Very unusual. Immediately reminds me of lemon meringue pie then as it dries down I get the black hemlock. Nice scent. I like it for something different. I think a guy could wear this as well as a woman. 3hrs later: NO NO NO. Disgusting, strong, and yuck. EXTREMELY potent and difficult to wash off, even with Lemon Joy. Also sampled Ormonde for men. This, to me, smells like an ordinary complex men's cologne. Similar to Givenchy Pour Homme and reminiscent of Eternity in its sweetness. Overall, I'd give it one lippie. 3hrs later: Eternity for Men

I really don't understand all the high marks for this fragrance. If I'm correct, this is straight Vetiver. If you like to smell like freshly cut HAY, then this is for you. As far as I'm concerned its tres horrible.

Warm, sweet, spicy and sophisticated oriental. To me this is a man's version of Opium. Very similar notes. Deep, complex and long-lasting.

VERY Cedar-y. Reminiscent of my Hamster cage of years past. Maybe some top notes of spices, but I must've missed 'em. Ho-hum.

Very pleasant, interesting fragrance for women. The green fig sap jumps out immediately and drys off. Then a nice milky sweet fragrance. Light and pleasant.

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - Bois et Fruits

This is just what is says. Wood and Fruits. The fruits are sweet and acrid in my opinion and dominate this concoction. I find this loud and disgusting. Maybe for some, but not me. Yuck.

My question is: Where's the Big, Bad, Nasty Wolf in this stuff?? I am sorely disappointed with this fragrance that, to me, smells generic. Nothing special. Green and woodsy. I was expecting a rich, green, woody forest, and some nasty wolf thrown in for good measure. At best, a generic men's fougere....Boring.

Drab floriental. Reminiscent of Samsara which I love to smell on women, sans the sweetness. From reading other reviews I expected loamy green Vetiver, all I got was a lot of sweet sandalwood. Still unimpressed with Lutens quality-to-price ratio. I am afraid it may be that "the emperor has no clothes". Sorry Serge.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Voleur de Roses

When I first opened the vial I was taken aback. I have never smelled anything like this. To me this fragrance is poetry in rose and earth. Patchouly has grasped hands and joined souls with Bulgarian rose, and the sum is greater than the parts. Dark, blood red rose after a heavy spring rain at Dusk. Exotic, loamy, earthy patchouly, elevated and even resurrected by the lush rose. This is a very sophisticated, evocative fragrance. Dark, wet, mysterious. Another reviewer below said whoever created this was a genius. I agree. If Lestat wore a fragrance this would have to be it. I find it simply sublime.

Well, I think Gumibear summed up how I perceived it exactly. Ditto. Pretty much One-dimensional Oak Water of the Toilet.....Come on, Serge you're the MUA Fragrance board's raison d'etre. Wow us.

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - Encens et Lavande

Lavender essence and incense on the drydown. For the life of me I can't figure out "where" I have smelled this incense before. Was it at an Indian foodstore or antique shop or Buddhist temple? Not sure. I think its an Indian incense, perhaps Nag Champa. Whatever type of incense this is, I dislike it. Its an "Ok" fragrance for something a little different. However, I would not spend $160+ for a bottle, but I will continue to use my decant. I can't imagine a woman liking or smelling good in this.

Spiced Rum, sickeningly sweet Pipe Tobacco smoke, leather and honey. If you can imagine these together then you have FT. If that appeals to you, then you will like FT. I would venture to say you can get the same experience by purchasing a cheap fragrance oil from one of those vendors at the flea market. Or splash on some Bay Rum and smoke a Gauloise. Overpriced. Overrated. Underwhelmed. P.S. I don't like this fragrance, but I have to admit I was in a really BAD mood when I wrote this! LOL
