Fragrances -Philosophy - Falling in Love
rated 4 of 5

I adore this scent. To my nose it's a light, fluffy raspberry cotton candy with a slight hint of musk on the drydown. Berry and candy are both scents that often smell somewhat 'cheap', but Philosophy did a great job here. Falling In Love, despite its young-at-heart notes, manages to smell both feminine and sophisticated. This scent also seem to be very inviting--I get compliments on it from strangers and friends alike! Definitely one to try for those who love sweet scents.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Dandelion
rated 5 of 5

This is one of my favorite makeup products of all time. I have used it on many friends (I'm a pusher with this one!) and have never seen it look bad on any skin tone. It brings an immediate brightness, freshness, and healthy glow to the face, and is perfect for a *no-makeup* day, a *lots-of-makeup* evening, and everything in between. Also, a pot lasts a very long time--a year plus with daily use, for me--which completely justifies the price. And the packaging is adorable. An all around winner that I'd recommend to anyone.

Gels/Soaps -L'Occitane - Sweet Lemon Shower Cream with Shea Milk
rated 4 of 5
jujeanne 8/7/2005 11:51:00 AM

I love this shower cream. The lemon is definitely sweet, and almost... powdery. Like a cool, refreshing, and yet melt-in-your-mouth lemon tea cookie covered in powdered sugar. Very soft and feminine and not in the least bit sharp. The cream itself performs well too. It leaves skin soft and moisturized. Also, the scent remains on the skin for quite some time post-shower, which is a big bonus for me. Great product!

Fragrances -Fresh - Fig Apricot
rated 4 of 5
jujeanne 7/9/2005 12:50:00 AM

I'm not sure why this one's not so popular... I find it really nice. It's sweet, feminine, and fun. On first spray, I get a very strong peachy/apricot. Shortly after that it turns to a subtle fig, and then later in the day softens to a nice marine note. The scent is not overpowering at any stage, and it has quite a good progression in the variation of layers, I think. This is the type of scent that smells really good, but is not in any way perfumey in the traditional sense. Just a clean, fresh, fruity hint of scent.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Carthusia I Profumi - IO 'Capri'
rated 5 of 5

Io by Carthusia is absolutely gorgeous. I enjoy most fig scents, but this one is my very favorite out there. The tea mingled with the fig is marvelous... There's something both deeply complex and yet pure and unadulterated about this scent. It smells as I imagine a walk through a grove of fig trees heavy with ripe fruit would--sweet, fresh, grassy (almost minty), and slightly woodsy. 'Tis a beautiful, beautiful scent.

Fragrances -GAP Beauty - Om
rated 5 of 5

Gap Om, how I adore thee. This is one of my very favorite fall/winter-time perfumes. I've been wearing it since it first came out, and I never tire of it. It's at once spicy, sweet, slightly citrusy, earthy, warm, and clean. The scent is, to me, very comforting, almost like a hot cup of delicious spicy herbal tee with a spoonful of sugar. In my opinion, this is the best scent ever released by the Gap. Sure, the lasting power isn't great, but with such a tiny price tag I don't mind. If ever there comes a time at which I cannot find my Om, I shall be greatly saddened.

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Blush

I have mixed feelings about this one. I initially loved it and bought a full size bottle (off of Ebay, for much less than retail value, thank God), but after having had it in my collection for a while I stopped using it so much. I love the pretty jasmine and honeysuckle notes, but I've begun to notice sort of a *gym socks* note lingering in the background. I think I'm just picking up more of the musk and sandalwood now, and it's not all meshing well for me. However, I'm sure my nose will begin to favor this one again sometime, so I'm not giving up on it yet. I will say, however, that the lasting power is not great, and I'm not sure the product is worth its actual retail value.

Fragrances -Stila - Creme Bouquet
rated 4 of 5
jujeanne 7/8/2005 11:12:00 AM

I have been in the habit of keeping a bottle of this on hand for about two years, and I have to say I enjoy this fragrance quite a bit. It is very, very sweet though... The floral is there, but to me it's more of a strong vanilla with a bit of floral rather than the other way around. I would like more of the lily of the valley/lilac notes, but have been happy with this product regardless. I just look elsewhere for my clean, fresh florals and use this when I'm in the mood for something sweeter. I always, always get compliments from coworkers/friends when I wear this. And the little bottle is adorable.

Fragrances -LUSH - Ginger

I absolutely adore this fragrance. Admittedly, its scent is very unusual. However, once one gets past the newness of this type of scent, it truly is beautiful. It is a spicy, deep, thick, complex, earthy floral. To me it smells quite decadent, like something royalty would bathe in. It is anything but cutesy, it's a strong, confident, womanly scent. Just marvelous.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Feminine
rated 2 of 5
jujeanne 7/6/2005 2:26:00 AM

I'm not at all wowed by this fragrance. I thought I'd like it because I like white florals, musks, vanillas, sandalwood, and citrus--so a combination of them all should be great, right? Wrong. I don't like the initial scent, and I don't like it any more after it's dried down. The various notes are not present in a good combination. The combination of overly sweet vanilla and floral with that background of musk (I don't really pick up anything but these three) somehow smells almost like baby powder to me--nice for a baby, but not very 'feminine' in my opinion. This fragrance is very boring, and doesn't live up to the hype.

Fragrances -L'Aromarine - Oceane
rated 4 of 5
jujeanne 7/2/2005 2:55:00 PM

This fragrance is nearly perfect. It smells wonderfully fresh and clean (in an outdoorsy sea air way rather than a soapy way). The scent, albeit fairly light, lasts most of the day. Plus, it's unobtrusive enough to be worn anywhere. For special occasions I might not choose this one, but it's fitting for any other time. For those who care about packaging, the little bottle is very pretty, and for those who care about cost, Oceane is quite affordable! An all around winner.

Fragrances -Elizabeth W - Sweet Tea EDP Spray
rated 5 of 5
jujeanne 7/2/2005 2:38:00 PM

I love this fragrance! It smells of refreshing iced black tea with lots of simple syrup and lots of lemon. The scent begins on a strong sweet tea note with very noticeable lemon, and then fades to a very nice subtle version of its just-sprayed self. It doesn't last terribly long on me, but it's inexpensive enough that I don't feel badly about having to reapply during the day. I also layer it with the body lotion, which is just as lovely as the spray. Definitely a perfect summer scent, but wonderful as a pick-me-up in the cooler months as well!

Fragrances -Ungaro - Apparition
rated 3 of 5
jujeanne 6/30/2005 5:40:00 PM

This product is just okay. Immediately after spraying, the scent is (to me) almost repulsive. It smells similar BBW's Sun Ripened Raspberry, but cheaper somehow. Like an overdone raspberry scented restroom air-freshener. After the dry down, however, the scent is actually quite nice. It softens to a sugary sweet, high-class raspberry confection scent. (Incidentally, a grown-up and womanly raspberry scent can indeed be found here if that's all one is looking for). What's disappointing is that I don't get any other notes. The cayenne pepper (which I was excited about), rose, passion flower, and patchouli are nowhere to be found. The fragrance overall is far less interesting and complex than I was hoping.
