Eyeliner -Max Factor - Colour X-pert waterproof eyeliner

I have this in metallic anthracite (basically it's a steely grey with green and purple sparkles in it) and I love it! It really doesn't budge all day and I don't need to worry about it, the colour goes on a soft metallic grey and the sparkles aren't obtrusive. Lasting power is amazing, it only comes off with makeup remover and is really waterproof. Love! It's a bit expensive since I'm buying in Australia but that's just the tax markup here...

Skincare - Body -Palmers - Skin Smoothing Lotion with AHA/BHA

OK I am torn over this product. On the one hand, it is soooo stinky and so bad for you in terms of nasty chemical ingredients. On the other hand, it absolutely works like nothing else! I'm not sure if I'll buy it again, but here's my experience using it. I bought this because of the reviews here saying it helped with keratosis pilaris, which I have on the back of my arms. I'm pretty sure that twice-daily applications after showering for almost two months have greatly improved my kp - most of the bumps have smoothed down but the hyperpigmentation remains and it still doesn't look normal. I will use up my bottle to see if my kp can improve further with this, but at the moment it doesn't seem to be getting any better (it's maybe 60-70% better). I'm also hesitant about using this lotion long-term because of the whole host of nasties in the chemical formulation. Also, the smell!! I also used this on my bacne, and after the same amount of time, it has completely cleared up! This is a huge deal for me. I had thought bacne was just something I was going to have to live with. Now I'm trying to lighten the dark brown acne spots left behind and this seems to be happening too! And another unexpected plus point is my immunization scars have gotten a lot less noticeable as a side effect of using the lotion, so this is all pretty miraculous for me. I'm hoping that once I've eliminated my acne and uneven skin tone, I can stop using the product, fingers crossed, because the smell really is terrible. I also tried using this to fade acne marks on my jawline, and this works well - almost overnight, but I try to do this sparingly (I don't get much facial acne anyway) because the aha's increase sun sensitivity. So... what to do. This is a very stinky, very chemical (filled with parabens, with a very high ewg skin deep toxicity rating), but very effective lotion. I will definitely use up my bottle, and continue to monitor progress on the kp, but despite how effective it's been I hope I won't have to use this long term.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Moogoo - Oatmeal Soap
rated 4 of 5
juwel 1/16/2013 3:34:00 AM

Bought this because it smelled so delicious and wholesome and cut it in half to split with my mum. It's a moisturizing soap and I used it on my body - half the bar lasted about a month and a half for me. Was hoping it would help with my kp on my arms but it didn't seem to make much of a difference, but it did make showering very pleasant while it lasted! Still a little dryer than a shower gel but it has turned me onto bar soaps instead of body wash for now (solids contain a lot less preservatives!) This soap is pretty expensive however and I'm going to use less expensive natural soaps with their glycerine intact for now :)

Shampoo -TRESemme - Vitamin C Deep Cleansing Shampoo
rated 2 of 5
juwel 1/15/2013 1:49:00 AM

Had some of this lying around the shower (think it was my brother's) and tried it since the reviews were so good for cleansing. This is definitely a strong shampoo! Completely stripped my hair and some of my hair colour too. Not for me. Also made my scalp a bit itchy. Never again!

Shampoo -Unlisted Brand - Australian Organics - everyday nourishing shampoo for normal hair
rated 4 of 5

I'm reviewing the green tube (250 ml) available in Coles in Australia. This is a wonderfully citrussy smelling shampoo which is free of parabens and PEGs. It leaves my hair shiny and bouncy and I'm happy with it. However it does have some misleading labeling. Yes it is free from SLS and SLES but there are still surfactants like Sodium Cocoamphoacetate in it, so it is not exactly "sulphate free". Limonene, though derived from citrus fruits, IS an artificially added fragrance so "no synthetic fragrance" is kind of disingenuous labeling as well. If you want your shampoo to have lather and smell nice, it's going to have surfactants and fragrance in it. That's just the way it goes. I doubt this is any more or less harmful than the average shampoo, but just want to put it out there. Also, this is different from the 300 + ml shampoo from the same brand that seems to be available in Europe. I wonder why? Have found an ingredient list for that version of the shampoo and it has dramatically different ingredients.

Conditioner -Organix - Macadamia Oil Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
juwel 1/7/2013 8:51:00 AM

I love this conditioner! It's a pity it's so expensive in Australia (more than 2x the price in the US!). It smells fantastic, leaves my thin fine hair smooth, manageable and shiny and smelling lovely - not at all like the cloying scents of most conditioners. Plus some really good ingredients! I also love the look of the bottle, though a tube would probably have been easier to get all the product out. Also I like packaging that allows me to see how much product is left...Even so, if this is on sale I will definitely repurchase EDIT: Yay found this on sale and rebought it :) It really is good!

