Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash
junkfood1991 10/5/2011 5:38:00 AM
This is very very very drying on skin and it made my pimples way worse than it was before. My skin usually likes salicylic acid, but I think it's the detergent in this cleanser that is too irritating for my skin.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 70
junkfood1991 9/25/2011 4:47:00 AM
This sunscreen is truly dry-touch cus it's very drying on my skin and after a few hours of wearing it, I could see my facial skin looking very flaky and dry. Also, it leaves a prominent white cast which is impossible to blend in. The only thing that I like about this sunscreen is that it didn't irritate my skin/ make my skin red + very good uva and uvb protection

Lotions/ Creams -Cetaphil - Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion For Dry Sensitive Skin
junkfood1991 7/31/2011 4:30:00 AM
This tube of ultrahydrating lotion came with the cetaphil cleanser that I bought. My experience with this lotion is that it is very hydrating yet it doesn't make my skin look oily after an hour of application. I have used this for about a week day and night and so far i have got 1 pimple on my forehead which is probably just that I slept at 2pm last night. I personally think it really is non-comedogenic and I definitely will repurchase this just in case that my skin got very irritated and sensitive from overuse of tretinoin and chemical sunscreen.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Mentholatum Sun Play Perfect Shield Clear Finish SPF 130 PA++
junkfood1991 7/9/2011 6:09:00 AM
I think this product would be good for people with sensitive skin cus it honestly doesn't sting / irritate my skin. However, this sunscreen is very drying and in fact it dries out my skin so much that after 3-4 hours you can see obvious white flakes (my own layer of skin!! omfg!!) on my face. I think this would be the ideal sunscreen for those who doesn't use retin-a/ other dehydrating actives and those who got perfectly hydrated skin cus this sunscreen doesn't cause any breakouts and it has a very high SPF and PA.

Toners -Unlisted Brand - Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid
junkfood1991 7/5/2011 5:10:00 AM
I love this toner so much cus it's very hydrating and you get a 170ml of product for the price you pay. I definitely feel that my skin is less dry at night cus I usually sleep with my air-con on. I highly recommend this toner and believe it or not I think my skin got clearer although this toner can only moisturize your skin. Maybe it's the hyaluronic acid helping with the absorption of the tretinoin which I use after the toner at night.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Mentholatum ACNES UV Tinted Milk SPF 50
junkfood1991 7/3/2011 12:12:00 PM
Am I the only one who hates this sunscreen? I bought this cus it was on promotion along with acnes cleanser (which is very drying btw). I really thought this sunscreen would work out for me cus it's spf 50 PA+++ and from what I heard it's light weight and good for oily skin. However, it was absolutely a disaster for me cus as soon as I apply this on my face in the morning, pigment in the lotion (mind you it's tinited) looks very flaky on my face and the harder I rub it in, the more it balls up. I definitely can't wear this if I'm going to work cus it would make me look like I hv some kind of skin disease with nude-coloured flakes on my face. And yes I did shake it well before I used it and it made no difference. The second time when I used it was also a bad experience (yes I used it again although I hated it the first time) cus I forgot to shake it and when I squeezed the tube some kind of clear mineral oil came out. The expiry date was 2013. I really don't know why things like this would happen. Sigh... I thought this would be my HG sunscreen. =( And oh I forgot to mention that this suncreen is very hard to wash off with regular cleanser. I threw this product away after using it twice =( and I do NOT recommend this to anyone unless you wanna look like you got vitiligo.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - United Pharmacies - AcneDerm Cream (Azelaic Acid)
junkfood1991 7/3/2011 12:39:00 AM
My experience : OK. 2 years ago my acne went from mild to very very VERY severe because I started a new job which was too stressful for me, so I went to see GP and wanted to ask for accutane. However, my GP said I'd need to try topical retinoid 1st cause accutane is the last resort. After 1 month on tretinoin at night, literially all my pimples, blackhead and all the junk were gone, but it left all the red marks on my face. I kept using tretinoin for 3 more months and the red marks still remained (although my skin was already clear). Therefore, I tried this azelaic acid 20% cream after shower in combination with tretinoin at night. With both creams that I used for further 6 months, all my marks disappeared. In fact, it was so drastic that even people at work would ask me how I got my skin so clear and people who met me after I got clear had zero idea I used acne on every single inch of my face. I highly recommend this to anyone with acne! Cons: - its a lotion but if u rub it between your fingers it definitely balls up and u can't use a sunscreen/ anything on top of it. Thus, what i do is to wet my face 1st after shower and rub the lotion in my skin. That way the lotion won't ball up. - cant use it at the same time as tretinoin I tried it once and my skin became SOOOO itchy, so only use this lotion after shower. (cant use in the morning cus it balls up with sunscreen and not at night either cus tretinoin + this lotion makes my skin very itchy) - it's can be quite drying and u cant use moisturiser afterwards + it sorta gives you that white powdery appearance, so only use it when u dont plan to go out at night.

