Shampoo -Dove - Damage Therapy Intensive Repair Shampoo

If you find that you are losing more hair than normal, try this shampoo. Not only was I losing a good bit of hair in the shower, my floors and clothes looked like I had a cat in the house. Almost immediately, I found an improvement (within the first few washes). It may not work for you, but it was next to miraculous for me.
Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Anastasia Brow Powder

My eyebrows have thinned at the ends (tails) because of aging. It has been very hard to find something that looks fairly natural and doesn't have color that is too dark or too orangey. My hair is platinum grey, and most blond shades tend to appear orangey. I've even tried to find grey eyeshadows to blend, but most of those glitter. I have been using Anastasia's Ash Blonde / Taupe color. Although expensive, it's the best color I've found. I use the wax pencil before applying the powder, which really helps to set the product and tame the brows as well. I use the lighter shade on the area with the most brow and the darker on the thinner areas (the Sephora consultant gave me that tip). It is expensive, but I think that a powder shadow may work well if you get the wax pencil. I just haven't been able to find a believable color. I will buy again because of the color, and I'll always buy the wax pencil, even if I can find a cheaper powder.
I use a round foundation brush to apply this makeup. A brush creates a much finer finish than the sponge. It is very difficult to determine which color to buy. The color in the package looks about 3 shades darker than it does on the skin. I am on my second compact because the first one, Vanilla, is far too light, especially with a bit of a tan. I do find the packaging to be overdone: too large and hard to open. I like the screen a lot, especially for using a brush instead of a sponge. The foundation does an excellent job of hiding age spots, and most importantly, it doesn't settle in my pores so I don't have a "pixelated" look. Also, this product is easy to regulate and accommodates a heavy application well. Very near perfect!!
Brows -Make Up For Ever - Make Up For Ever Waterproof Eyebrow Corrector

It stays on all day. It's a good product, but I got the lightest color and it is far too orangey brown/blond. The color looks fake. Also, the squeeze tube spits our inconsistent doses, so there is a good bit of waste.
Treatments -Peter Thomas Roth - Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads

I am about two-thirds finished with the pads in the jar. I have been trying to use it 3 times a week. I leave it on for at least 3 minutes, but sometimes more. My skin appears smoother, even the neck area. My skin had developed scaley areas that were always present, and this product is removing them. My only disappointment is that the product doesn't really affect age spots--that may come later, though. At this point, I have to keep using it because of the noticeable improvement. The wrinkes above my lips appear less prominent. In fact, no other product that I have ever used has made such a significant difference in my skin not only in the looks of it but also in the feel of the skin. I was going to give 4 stars because of the age spots issue, but changed my mind. I think this product works better for older skin.
Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Super Clean Spray

This is called a "finishing spray." It does nothing for the hair and the "finishing" must refer to the last product you apply to the hair before you leave for where ever you are headed. It's pretty useless, and it smells funny. It is also labeled "flexible style." I guess that means that it will wilt just like your hair would without the spray and the smell. Save your money.
Mascara -Revlon - Lash Fantasy Total Definition Waterproof
jojenja9 11/13/2010 8:06:00 AM
Update: I did find that this mascara dried out pretty fast, and the clumping effect set in, too. This has been a very good, very waterproof mascara. It doesn't clump until it gets a little dried out, but I roll the brush on a tissue before applying, and the clumps stay on the tissue. The main triumph of this mascara is that it doesn't deposit flakes and smudges under the eyes. The color "Black/Noir" is good and my lashes are well-defined. This is a two-step mascara, but I always used a primer anyway. If you want a blast of volume, you may be disappointed in this product, but I think that it does a decent job without all of the crusty clumps. I like it.
Lip Treatments -Neosporin - Lip Health Overnight Renewal Therapy
jojenja9 11/13/2010 8:00:00 AM
I've started using this in the morning before I leave for work (I rarely wear lipstick because of older skin and grey hair) and my lips feel very moist most of the day. With the daytime version of this product, I do have to reapply--but less often than with other brands. So far this is only a neck ahead of the Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm, but it's worth the money. Also, I only need to use a very small amount to get results. And for those who object to the smell of Honey Lip Balm, this is a terrific alternative. I would like it to come in a stick version for convenience, but that would mean more wax.
Styling Products -Unlisted Brand - big sexy hair - Spray & Stay

The spray works. I use it for styling as well as holding. One quick spray, and the style is in place and lasting. My hair isn't stiff or crackly when sprayed, and I can even run my fingers throught my hair if needed. Pleasant smell. The label promises "All nighter Hair Spray," and it isn't an empty promise. Absolutely the best hair spray for any purpose, as I can adjust for my needs with a heavier or a lighter spray. I have fine, slightly wavy hair and the spray doesn't turn my hair into wet-looking strands, or fuzzy clumps. Worth the $5.00 for a trial size, but you'll want more.
Update: The forumla seems to have changed. It lathers up much more than my old bottle. I don't like too much lather because my hair is fine and lather means buildup for me. I've stopped using it now. If I would have read the reviews here, I would never have bought this shampoo. It was given to me in a trial set. I have been using this shampoo for the past week and I am really happy with it. My hair stays less oily for longer (I think that's because there is no soap residue after rinsing--that's probably because it doesn't make so many suds it's hard to rinse out). I have fine, straight hair and it stays fuller and holds the style for longer than with other shampoos. I am also using the conditioner and I am equally pleased. And . . .my hair feels like silk. One of the best shampoos I have ever used.
Finally, I've have found a brow product that doesn't require a trip to the mall or a trip to the mortage lender. I use Dark Blonde, which is compatible with my grey hair, although I don't know why there are no grey brow colors. I have tried shadows, pencils, gels, and this is one of the best (although my favorite is LeClerc's brow pencil. Pros: goes on precisely, looks close to natural because it has a sharp point all the time since it is a twist up package, stays on all day, it's cheap, I can find it almost anywhere. Cons: It does't last very long (but it's cheap).
I don't like this mascara. It is not waterproof or even water resistant. Nice brush, though. Have only used it twice, and both times I had the ominous black smudges under my eyes.
I keep buying blades for this razor. I don't find that they dull anymore than others. I don't have to worry about nicks, and it's easy to rinse. I use the handy stick up offered with the razor and I can keep the new blades ready in the shower. I don't see why they have to cost so much. I think I might try the cheaper Daisy next time.
Treatments -Sephora - nourishing cuticle oil - pen
jojenja9 1/18/2010 6:23:00 AM
This is amazing. I used the Sephora brush on oil (not the pen) and my cuticles magically disappear. More importantly, the skin around my nails which is usually ragged from dryness and working with my hands a lot started to improve with the first use. It's a must try.
I tried this one twice, and didn't see it as any better than the cheapest grocery store brand. It is a bit watery and does nothing to soothe my very dry hands. I kept hearing that works wonderfully, but I didn't have that response. It's not bad, but olive oil works much, much better.
