I found this at Marshalls for $29.99 so I decided to try it. The scent is not at all what I expected, but I really do like it - it's very fresh and sexy. I'm not just saying this, but I have honestly never received this many compliments on a fragrance that I've worn. And of course, compliments are always a confidence-booster! All in all, this turned out to be a good buy and I'll probably repurchase - especially at that price!
My boyfriend bought me this perfume as a gift after being away for a long period of time and I am SO thankful he did! It smells so enticing and beautiful! I love fragrances but this is by far one of the best I've ever tried. The scent is noticeable, but not overpowering. It's sort of spicy, but still feminine. I feel really sexy when I wear The Beat and best of all, it's super long-lasting! The price is really steep but I might have to splurge once this bottle runs out
Hair Removal -Unlisted Brand - Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave - Dry Skin
jsellers 4/15/2010 3:18:00 PM
Wow, definitely not for me! I bought this when it was on sale at CVS, thinking it would essentially the same thing as the other Skintimate shaving creams I'd used. Wrong! I used this a few times, but it irritated my skin and made it break out into a rash. Total opposite of sensitive and moisturizing for me.
Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Juice - Pink Grapefruit
jsellers 8/12/2009 12:25:00 AM
This is my first Colour Juice and I am SO impressed! The texture is great: it's thick enough to stay on my lips, but not slimy or sticky-feeling. The color, Pink Grapefruit, turns out to be a milky pale pink on my lips. It has very fine pink shimmer that doesn't look childish on the lips. Overall, this gloss just makes my lips look full and shiny. I really couldn't ask for more...I love this.
Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Shadow Stylist Elegant Pearl
jsellers 8/12/2009 12:18:00 AM
I picked this up when Maybelline eye products were buy one get one free at Walgreen's. The packaging is interesting...The screw-off cap is attached to a sponge-tip applicator that applies the powder shadow. This makes it easy to apply precisely where you want it, but I still have to blend with my finger or a brush. I use this to highlight my brow bone, and the color is really nice for that. I was worried about the texture when I first applied this as it seemed very chalky. However, after some blending, it was much more natural. I'll repurchase because the color is exactly what I was looking for and I actually like the packaging.
Concealers -mark - good riddance hook up concealer (all)
jsellers 8/12/2009 12:12:00 AM
Good Riddance is a creamy concealer pencil. From my experience, this concealer offers great coverage for undereyes and blemishes. Plus, I love the "hook-up" concept! This product can be attached to other mark products for easy travel. My biggest complaint is that the pencil runs out quickly. The price is cheap, but I have to repurchase a little more often than I'd like. Even so, I will continue to repurchase as this is the best concealer I've used.
Lips -Wet 'n' Wild - Jumbo Juicy Lip Balm in Strawberry
jsellers 8/12/2009 12:07:00 AM
I am obsessed with Wet n Wild's Jumbo Juicy balms. They are surprisingly moisturizing! This has a scent that lives up to its name: a nice, inoffensive strawberry. The best thing about these is that they are great value. You get an enormous stick for a really low price. They retail for about $2.99 at most drugstores, but each one that I've bought has been on sale. This one was $1.29. I would definitely repurchase :)
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
jsellers 8/12/2009 12:01:00 AM
I love this cream liner! The color does not disappoint: it's a true, intense matte black. The staying power is incredible, on either upper or lower lashline. Lasts for several hours with no smudging. The included brush is pretty good, but it's a bit rough on the waterline. Beautiful texture! It's so creamy and easy to apply. I will buy this liner again and again, in any of the colors.
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Eggplant
jsellers 8/11/2009 11:57:00 PM
I love cream liners: they are so much more gentle than pencils on my sensitive lids, and way easier to use than liquid liners. That said, HiP's Cream Eyeliner is the best cream liner I've tried. The staying power is AMAZING. I used this on both my upper and lower lashline, and it stays for several hours in both places with hardly any smudging. Its creamy texture glides on very easily. The included brush is decent, but can be a tiny bit rough on the waterline. The liner has a matte finish, which I really like. As for the color, it's a really pretty deep purple that brings out the best in my brown eyes. I would highly recommend any of the HiP Cream Liners, especially this color.
Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara Waterproof
jsellers 8/11/2009 11:49:00 PM
I know this mascara has received a lot of negative attention, but I think it has some admirable qualities. The best thing about this mascara is that it absolutely does not produce clumps. I'm guessing this is because of the small brush. Also, this mascara does lengthen my lashes, and it is actually waterproof. However, Great Lash really doesn't offer any drama. I have to apply several coats until I can even tell that it's there. It doesn't seem to thicken lashes or coat them with intensely dark color. I said that I would repurchase because this is a cheap mascara to use when I want a natural makeup look. It takes a little more effort to achieve the result I want, but it does separate my lashes beautifully. It's not my go-to mascara, but it can come in handy.
Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
jsellers 8/11/2009 11:42:00 PM
I recently bought Shadow Insurance in hopes of making my shadows last longer. I got really tired of having to reapply/touch up throughout the day. This has definitely saved me from doing that! The packaging is nice. It comes in a squeeze tube that allows just enough product to come out. Though the price may seem high for such a small amount of product, a little really goes a long way. I only need to put a tiny dot on each lid and rub it in with my finger. Shadow Insurance can feel a little greasy, but that goes away once it has dried onto the lids. Also, I'm not sure about it making shadows appear more pigmented. I can't tell whether it does or not. Overall, I love this product because it keeps my shadows in place throughout the day. I consider it an investment: I can use lower priced shadows as this increases staying power, and I use less shadow because I don't have to reapply. Thanks Shadow Insurance ;)
Lipstick -Clinique - Almost Lipstick - Black Honey
jsellers 8/11/2009 11:35:00 PM
First let me just say that I love the packaging. It comes in a sleek, silver tube with a slanted tip. It's ideal and looks beautiful. With just one swipe, Black Honey is a sheer, matte wine/berry shade that's very wearable for daytime. It's definitely buildable for more drama. Pretty color either way! The texture is great: it's not shiny like a gloss or thick like a lipstick. My only complaint is that it really emphasizes cracks in my lips. Make sure your lips are well moisturized before applying. Other than that, I'm really enjoying this product and will repurchase if I ever run out.
Eyeliner -mark - eyemarker color on eyeliner in Enchanted Forest
jsellers 6/8/2009 1:47:00 AM
I've always been a sucker for retractable liners so this was right up my alley. Enchanted Forest is a slightly shimmery forest green -- beautiful compliment to my brown eyes. It's a little lighter than I expected it to be, but it's buildable for a darker green. My only real issue is the amount of product -- it's only .009 oz! Needless to say, I was a little shocked when I went to twist the bottom for more liner and nothing else came out. Otherwise, I'm thoroughly impressed with this liner! I generally use it on my waterline and it glides on very smoothly. The lasting power is very nice; it stays put for several hours, and it only fades after long wear rather than smudging. I will definitely buy more Eyemarkers. They provide incredible quality for a great value. I like this shade a lot, and I'm excited to try the others!
Lip Gloss -Lancome - Juicy Tubes Maharani Jewels in Guava Enchantment
jsellers 6/8/2009 1:38:00 AM
I recently picked up this gloss at TJ Maxx for like $7.99, and I must say that I like it! Guava Enchantment goes on as a sheer coral shade. It adds just a hint of color and shine that really brightens up my lips. Because the texture is so thick, this gloss hardly dries out my lips, especially with balm underneath. There is a slight citrusy scent. I think it's refreshing, but I can't really smell it once the gloss is on your lips, so it's definitely not bothersome. Beyond the gloss itself, I'm a big fan of the packaging: the squeeze tube and slanted tip make for super easy application. Seems to be quite a bit of product in there. The gold scroll detailing and gold cap are cute too! Overall, good buy. It'll be nice in the summer for an easy, natural look. Would repurchase in this shade and others.
These are expensive for tweezers, but SO worth it. I had no idea there were such differences between brands of tweezers. These make plucking a million times easier. Wonderful for people with out of control brows like me! Plus, I got a pink mini-slant pair with white polka dots and they're really cute :)
