Treatments (Eye) -Origins - Dr Andrew Weil for Origins Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Eye Serum
rated 5 of 5

I received a sample of this from Origins when I re-purchased the Mushroom Face Serum (which I think is excellent). For myself, this eye serum works great and depuffs and smooths my eye area very well. I am really surprised that many people do not like this product. I have extremely sensitive eyes and skin and I found this to be very gentle and non-stinging. No problems with this product at all and it actually cleared up a little bump that was under my eye.

Moisturizers -Clarins - Moisture Quenching Hydra-Balance Cream
rated 5 of 5

I have been searching forever for a good moisturizer that dries Matte, doesn't clog my pores or cause break-outs and most importantly moisurizes my skin. This product does it all. My skin looks amazing since I started using this. I bought this on a whim when I was on vacation - they were selling it on the plane (duty-free) and my skin was a mess due to months of plane travel. I have not touched any other moisturizer since I started using this product. I can't understand why this cream did not get higher ratings because I have combo-sensitive-oily-dry-IMPOSSIBLE skin and this makes my skin look great. Try it.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - End-Zit -- Acne Control Drying Lotion
rated 5 of 5
jmargolin4 10/9/2006

I've been using this pimple lotion for 30 years. it's the best. Years ago it used to be called BX Drying lotion. It's a topical that I find works better than any other over the counter products like Acnomel or Clearasil and also better than Retin-A. I highly recommend this lotion. The one negative is that it comes in a glass bottle where I prefer plastic. I am sure this is a very strong product of alcohol, sulfer and other drying ingredients, but when I have a pimple, I want quick results to get rid of it. I purchase it online.

Concealers -Revlon - Vital Radiance HydraSmooth Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5

I really like this concealer. The tube comes with two colors and I bought the medium shade. The first side is a pink hydrating cream and the opposite side is a light-weight concealer. I have been using the pink side under and around my eye area and I find that the color makes me look awake and the product is very light and does not accentuate my under-eye lines. I highly recommend this product. Also, many products irritate my eye area, but no problem w/this product.

Treatments (Eye) -DHC - Concentrated Eye Cream

Received a sample of this. Put it on once and in seconds it gave me me sores around the corners of my eye area. If you have sensitivities as I often do, don't purchase this eye cream.

Bronzers -NARS - Laguna
rated 5 of 5
jmargolin4 2/7/2006 10:55:00 PM

I own close to 20 different bronzers (yes I'm insane), but this is still the bronzer that I reach for the majority of the time. It's a fantastic bronzer, not much else to add about Laguna that hasn't been expressed already. I use Jane Blushing Wine on my cheeks and sometimes brush Milani Luminous or Orgasm under Laguna if I need a bit of sparkle and it's perfect for my medium colored skin. Very natural color and texture.

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Sensitive Facial Skin Q10 Active Night Anti-Wrinkle Cream
rated 3 of 5

I am getting smarter with trying any new products after a few too many disasters. I tested this on my hand and arm and it burned and gave me an itchy red rash. There's something in this cream that my skin really hates. On the positive side, I really liked the whipped feel of this cream and loved the smell. EDIT: My face was so dry that I risked putting this on my face and it feels wonderful w/out any side effects so far. I am changing my rating to a strong 4. Will update if it causes any skin problems.EDIT AGAIN: Skin Broke out from this - Not a good product for me. Too bad. It's VERY rich.

Bronzers -Sugar Cosmetics - Tropic Tan [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
jmargolin4 2/5/2006 4:33:00 AM

I purchased this bronzer sight unseen because someone recommended it to me when I told her that Laguna sometimes looked a little dull on my skin. Sugar bronzer is beautiful and I've been using it daily since I purchased it. It's very finely milled, gentle on my skin and easy to blend. When I saw it in the pan I thought that it would be too orange (like MAC is on me), but somehow it sinks perfectly into my medium colored (Sand BB) skin and gives a glowy, natural look. IMHO, I don't think this is a good bronzer for all skin tones, so test first. I could definitely see it not flattering most Asian skin tones because it would just show too orange.

Crème -Chanel - Double Perfection Creme Poudre (Creme Powder Makeup)
rated 3 of 5
jmargolin4 2/1/2006 2:15:00 AM

When I first applied this product, it gave me flawless skin, medium beige skin. I was very happy. After an hour of wearing this, I looked in the mirror and it was really frightening. The foundation had turned very orange on me and had settled into all of my pores. If I could have found the right color, I would have loved this thick, silky foundation, but for special events only. It's really a full coverage foundation IMO.

Blush -NARS - Sin
rated 2 of 5
jmargolin4 1/29/2006 1:16:00 AM

I feel bad dissing a NARS product, especially such a popular item but This is the most unforgiving blush I've ever used. I just purchased it a couple of days ago. I find that it is too bright, too shimmery and it's irritating my skin. Even worse, it goes on very blotchy and doesn't blend in well. I much prefer JANE Blushing Wine and Milani Temptation which are much more subtle colors on my skin and don't look blotchy. I was really looking forward to owning this blush because it looks beautiful in the pan, but it just doesn't do a thing for me.

Blush -Jane - Blushing Earth Sheer
rated 3 of 5
jmargolin4 1/29/2006 1:02:00 AM

Sorry to ruin the stellar rating on this, but this color blush doesn't do a thing for my medium yellow based complexion. I prefer Jane's more matte Blushes. I also found this blush had too much shimmer for me and not enough color. This color must look beautiful on fair skin ladies with small pores, but not so much on me.

Blush -Jane - Blushing Glow Blush
rated 3 of 5
jmargolin4 1/29/2006 12:54:00 AM

I wasn't crazy about this color. I really love most JANE Blushes but I found this to be a very dull color on me with too much shimmer. It also made my pores look huge. Not a favorite for my medium (yellow based) skin.

Blush -Jane - Blushing Wine
rated 5 of 5
jmargolin4 1/29/2006 12:47:00 AM

For $3.00, I wish that I could give this blush a 10 rating. My HG. I can't say enough great things about this color and JANE Blush. Worn over NARS Laguna, Wet & Wild Med/Dark Bronzer or Origins Bronzer, it gives the sexiest, most beautiful flush to my cheeks. I can't use it on my medium/Fair skin alone because it's a little too bright and quite pigmented. I find that JANE blushes are better than NARS for me. When comparing this to NARS Sin, I prefer the Blushing Wine because it never looks blotchy or artificial but gives that same sexy flush. It also never settles into my pores. You have to try this beautiful color. Can you tell that I love this stuff??

Blush -Jane - Blushing Petal [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
jmargolin4 1/29/2006 12:31:00 AM

I love Jane blushes. They go on smoothly and never streak or look blotchy as so many other blushes do on me. They also don't clog up my pores at all. This peachy, pink color is beautiful when I am not wearing a bronzer. It gives a very natural blush and can be layered for additional intensity. This is my second favorite blush. Wine is my favorite color for my medium (often artificially bronzed) skin.

Treatments (Eye) -Philosophy - Hope in a Tube - High Density Eye and Lip Firming Cream
rated 4 of 5
jmargolin4 1/20/2006 2:33:00 AM

I am surprised at all of the negative comments for this eye cream. I really think that this cream has smoothed out a lot of the fine lines under my eyes. I think this is the best undereye moisturizer that I've ever used and I've tried many of them....Dr. Brandt, Shiseido, Kiehls. This is the only one that's helped with the fine lines under my eyes and has caused no adverse reactions.
