I love love love this hand lotion! I have very dry hands and cuticles all the time and this lotion has worked wonders for me! I disagree with the reviewer who didn't like the smell; I think it has a mild and clean smell, not overpowering. But smell is in the nose of the beholder. Anyway, if you use this lotion every day you will see a HUGE improvement in your hands. My almost 45 year old dry hands look like 25 year old, well hydrated hands and they stay soft between applications! It is a bit pricey, $14 for a 1.7 oz tube, but well worth it, I have 2. One for my purse and one for my bathroom because I CAN'T be without it!! Try it.
I have this product in two colors: Noir, and new for summer 2008 is Oriental Metal. I have reviewed the Noir, this is a review of the color Oriental Metal. It is a beautiful, dark grey/light black color. It is much lighter in color than the Noir, which is dark black. The Oriental Metal goes on sort of taupe/grey with one swipe, if you reapply a second time, it (obviously) is a little darker grey. Almost light black. The same goes for this review as for the review I did of the Noir. Same packaging, same for application, etc. I am able to apply it the "eastern" way which is to put wand into inner corner of eye, close eye and swipe wand toward outer corner of eye. It lines the inner rims of eyes and will give you a little "fall out" around outer edges of eyes; for that smudgy dark eyed look we are all after! It is a great product, and for 43 year old women, with tiny lines around eye lids, it is so easy to put on and wear. I prefer this color for day time as it is not as dark and dramatic as the Noir. The Noir is perfect for evenings out. You do not even need any other eye make up as this makes enough of a statement! LOVE IT!! One thing though, I think this color (Oriental Metal) is limited time only, for summer 2008. So, hurry!!
I was told at the Dior counter that I had tiny lines in my lips (not at outside edges as most women my age do). I have young looking skin, but I guess dry lips. (with lines!) I bought this and it is my first lip plumper I've tried. Now I didn't expect to get full lips, just less lines I guess. I've been using it as directed, once a day for 26 days now and have seen nothing different. I don't mind the vanilla mint scent and slight tingling when applied. It also has great staying power, it stays put for hours. I actually like it as a lip gloss for it's staying power and slightest bit of pink color. I say that I would not buy it again simply because it did nothing to plump or firm or de-line my lips, and I could get the same clear with hint of pink gloss from many other products.
This product is a very nice, rich black with a hint (just a hint) of sparkle. (I don't like too much sparkle). It goes on darker than it initially looks. It looks grayish when applied to back of your hand. I found it quite easy to apply the Eastern way; which is to close your eyes and swipe the applicator outwards. (applicator goes between lids when eyes are closed) I got hardly any powder on my cheeks, a tiny bit, so I would also recommend to apply before foundation and face. It stays put all day, but I did notice a little smudging below my lashes. But I actually like the smudging; it looks like a smoky, smudgy eye that I have always wanted but could never do with pencil liners, gel liners or even eyeshadow used as liner. It is a little pricey for an eyeliner, but I suspect it will last a long time. My only issue is hygiene-- after putting that applicator basically against my eyeball, how clean it is to put back into the powder? I may email Guerlain and ask! I would buy again, and may try the blue (which is beautiful) and the brown too!!
