover. Wish they'd make even more neutral colors (not that the existing selection is bad) because I'm sure I'd snatch those up too.

Blush -Revlon - Photoready Cream Blush
kajy14 7/18/2012 11:34:00 PM
I really like these blushes! I initially purchased pinched but I was sad to get home and swatch it and find it was nearly transparent on my NW20 skin. I would only recommend this color if you are quite pale. I loved the velvety formula so much, however, that I went back to exchange it for the color coral reef which looks a bit scary in the pan but is beautiful blended out on the cheeks. To me, the formula is ideal. It's a creme to powder that feels nice on the cheeks. I knocked off one star for staying power (which isn't superb) and the price...$12.99 at Ulta.

Blush -NYX - Rouge Cream Blush - Boho Chic
kajy14 7/18/2012 9:57:00 PM
I love cream blushes and I love NYX, so I thought this would definitely be a home run. Sadly, not so much. I prefer more of a "cream to powder" consistency, but these leave a sticky feeling on the cheek that does not look good to me. Also, it's not obvious from looking at the pan, but there is big chunky pieces of glitter. Will definitely not repurchase.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash pink grapefruit foaming scrub
kajy14 6/27/2012 4:36:00 PM
I've been loving this scrub for the past few weeks. I use it every morning in the shower and it's so refreshing. I've found that my face feels tight afterwards (not in a bad way) and that I do need to use moisturizer afterwards, but I always use a moisturizer anyways. The salicylic acid has seemed to reduce my oily-ness and my skin has been looking and feeling great.

Polishes -OPI - Mermaid's Tears
kajy14 6/27/2012 4:19:00 PM
LOVE THIS POLISH! I picked this up purely because it was on sale at Ulta, but it has quickly become one of my favorites. The color is beautiful. Perfect for spring and summer and I am constantly getting compliments on it. The formula is on the thicker side but nearly opaque with one coat and seems to last about 5 days without chipping (which is a long time for me). Would definitely repurchase if I can find it again.

Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Trio - Shimmering Sands
kajy14 6/27/2012 4:13:00 PM
I know this product is well liked by many, I'm not a huge fan. I find the shades to be a bit chalky and powdery. I'll admit that the colors are a great scheme for everyday wear and it is a good palette for travel, but I honestly don't reach for it much and I think there are better options (i.e. W & W) in the same price range.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Sensational-Coral Crush
kajy14 6/27/2012 4:00:00 PM
Pretty good coral lipstick for summer. The color is great...It can be very bold, but I've also managed to wear it more sheer and make it look daytime appropriate. As far as corals go, this seems to lean more red than orange. The formula is a bit on the drying side and I did notice a slight coconut scent (I happen to like it but in case you are sensitive to that sort of thing).

Hair -Got 2 Be - Rockin' It Encore Fresh Dry Shampoo
kajy14 5/23/2012 7:21:00 PM
The product is OK, but what really turned me off is the packaging. After the first time I used it, I could hear the product leaking out. I managed to play around with the spray device to get it to stop coming out, but the next time I used it I couldn't get it to stop leaking. Now my bottle is empty after two uses! It seems that this happened to other people as well, so this is probably a widespread issue. As for the product itself, it did seem to work decently well. I'm not a huge fan of the scent, but it's also not the worst either (it does smell like fruit loops as someone had mentioned). I did notice some whiteness at my roots and my hair is a pretty light shade of brown, so definitely something to consider if you have very dark hair.
