Moisturizers -Kinerase - HydraBoost Intensive Treatment

I was surprised by how much I like this product. During these winter months, my skin became drier, and it was not feeling hydrated during the day. In order to deal with my dry skin, I started to apply Kinerase HydraBoost Intensive Treatment in the evening right before going to bed. After I washed my face, I would apply this product before I put on my moisturizer. I liked how this treatment felt upon application (no stinging, no irritation, no breakouts, and almost felt soothing). On the nights that I would use this product, I would wake up with healthier-looking and more hydrated skin. As the previous reviewers mentioned, HydraBoost Intensive Treatment smells like fruit loops, which I like!
I have sensitive, acne-prone, and combination/oily skin. I’ve used many types of moisturizers (both high end brands and brands found at the drugstore), yet CeraVe’s Moisturizing Lotion is my favorite. I began using this product after my dermatologist recommended it to me. I use this lotion each morning before I apply my makeup. The consistency feels lightweight, and it moisturizes my sensitive skin effectively without irritating it or clogging my pores. Not only do I use this for my face, but I also like to use it on dry patches of skin on my body. Also, for those who are do not like strongly scented products, you will like this particular lotion since it is unscented. This moisturizer is wonderfully priced (about $11-$14 for 12 fl oz), and its performance surpasses many higher end brands.
MAC Lust is a soft pinkish-brown lipglass, and it is my favorite lipglass that MAC has to offer. With my NC40 skintone, this color looks very natural. The formula is sticky, does not dry out my lips, and has a pleasant vanilla scent. It looks absolutely gorgeous by itself, but if you are looking for a lipstick to pair with this lipglass, I suggest MAC Hug Me or Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Blush. MAC Lust retails for $14.50 for 4.8 g/.17 oz. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, try NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Natural.
This is a beautiful purple cream nail polish with a grayish-tone that is a part of OPI's The Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Collection. The formula is relatively thin, applied with ease, and dried fast. Two to three coats were enough for a smooth and opaque finish. If you prefer to not purchase a full-size bottle of this nail polish, then you can buy a mini-version (3.75 mL - 1/8 fl oz) which is a part of a four piece set that include Planks A Lot, Skull & Glossbones, Sparrow Me the Drama, and Stranger Tides. I definitely recommend Planks A Lot to anyone who loves purples or is looking for a great summer nail polish.
Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF15

Last year, I had a difficult time with my skin and used too many harsh products that stripped the oil from my skin. At the beginning of this year, I was determined to improve my skin. So I simplified my skincare routine, and based off of recommendations, I purchased this moisturizer from Cetaphil. This product comes in very convenient bottle (4 fl oz) with a locking pump, and it travels very well. One full pump dispensed more than enough product for both my face and neck. The texture is lightweight, does not have a scent, and has SPF 15. Although my skin went from super dry and dehydrated to back to my normal/combination skin after 3 months of daily use, there are still a few drawbacks that make me not completely satisfied with this product. Even through it claims to be a "non-greasy formula," it does, in fact, feel a bit greasy/oily. When I first apply this moisturizer, my face is super shiny, and the product takes at least 5 minutes to absorb and dry. Also, I still experience a brief burning/tingling sensation upon application. Despite these drawbacks, my skin did clear up in 3 months. However, I am definitely keeping a lookout for something better.
I use Maybelline Full 'n Soft as an everyday mascara, but I wanted another mascara that would give me fuller eye lashes for a more dramatic look. Based off of some recommendations, I chose L'oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black. In general, I am a fan of L'oreal mascaras. When applied, this mascara did indeed deliver the full, dark, and beautiful lashes that I wanted. Also, it did not clump. The brush is short and fat, so it is not that easy to get to the the lashes near inner corner and outer corner of your eye. Unfortunately, after a couple of hours, this mascara smudged on me. My raccoon eyes looked awful. I'm pretty disappointed that this did not work out. I definitely do not recommend this mascara.
Although I am a fan of Korres products, I do not plan on repurchasing this item. This make up remover wipe is just average. I liked that it has a wonderful, pleasant and fresh pomegranate smell that was not overpowering and that it did not leave my face feeling greasy afterwards. However, it did not do a good job removing my eye make up. I do not wear heavy make up, so I don't recommend it to those that wear heavy makeup or use waterproof mascara unless you want to do some serious scrubbing to your face. The wipes were also not as moist as other make up remover wipes that I have used in the past. Maybe I just had a bad packet, but they just seemed dry as soon as I opened them. The packaging is like most wipes, but I had trouble keeping mine sealed. So it's best to store yours in a ziplock bag or a baby wipes container to retain its moisture. Really, I want to like it, but this is just a mediocre product.
Moisturizers -Boscia - Vital Daily Moisture SPF 15