Cleansers -Nuxe - Cleansing Milk with 3 Roses (Lait Demaquillant aux 3 Roses)
junkfood1991 6/13/2011 1:17:00 AM
I used this cleansing milk back when I had acne prone skin and it worked perfectly as a rinse-off milky cleanser. However, now that my skin is clear and free of acne this cleansing milk has been become way too drying on my skin even in humid and hot environment. In fact, not only did I get a few dry rough patches now because of this cleansing milk I also felt that my skin produced more oil after it was dried out by this cleansing milk (yes more oily with dry patches). I just can't use it anymore.

Skincare - Body -Bio Oil - All Products
junkfood1991 1/16/2011 9:45:00 PM
I use bio oil as a pre-cleanse to get my sunscreen off. It makes my skin soft to touch, but I don't think I will use it as a leave on treatment on my face as it's basically mineral oil which is incompatible with my acne prone skin. It's quite oily, but it's ok I can always wash it off with my cetaphil. :) 3 stars.

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand - Natural Instinct - Natural Mineral Sunblock Cream SPF 30
junkfood1991 1/16/2011 4:22:00 PM
The product i'm reviewing is called micro-mineral suncreen spf30+ which comes as a yellow tube. This product is extremely whitening and it just made me look like a geisha (no joke and my teeth look yellowish compared to my face). Thanks god I tested it on my face on Sun or I'd just be so screwed up if I were to use it in the morning before I go to work. I did use it on my hands and it turned out fine. I just can't understand how something that is labelled micro-mineral and clear zinc can be so whitening on face. I'm so sad.

Treatments -Olay - Age Defying Daily Renewal Cream
junkfood1991 1/12/2011 7:59:00 PM
This is a nice BHA cream that I used for around 3 years when I was very young. It was an ok cream as it doesn't clog pores and it feels nice on, but it just doesn't treat acne / tiny wrinkles. I remember that I was using the loreal turning point (contains BHA too) every other night and I switched to this. The difference was significant cus this olay cream just didn't cut it cus the loreal turning point was way better 4 my acne.

Treatments -Vaseline - Vaseline
junkfood1991 1/12/2011 7:51:00 PM
This is fantastic for dry skin. It just gets rid of dryness overnight. I did use it as a lip balm, but it sorta broke me out around my lips. I know it is supposed to be non-comedogenic, but that could also mean that vaseline doesn't cause acne, but it can make your existing acne (resulting from stress, other products, hormones, ect...) way worse. Now I use it on my hands at night and it really hydrates skin VERY WELL like u can feel it protecting the next morning.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream
junkfood1991 1/12/2011 7:40:00 PM
This is a good retinol product. It had worked well 4 my acne until... it didn't work anymore. Since then I moved onto tretinoin cream which was a miracle cure 4 me. I recommend this product if you got mild acne or your skin is sensitive and if you want to try out retinol product.

Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum
junkfood1991 1/12/2011 7:21:00 PM
This is a feel-good serum which doesn't do anything. I used it 2 years ago and I think it's just like rubbing silicone on your face which just makes your skin feel nice and smooth. The peptides in this product are not effective + the packaging looks cheap although the texture is nice and scent is not overpowering.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Topix Replenix Green Tea Serum CF
junkfood1991 12/22/2010 6:22:00 PM
I have used this serum under my sunscreen and for some reason my skin was burned under the sun for half an hour. I think the additional photoprotection of green tea isn't that great, so I'm now using it along with my topix replenix firming serum and tretinoin cream at night. (green tea serum, firming serum and then tretinoin) This serum is brown and it just disappears on the skin after application, so there is no chance that it can clog pores. Honestly, I haven't seen any changes in terms of reduction of redness / skin sensitivity, but I will probably continue with this serum as a toner-gel before my tretinoin at night. I feel ok with it so far.
