Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Cleansing Wipes
jmcoley 9/30/2012 10:20:00 PM
I had previously been using the Neutrogena Night Calming wipes and happened to pick these up by accident. At first I really disliked these wipes because the smell is so powerful! Seriously, these things smell so strong they will make your whole bathroom stink! But ... I love these on my skin and I actually think they've helped to clear up some small acne pimples I used to get on the regular. They do a good job of removing makeup (I follow up with my cleanser and Clarisonic) and they do not make my eyes burn (unless I actually get the juice in my eye which I am careful not to do). Now these are the only makeup wipes I buy. It took a while to get over the strong smell, but I absolutely love these now! I only wish Neutrogena sold these in bulk!

Blush -MAC - Sheertone Blush - Breath of Plum
jmcoley 9/29/2012 12:02:00 PM
I'm so conflicted about this blush - it is a beautiful shade that suits my coloring perfectly, but it just doesn't last at all on my skin. My hair is very dark brown (almost black), and I have dark brown eyes and pale skin (NW20). This color is beautiful, especially in the fall and winter months. It's a dusty plum shade, and although it's a Sheertone, you can definitely build the color. However beautiful, this blush lasts only about 3 hours on my oily cheeks before it completely disappears. If this blush were more long-wearing, I'd probably wear it almost every day in the fall and winter months. But because it doesn't last, I hardly find myself reaching for it. Even though I love the color itself, I probably wouldn't purchase it again simply because it doesn't stay on my skin.

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed Tarte Blush
jmcoley 9/29/2012 11:54:00 AM
This blush is FANTASTIC! Although it doesn't look like much in the pan, it is so beautiful on the skin. It adds such a natural rosy-bronze flush to the cheeks for just the right amount of definition and color. This blush pairs nicely with both dramatic and natural looks. Tarte claims that this product lasts for 12 hours, but on my oily skin it usually lasts about 8 (which is great for me, most blushes only last around 3 hours before fading). This blush stays true to color throughout its wear-time, and does not oxidize. It's a little pricy, but worth it in my opinion. I reach for this blush more often than any other blush in my collection.

Eyeliner -MAC - Powerpoint eye pencil in Engraved
jmcoley 9/29/2012 11:47:00 AM
This is the first MAC eyeliner I ever owned, and was part of my everyday look in my late teens. It's a nice, black pencil eyeliner that is very easy to apply. It also smudges easily for a pretty smoked out look. The only problem with this is that is smears and smudges throughout the day. Although it's easy to use, by the end of the day I usually have black smudges in the corners and under my eyes. Nice, but not long-wearing.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Cork
jmcoley 9/29/2012 11:44:00 AM
This is a very beautiful and versatile color. It is a warm matte brown that is perfect as an everyday crease color. Cork adds just the right amount of definition. I usually use this both in my crease and lower lash line for a nice day-time look.

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner Stingray
jmcoley 12/27/2011 7:36:00 PM
I also got this with Stila Dream in Full Color. It glides on the eyelid beautifully, and also smudges nicely for about a minute after applied. However, I applied it to the water line and it irritated my eyes like crazy. I definitely won't be doing that again. The Stingray color is a beautiful true back with a little sheen, and I love it for lining my upper lids. The downfall of this product is how little you get for the price - 0.01 oz for $20 - a TINY amount! The smudge pots have 0.14 oz for the same price, and MAC Fluidlines are $15 for 0.1 oz. I say I would buy this product again, but that really translates to a "maybe." It is a great product, but because you get so little for a steep price, it is not really a great value.

Blush -NARS - Desire
jmcoley 12/27/2011 7:29:00 PM
No matter how many other blushes I buy, I always end up reaching for Desire. In the winter I have very fair skin, and Desire gives the perfect "just in from the cold" natural flush. It may look intimidating and crazy in the pan, but it is a buildable color and is beautiful when applied appropriately. I use a MAC 187 to apply a light dusting of Desire to the apples of my cheeks, and love the result. It might look a little scary at first, but Desire is truly beautiful and worth the price tag.

Lip Gloss -Urban Decay - Lip Junkie
jmcoley 12/27/2011 7:21:00 PM
Got the color Naked in the Naked 2 palette, and I am without a doubt going to buy the full size. I LOVE this lip gloss! My favorite thing about this gloss is that it is non-sticky and goes on so smooth. Usually I skip lip gloss and just go for the Aquaphor because I can't stand the stickiness of most glosses. Not so with UD Lip Junkie. I also love its freshness and the cooling effect that goes along with that. The color Naked is absolutely beautiful and perfect for everyday wear. A beautiful neutral that gives high shine and long wear without being sticky. Love it!

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
jmcoley 8/19/2011 4:57:00 PM
My HG foundation. Have tried so many foundations, and this one is the best for me. It goes on smooth and lasts ALL DAY, even in this soupy southern humidity. I have combination skin, and this is perfect for me. However, if I do not moisturize properly and get any dry patches, this foundation does accentuate that dryness. I use a Beauty Blender for application, and get a flawless but natural effect. This is pretty expensive, but because you don't have to use very much of it it lasts for a long time. It provides full, matte coverage.

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful
jmcoley 8/19/2011 4:42:00 PM
After hearing so many great things about this blush, I had to go out and try it. And I have to say, it lives up to the hype. The color is beautiful, and it only takes a small amount to get great color. However, if you use too much you will end up looking like a clown. Usually with blush I find that it disappears within a few hours, but this is really long-lasting! Love Blissful, and I plan on buying some other colors like Exposed, Dollface, and Amused. After one use this became my new favorite blush product. It is matte and lasts pretty much all day.

Moisturizers -Origins - NIght-A-Mins Cream
jmcoley 8/19/2011 4:28:00 PM
LOVE this cream! I got samples of both the Night-A-Mins and Starting Over. Starting Over caused my face to break out in tiny bumps all over, but the Night-A-Mins was a dream product for my skin. It is hydrating but not greasy, and makes my skin feel smooth and radiant. I had absolutely no pimples while using Night-A-Mins (I have combination-oily skin). I had to go back and buy this product, it is amazing.

Eyes -BeneFit Cosmetics - She Laq ] [DISCONTINUED]
jmcoley 4/22/2009 5:28:00 PM
I just bought this and I LOVE it! I wear black eyeliner ofter, and after a few hours the eyeliner has smudged and rubbed onto the skin over my eyelid. I apply it over my eyeliner, and it stays put all day! No smudging or smearing at all! It is a little expensive- $30- but it is well worth it! And I only use a tiny bit per time I apply eyeliner, so it seems like it will last (from what everyone else says too). I would definitely buy this again! I love the packaging also- little blue bottle with a fortune teller!

Liquid -Clinique - Superfit Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
jmcoley 12/30/2008 8:45:00 PM
I bought this product because I had been using Bare Minerals foundation for about 2 years and wanted to try something new. I have combination skin, and was looking for a foundation with medium coverage that would last all day without eventually looking super greasy and oily. Some of my friends have used this product and loved it, so on their recommendation I went to Clinique and bought the Superfit foundation. When I first used it, I was trying to make myself like it, but as much as I tried, I couldn't. It didn't last very long, and after a few hours my face ended up very very shiny. I've used it several times since then, all with the same results. I love Clinique, but this makeup just doesn't work for me! It has no lasting power (and I thought it would, with a name like Superfit) and made my face look greasy and shiny. At first I thought that it was maybe because it was a liquid foundation-- but I'm now using Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation and it is 100% better.