This is an excellent daytime moisturizer. Although this product is quite expensive ($36 for 1.4 fl oz tube), I like that it is a natural product without parabens and preservatives. I love the packaging. It looks like it's in a regular tube, but there is a convenient pump that does not dispense too much product. It is lightweight, creamy and goes on with ease. On the face, it does not feel greasy at all. It seems like the texture of my skin is improving because it looks and feels much smoother and softer. I have acne-prone skin, and this moisturizer does not break me out, which is a BIG reason why I plan on repurchasing in the future. If I could pick one downfall, it would be that it only has an SPF 15, protecting against UVA/UVB rays. I would love it more if it had at least an SPF 30. Regardless, I highly recommend this product.
Masks -Korres - Yogurt Velvety Moisturizing Mask [DISCONTINUED]

I was having such a frustrating time with my skin all summer. After trying multiple products, I researched a little bit more and found the Korres Yoghurt Regimen Kit, which included this mask. What was wonderful about the kit is that it included a full size of this product (1.35 fl oz). Even though that does not sound like a lot, don't feel discouraged---you only need a little bit. The directions say you can use this 1-2 times a week, but I've heard others having great results using this mask more frequently. You can either apply it, leave it on for 15 minutes, and then wash off, or you can leave it on as an overnight cream. Either way your skin with feel hydrated and smooth the next day. This product is for people with oily and dry/dehydrated skin. Literally, after 2 nights of applying this at night, my dry skin improved significantly! The dry patches on my face was no longer flaky. I've used this product for a month now and have not had any dry sections on my face. The texture of the mask is smooth and creamy, and it applies with ease. I highly recommend this product to any one who has combination (oily and dry) skin and would like to try a natural skin care line.
Like others, I was drawn to this particular NARS blush because it did not have the shimmer/sparkle like the other blushes. This is a beautiful color, highly pigmented, and very good quality. Very little is needed to achieve a natural pop of color on your cheeks, so I expect that this will last me a long time. I love this blush and find myself using this one a lot.
This is an average moisturizer. It only has SPF 15, and I tend to prefer moisturizers with at least 30. I have acne-prone skin, so a good thing about this product is that it is oil-free and application does not feel heavy. The packaging is sleek and portable. It is an affordable daily moisturizer but is nothing special. I did not notice my pores appearing smaller either. I do not plan on repurchasing.
After hearing such great things about NYX products, I finally picked up my first NYX lip glosses: one in Natural and one in Sponge Cake. Since I have full lips and I tend to play up my eyes more, I like a neutral color lip. This gloss in Natural is a very pretty color. The formula is not sticky at all and feels moisturizing. When I first opened it, I was a little surprised by how sweet it smelled. I was almost turned off by it, but when you put it on the smell fades. Also, when I saw that the brush is angled, I was nervous that it would put out too much product, but thank goodness, it didn't. The application is very smooth and consistent. I'm starting to become a big fan of NYX and will be trying out other colors! If you like neutral lip products and would like to try a NYX gloss, I do recommend this. If you would like to try a gloss similar to this with some shimmer, I recommend the NYX Mega Shine lip gloss in Sponge Cake.
So I went to Sephora on mission to buy a new lip gloss. I had never tried Buxom lip glosses, but I heard such great things about them, that I had to try. At first I was a little hesitant because 1) I have pretty full lips, and I had never tried a plumping lip gloss; and 2) Since I've never tried a plumping lip gloss, I didn't know what to expect when other people said I would feel "a tingling sensation." When I tried it, I was pleasantly surprised. My lips didn't swell to some crazy size. The tingling sensation is actually pretty cool. The texture is slightly sticky but not the kind where your hair annoyingly sticks to your lips on a windy day (I mean it will, but it doesn't feel gross :) It smells sweet in the tube, but I can't smell it when I'm wearing it. Now I absolutely love the Buxom lip glosses. I ended up purchasing Sugar, Dolly, and the Sailor Girl set. For my skin tone (NW30), Sugar is my daily lip gloss and looks the most natural, and I love it. If you are worried about it feeling too sticky as time goes on, try putting a little bit of Smith's Rosebud Salve on before applying this gloss--it'll feel a bit more slicker =)
Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - HIP Shine Struck Liquid Lip Color Reserved
jujubot 5/20/2010 7:51:00 PM
I was at the drugstore and didn't expect to buy anything. When I was looking at makeup, I noticed that this lip gloss was 75% off (original price was $12). I would not have bought it if it had not been on sale. When I got home, I tried it on, and I was really surprised. I have darker tan skin, and I prefer nude color lip gloss (nothing that stands out too much). Reserved look good on me. I like that it was not sticky and that the texture was really smooth and creamy. Like other reviewers mentioned, the smell is sweet, kind of like caramel. It's not sheer---it's full color. So I am pleasantly surprised and would buy this again.
Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in Deep Purple
jujubot 5/20/2010 7:42:00 PM
This is such a great purple. It took two coats to apply, and it goes on pretty smoothly. I put this color on my toes, and it did not chip during the week I had it on. This is my favorite out of the Xtreme Wear colors.
