Moisturizers -RoC - Complete Lift Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
k8thgr8 11/29/2011 11:07:00 AM
This is my every day spf for face, neck, décolletage. Love it. Makes my skin soft and does seem to firm things up a bit. Use it around eyes and on lids carefully, stings if it gets in eyes. On my third tube which is a miracle for someone so fickle. They now carry at ocean state jl for $14 a tube - normally $22 at ds. Think I'll stock up. If you twist the hell out of the tube when you think it's nearly empty there is a surprising amount of product in there - at least another weeks worth.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Lotion
k8thgr8 12/1/2010 6:10:00 PM
Bought this as a basic facial moisturizer to wear under sunscreen. I broke out with horrible cystic zits, one of which resulted in a scar above my lip. Awesome. If I find the receipt I will return it, otherwise I think it will be an OK body moisturizer.

Shampoo -Pantene - medium-thick hair solutions frizzy to smooth
k8thgr8 9/4/2010 7:00:00 AM
My hair is thick, slightly wavy and usually has a halo of frizz unless I blow dry and use a ton of product. Since using this shampoo I can air dry and my hair looks good, no frizz. Kind of amazing. I hope, pray that it keeps up the good work. I also use the conditioner but just the tiniest amount to de-tangle. I stopped highlighting my hair a year ago so high end shampoo/conditioner are no longer needed.

Treatments (Eye) -Avon - Anew Clinical Eye Lift
k8thgr8 10/3/2007 10:18:00 AM
When I tried this product I was psyched because it actually "undid" the slight droop in my left eyelid. Hooorray! HG, right? Alas, no. Soon I developed an itchy scaly red rash on my eyelids. I stopped using everything on my eyes until it cleared up. And when it did, I went back to using this little miracle lifting gel only to find that it was the culprit. So sad because it seems to work for others, and clearly it did lift for me but it just does not get along with my lids. I guess I should also note that the included under eye cream seemed to be a fine moisturizer and did not cause any irritation. The search continues. I just bought RoC Protient Lift so fingers crossed...

Mascara -LORAC - Publicity Stunt Lashes
k8thgr8 3/28/2007 10:44:00 AM
YES!!!!! This stays on my lashes, no matter what - even through crying and swimming - it IS truly waterproof - hallelujah!! No more racoon eyes for this chick. It does not make my lashes look as pretty as say Definicils, but this stuff stays on all frikkin day and night. I think it's important to read the package directions regarding use and removal - apparently, it's meant to stay on for three days. But I remove each night with no trouble - I just use a little DHC cleansing oil and Voila - mascara all gone (when I want it gone and not before)!! This is definite HG for me.

Treatments (Eye) -Elizabeth Arden - Prevage Eye Anti-aging Moisturizing Treatment
k8thgr8 2/12/2007 10:56:00 AM
I'm very impressed by this product. I received a sample and used it for 10 days while working in Europe. Usually, after a few days of working abroad, I end up with very dark circles that cannot be covered by concealer (not even cdp!). I used the prevage eye morning and night and my under eye area looked great all week - until i ran out 2 days before the trip was over and then i started to look a little puffy and dark. So, was that the result of 10 hard days of work and play with little sleep? Or running out of the Prevage? Honestly, I'm betting on the Prevage and I'm going to buy the full size this week. It's pricey, but a little goes a long way and because of the good results I'm willing to pay. Also, I didn't pair it with any other eye moisturizer but did use a very creamy LORAC concealer. I am so happy!

Lip Gloss -Maybelline - Wet shine diamonds liquid in Sparkling Sand
k8thgr8 11/19/2005 5:38:00 PM
Color is ok, kind of a sheer pale brown with a golden sheen. The smell is terrible, I was expecting something yummy like the covergirl glosses, instead I got a strong petroleum smell. Perhaps I got a bad lot? Also the gritty sparkles bugged me, could really feel them on my lips. Will not repurchase.

