Crème -Bobbi Brown - Oil-Free Even Finish Compact Foundation
rated 1 of 5
judysmath 3/25/2013 5:04:00 PM

Streaky even with primer.... I tried it with and without primer and with a BB foundation brush and the sponge applicator and my fingers and it streaked no matter what. It also pooled in my pores and fine lines and crevices. I felt like a greasy mess and it came off on everything. There are way better foundations in the drugstore that beat the pants off this over-priced mess of a foundation. Don't waste your money on this!

Foundations -Wet 'n' Wild - Coverall Cream Foundation
rated 3 of 5

After an exhaustive search, I found this foundation at KMart. I also picked up a matching Coverall powder. I have a very oily t-zone and lots of broken capillaries and dark spots all over my face and usually go for a medium/buildable or full coverage foundation.I have to say, this foundation covers everything beautifully without having to build it up. I do get oily wearing this, but I blot on the Coverall powder where I need it and it looks fine. On me,this foundation is not cakey and doesn't settle into fine lines and gives an airbrushed finish. Very good for the price. I will re-purchase. EDIT: I still love the coverage and the non-cakey look, but it's greasy and slides off the skin. Also, be very careful when squeezing the tube because the foundation shoots out. The opening really should be made smaller. I squeeze it onto a flat mirror to dab my stippling brush into it and I've wasted a lot of product.

Powder -Clarins - Everlasting Compact Foundation SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
judysmath 3/15/2013 2:40:00 PM

I am a fan of Everlasting Liquid foundation, but wanted to try the powder version for quick, on-the-go application. The packaging is gorgeous and the powder provides really good coverage without looking too powdery. However, this foundation makes my skin super oily and it is NOT long lasting or transfer-resistant. I have an oily t-zone and I have to touch up every few hours. It comes off when I blow my nose or wipe my mouth area at lunch and when I blot during the day. I really wanted to like this because I love the liquid version, but for the price, it's just not worth it for me. I will use it up, but will not re-purchase.

Pressed Powders -Revlon - ColorStay Pressed Powder
rated 4 of 5

Wow, not much love for this powder on here. I happen to like it. I have a very oily t-zone and use this to set my long wearing foundation du jour to keep the oilies at bay and even out my skintone. I pat it on with the puff instead of sweeping it on or using a powder brush. It mattifies my skin and gives me a polished, finished look and keeps me from getting as shiny as I would without it. I really like this and will re-purchase.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher Water Resistant
rated 1 of 5
judysmath 1/30/2013 4:31:00 PM

This mascara is water resistant, not waterproof, but on me it wasn't even water resistant. I usually wear wp mascara because my eyes tear from allergies. I had trepidation about buying a mascara that is merely water resistant, but I didn't listen to my gut and got it anyway. Within a short period of time, almost all the mascara on my top lashes migrated to below my eyes. By the end of the day, I hardly had any mascara on my lashes but I had a nice case of raccoon eyes. A disaster! On the plus side, it didn't clump but I had to apply many coats to get significant volume and length. I will not buy this again.

Crème -L'Oreal - True Match Super Blendable Compact Makeup
rated 1 of 5
judysmath 1/20/2013 11:16:00 PM

This foundation didn't work for me. It applied nicely enough with buffing and patting and the color melded with my skin color, but it caked in my fine lines under my eyes and rubbed off on everything and had to keep touching up during the day. I have an oily t zone and I was a greasy mess after only a couple of hours. The packaging is a nightmare. It is big and clunky and awkward to open the foundation side and then get to the sponge underneath. Someone mentioned a mirror. There is a mirror? Where? You shouldn't need a degree in engineering to figure out how to open and use a compact. Sadly, this is going back go CVS.

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - Matte Collection Quad Eye Shadow in Canyon Classic
rated 3 of 5
judysmath 1/5/2013 12:42:00 PM

I have a love/hate relationship with this palette. Although other reviewers have said there's no color payoff, I think they're very pigmented. I wear them over a flesh toned eyeshadow base... maybe that's why. The browns in this palette are more taupe than brown and I find that the medium brown and the dark gray/brown when used on the lid and crease respectively, kind of blend together and there isn't much differentiation. I've learned to work with the shadows and find it good for a smokey eye. Despite the fact that I have brown eyes, these colors make my eyes pop instead of making them muddy. My big complaint is that the shadows are chalky and I can see myself hitting pan quickly. Also, there is a lot of fallout when applying. The fallout is annoying. These stay on pretty well with primer, but do tend to crease a little by the end of the day. I may buy this again when I run out for those times when I want a neutral smokey eye, but I'm not totally loving it.

