Treatments -Garnier - Clinical Overnight Dark Spot Peel

I am a week into using this product. I was looking for a Vichy dark spot treatment but found this, about half the price of Vichy ($15.00 CAD). It comes in a smallish, see-through pump bottle and it serum-like in texture, although thicker and a bit...sticky? It promises to fade dark spots, acne marks, and age spots. I'm 24 and have had pretty extreme acne breakouts along my jawline, cheeks and side of my face. Although the acne clears up, I tend to pick and worsen some and have scarred terribly, which of course appear as darker spots. Anyway! After three nights of using this I noticed a difference. The more mild scars along my chin and jawline have all but disappeared and the rougher ones on the side of my face have even cleared up. My overall skin tone is clearer (smaller pores, less greasy) and even and I am so impressed. This could, of course, change, but so far, so good. Can't believe I could reclaim my good skin again. Will update if this changes. Also the "peel" part of the product name is misleading because you don't peel it off, I just wash my face and apply it, massaging it in well to absorb. Then sleep.

Liquid -Almay - Clear Complexion Blemish Healing Makeup
rated 4 of 5

I've been using L'oreal Infallible makeup pretty regularly for about a year. I switch to something lighter in the summertime but find nothing else gives real full coverage like infallible. Revlon colour stay was always too mask-like. I decided to try this as I used to use Almay TLC foundation when I was a teenager and I have pretty bad jawline acne and that's the only reason I need such heavy coverage from Infallible. Anyway, I find it does help my skin rather than hurt it - At the end of the day red pimples have faded and some "under the skin" pimples were brought to a head and then dry up quickly. The coverage isn't as full as Infallible which is taking some getting used to but I hope as my skin clears up I won't rely on the full coverage as much. I found my forehead got a bit shiny although my nose & cheeks didn't, which they usually do, so perhaps just didn't set my forehead well enough. I definitely use a powder afterwards and do miss the long-lastingness of Infallible but I'm going to stick with it because it doesn't oxidize as badly as Infallible, either. The colour is a PERFECT, seamless match. I'm fair-medium tone and am using "naked". It was about $14.00, cheaper than Almay's TLC and very cheaper than Infallible (CAN $$$).

Blush -Cover Girl - Cheekers Blush in Pretty Peach
rated 4 of 5

Really love this blush, really love the colour, it's not a flat colour like I found with a Revlon blush I purchased at the same time. I layer it with a glowy bronzer and it looks great. More peachy than pink for me, looked really great in the summer with a tan. Only complaint is the packaging, wish it was wider for bigger brush but it's a small factor. My favourite drugstore blush and I've tried em all.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous False Fiber Lashes~Waterproof
rated 3 of 5

I love L'oreal mascaras - voluminous is of course my go to. With this fibre lash mascara I find it does a good job when layered with the original voluminous. For some reason it just doesn't seem to build very well - if I use multiple layers of this alone it looks natural at best but when I alternate with the original voluminous I can really build to that false lash look. I have thin, short lashes so it takes a lot no matter what product I use but I find this less voluminous and more...defining. It lengthens and separates and gets every lash but really have to layer and layer. I like the brush that it's not the plastic one like with the millions of lashes mascara. The contoured tube is good too I never realized how annoying rolling mascara tubes were until I had one that stayed put! It was about $11.00, $5.00 more than the original voluminous. All in all...I like it but like the effect of L'oreal's collagen mascara better. But you can't really go wrong with any of L'oreal's mascaras.

Liquid -L'Oreal - Infallible 16hr foundation
rated 3 of 5

I bought this looking for a foundation that would be long lasting and like other reviewers, I had used Revlon's Colour Stay in the past but felt it was too thick and made me look very mask-y as I wore it in the winter when I was pale enough without thick foundation. In the summertime I had used CoverGirl's Nature Luxe and recently bought Rimmel Clean Finish makeup on sale. It wasn't a bad foundation, just not as long lasting as I hoped. I bought this - $20.00 but as a Canadian makeup is overpriced here. I like it - I fell asleep in it and woke up with it perfectly in place. I have oily skin and don't find myself having to blot but it did sink into my pores a bit when I didn't set it with a powder. Otherwise, good but breathable coverage, long lasting and I am waiting to see if I have any cons after using it longer. EDIT: Took it down to a 3 because it rubs off surprisingly easy on high traffic areas of my face, if that makes sense. I touch my chin and mouth a lot when I'm sitting in class and this red scar I have beneath my nose was entirely visible when I returned home today, as was it completely wiped from my chin.