Treatments (Eye) -La Prairie - Cellular Radiance Eye Cream
k8thgr8 9/19/2005 12:32:00 PM
This is so insanely expensive that I didn't tell anyone I bought it out of sheer embarrassment. But surely at $200+, I reasoned, there must be something miraculous about this product. Miraculous? Yes, I am miraculously gullible. It's eye cream. It moisturized my eye area. It didn't do any harm. It smells lovely and the packaging is pretty. It is by no means a bad product. Actually, it reduced my milia which was an unexpected treat. But after two months of religious use, I haven't found any other benefits. I'm glad it works so well for others - but it wasn't the miracle in a jar I was expecting.

Self Tanners -Coppertone - Endless Summer
k8thgr8 8/4/2005 10:28:00 AM
Pros: nice dark color in 30 minutes. I wasn't overwhelmed by the scent, didn't really even notice it. Cons: streaky streaky streaky - even with careful application this stuff is treacherous. It tends to rub off on clothing even when I think it's dry. This is OK when you are desperate for some quick color and/or to prolong a natural tan because the streakiness doesn't show up when you already have a bit of color.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Waterproof Multiplying Mascara
k8thgr8 7/9/2005 9:35:00 AM
Nice mascara, it IS waterproof, stays on all day, does not flake or end up smudgey under my eyes. The color says black but when I look at it on the brush I see brown. Regardless, this is good stuff. My short skimpy lashes look dark, defined and slightly thicker but without the dreaded clumping.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser
k8thgr8 6/20/2005 3:12:00 PM
One of my favorites, been using for years. For me, it is very gentle and non-irritating. Helps keep my skin soft and clear. I apply a generous amount to my face when dry, massage it in for a few minutes and then rinse with warm to hot water. I don't think it's meant to remove makeup but it does for me - maybe because of the massaging or because I don't wear that much. Does not remove waterproof mascara. My skin tends toward very dry in winter and oily t-zone in summer. I can use this year round with good results. (But sometimes I crave creamy bubbly lather so I break out the EL Splash Away, love it but it makes my skin feel a little tight.)

Hair -Unlisted Brand - FX's Instant Straighten Out
k8thgr8 5/27/2005 12:26:00 PM
Top 10 reasons why I love this stuff: 1. It works! Makes my hair straight. 2. Not to mention shiny! 3. And bouncy! 4. It's cheap! 5. It does not smell bad! 6. Does not require heat! If I am pressed for time I can go without blow drying. Usually, if my hair air dries it will be pouffy and frizzy and just plain ugly. But if I put this in and comb hair into a low pony tail - it dries nicely without being crunchy or greasy. 7. Does not require a brush! OK, without a brush is not the norm, but once while traveling I forgot to pack a brush and found that by pulling hair straight with my fingers under the hair dryer I got some pretty good results! 8. It lasts! When I inevitably stray and move onto another product, this stuff does not become cucky or rancid when I come back to it weeks/months later. 9. It's easy to find! Usually at Target or Walgreens. 10. It's pink!

Concealers -Cle de Peau - Concealer
k8thgr8 4/21/2005 1:27:00 PM
I ordered Ivory, $68 + shipping. At first, I was very disappointed - too heavy, did not properly cover circles, and I felt a fool for shelling out so much cash. Then I read a review in which someone recommended a concealer brush (something I'd never used before) and that has made all the difference in the world!! My dark circles are actually concealed and I do not look like a reverse raccoon. If I do not moisturize properly it can look a little cakey. This stuff blends beautifully and is virtually undetectable. I have very fair skin, nearly translucent, and my circles are hereditary - no matter how much sleep I get or water I drink, they are there. Now you notice my eyes, not the circles underneath. I will definitely repurchase. As for the price, yes it's steep, but if I add up all the others I've purchased over the years, cle de peau is actually a bargain! It is not perfect but I'm pretty happy and no longer feel the need to compulsively purchase every new concealer on the market.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof
k8thgr8 4/19/2005 1:15:00 PM
Big embarrassing surprise - it is NOT ACTUALLY WATERPROOF. Not even mist-proof, as evidenced by the raccoon eyes I was sporting after a short walk under an umbrella. My regular non-waterproof Definicils held up much better under the same circumstances. Definitely will not purchase again.