Mascara -Maybelline - The Rocket Volume Express
rated 4 of 5
judysmath 1/2/2013 4:48:00 PM

I use the waterproof version. This mascara doesn't clump or smear and delivers decent volume and length. I gave it only 4 stars because it takes 3 coats to give me WOW lashes because the black isn't dark enough and it goes on kind of dry. The main advantage of this mascara is that it doesn't clump.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Caresse Shine Stain / Shine Caresse
rated 4 of 5
judysmath 1/1/2013 6:19:00 PM

I own one YSL glossy stain and 4 of the L'Oreal versions and I like the L'Oreal ones better. It applies smoothly with no splotches and when it dries, it doesn't move and is transfer resistant without being drying or sticky and it stays glossy for a long time. I like the YSL glossy stain but find that the L'Oreal version is more long wearing and transfer resistant. I also like the packaging... very upscale looking. EDIT: I have downgraded this to 4 lippies. I still love the way these look and wear, but I have two complaints: 1. The color on the tube is nothing like the actual color. I mean, WAY off. 2. They feel glossy and creamy while on and stay that way for a long time, but as soon as it wears off or I take it off, my lips are Sahara dry and no amount of balm can fix it.

Concealers -L'Oreal - True Match Super Blendable Crayon Concealer
rated 5 of 5

I really like this concealer. I have very dark under eye circles and this concealer wiped them away. It's creamy but doesn't settle into fine lines and stays put all day. I'm very pleased and plan to purchase this again and again.

Lipstick -Estee Lauder - Pure Gloss Vivid Shine Lipstick - Gunmetal Luminizer
rated 5 of 5
judysmath 12/29/2012 2:45:00 AM

This is a unique lipstick intended to deepen and alter the color of a lighter lipstick. I don't use it often, but find it useful to beef up light lipstick that doesn't suit me that I would ordinarily return. It's a good lipstick to have in your collection for this reason.

Lips -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain (All Shades)
rated 5 of 5
judysmath 12/7/2012 3:31:00 PM

I just bought my first Glossy Stain in #13 Rose Tempura (online at Sephora with VIB bucks.) Now I understand what all the hype is about! I've tried every single stain and long wearing lipstick and gloss out there and this one beats them all hands down. It goes on creamy and glossy but doesn't "set" into a dry mess like most stains and long wearing lip products. It held up during eating and drinking and remained shiny. However, If I wipe my lips a lot while eating, the glossiness goes away and there is a faint tint left, that's kind of splotchy, but I simply re-apply. I don't think there will ever be a gloss that will stand up to a full day of eating and drinking and talking, etc., so I didn't expect this to, however it is the longest wearing, most shiny and most comfortable gloss I've ever worn. Rose Tempura is a bright berry pink and very wearable. I would now like to try other shades. Oh, and the smell doesn't bother me.

Fragrances -Diane Von Furstenberg - DIANE
rated 5 of 5
judysmath 12/6/2012 4:43:00 PM

First of all, I bought this on the Sephora site and the 3.3 oz bottle was less expensive than the 1.7 oz and it was a great deal! I had to try it after reading reviews and saw that it was on sale. This fragrance is exactly what I have been looking for. It's sophisticated, unique and powerful and I feel enveloped by it and transported to an era when women "dressed" and were elegant. When I wear this, I know I don't smell like everyone else wearing typical dept store perfume. There's something magical and mysterious about it. Be cautious when spritzing, though. This fragrance is strong and one little spritz will get you through day and night and you will still smell it when you wake up in the morning. Love it!

Blush -E.L.F. - studio blush in berry merry
rated 5 of 5
judysmath 11/18/2012 4:23:00 AM

Berry Merry is my first ELF blush and I'm very impressed. It's very pigmented and you only need a little. The sparkle isn't too much and looks like more of a shimmer than sparkle. This is the perfect fall/winter blush for my medium toned skin. Very good quality for the price.

Lipstick -Ulta - Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
judysmath 11/18/2012 3:09:00 AM

I ordered 6 Ulta lipsticks online when they had a Buy 3 Get 3 promotion and I'm really impressed. My particular favorite is Sugar & Spice, which is a gorgeous MLBB shade and my everyday go-to color. All of the ULTA lipsticks are very creamy and opaque and fairly long wearing. I really like the packaging, which I find to be upscale looking for such an inexpensive product.