Lip Treatments -Palmers - Cocoa Butter Dark Chocolate & Peppermint Lip Butter
rated 5 of 5
juwel 1/7/2013 8:46:00 AM

Bought this cos I'm on a Palmers kick and I read the reviews on here for it and couldn't resist. Usually I'm wary of fake chocolate smells but this really smells like dark mint chocolate! It tastes of sugar (actually it's saccharine) and it can even give me the feeling of a chocolate hit in a pinch. What's not to like? Also it lasts quite long!

Treatments -Organix - Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Instant Recovery Mask
rated 3 of 5
juwel 12/27/2012 8:21:00 AM

Picked this up on a whim at the drugstore. Haven't used any hair masks before, but I expected more. This isn't more effective than a conditioner if you put it on for about 3 minutes. I tried putting it on for 20 min like it says on the container today, and my hair does feel lovely and soft and manageable, but it's still underwhelming for the price. Smells fantastic though, but after I finish my tub I won't be buying again

Shampoo -Organix - Organix Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Shampoo
rated 2 of 5

I love the smell of this shampoo, and it cleans hair very well, but sadly about halfway through the bottle I realized it was stripping my hair colour! If I didn't have coloured hair I would stick with it since it seems a pretty decent shampoo, but for now I am alternating it with Australian Organic's normal hair shampoo, since alternating shampoos seems to prevent my hair from getting "used" to them (and I rather like the shade my hair is fading to but don't want it to fade too fast!) You get a half-squeaky-clean feeling from wash-rinse-repeat, and paired with the Macadamia Nut Oil conditioner this is some of the best smelling stuff out there. Nothing miraculous, but I enjoy using it! Edit: For those people worried about parabens, this shampoo contains DMDM Hydantoin ( http://chemicaloftheday.squarespace.com/todays-chemical/2009/6/22/dmdm-hydantoin.html) instead, which is an even more hazardous preservative, so don't buy this thinking you're safe from "nasty chemicals" - that's just marketing hype. Still need to read labels!

Gels/Soaps -LUSH - Lady Catrina
rated 5 of 5

What a beautiful scent! I was totally hooked on the mixture of neroli and lime (which is what I smelled in the store) and had to get a piece of this! When I brought it home and smelled it through the wax paper, I got a worrying note of grape soda (not what I particularly like to smell like), but once unwrapped and on the skin the neroli came back, and while I can still smell the grape it doesn't smell bad. This is a total mood lifter. I've had problems with lush soap drying me out before but I don't notice any problem with this one. It also hasn't shrunk ridiculously like my ooh lala did, so I think it will last quite a long time. AND, it is now perfuming my entire bathroom, singlehandedly. What's not to love? Edit: Melts too fast!

Lip Gloss -Revlon - ColorBurst in Fire
rated 4 of 5
juwel 10/14/2011 2:37:00 PM

I've only worn this twice but man, I am in love with this colour! Revlon has done it again (I was a fan of their superlustrous glosses already). This is shimmerless and extremely pigmented for a gloss, but not tacky and I find I don't have to worry too much about it spreading out of the lipline. This is a cool red and very flattering on my complexion. Blotted once, it is a lovely stain, and without blotting at all it's a stand-out, patent-shine pigmented gloss. The packaging is classy, and there isnt a noticeable scent. Lovely, and I will check out the non-glittery glosses in this line next time I'm at the drug store :) Compared with firecracker superlustrous (which I also have!) this is more pigmented and cooler in tone. This is more of a liquid lipstick which everyone seems to be coming up with these days.

Blush -NYX - Taupe

Received this in swap... A wonderful product! I use it to contour, under my cheekbones, under my face and on both sides of my nose. Very natural. I like to use this if I'm not wanting to look more tan/warm than usual but still want to contour. I used nymphette21's tutorial on yt on how to contour. No shimmer, which is excellent. Highly recommended!

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Shimmer Strips Gel Creamliner (all)
rated 4 of 5
juwel 3/19/2010 1:58:00 PM

Wow, I love these! I got them in Hazel and Green eyes, and they are so fun! They are pretty pigmented, and so far seem really long wearing too. They come in sets of three, with a black in each pack with different coloured shimmers (Hazel has black with purple shimmers, Green has green shimmers) and two other colours. Hazel: black with purple shimmer, warm light purple, light warmish brown Green: medium leaf green, grape cool purple, black with purple shimmers These are creamy and pigmented and come with a little brush which is actually not bad, though I use my mac liner brush instead. The weakest link so far is the dark purple in the Green set, which isn't that pigmented compared with the rest. I like that they are stackable, it's fun to click them onto each other :) And I think the selection of colours is fantastic and quite flattering. Was afraid of duping the black if I got two, but the shimmers make them slightly different. Will update about wear. ROP for pictures of the light purple from Hazel on me:

So I was on an obsessive hunt for hot pink lipgloss no thanks to a sephora ad! This is definitely the cheapest option, and it does exactly what I wanted: a pure, opaque, non-shimmer, high-shine hot pink. Gorgeous! Good coverage, though I do pair it with Revlon CB Fuchsia to up the amp even more ;) rop for pics Here it is on its own: with the Revlon:
