Eye Shadow -Clinique - Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for eyes

This review concerns the Portly Plum Chubby Stick. I tried several shades out at the store and this seemed to be a nice darkish plum that would go well with my hazel/brownish eyes. The salesgirl thought it would be best for me since it does not have much shine too it. It looked great in the store, but at home, when I actually put it on my lids, it made me look like I'd been crying for days! It has far too much red in it for my cool skin tone. That's the problem with swatching something on one's hand and then actually applying it where it's meant to go. Another expensive mistake, although I have to say that it does go on really well and stays all day. But I won't be using this. I could return it to the store, but that's a 40-mile roundtrip! Not worth it to me.

I haven't been using this eyeliner on a routine basis, but did again today and wanted to add my comments to all the others from people who love this product. Not only does it go on easily, stays on all day and is just a great and unusual color for somebody with light brown/hazel eyes. The only similar one I have ever used is Clinique's Egyptian, which I also like a lot. I gave it only a 4 for packaging quality because it is soooo looong that it almost doesn't fit into the slot in my makeup drawer where all the other eyeliners live. But that will make it last even longer, so it's not really a drawback. This is worth ever penny it costs, a wonderful product!
I've been using Stila Cassis eye shadow on and off, and today I decided to put it away for good. Not only does it go on splotchy, but the fall-out is unbelievable, all the way down my cheeks. It's a pretty color and if it worked, it would do well on my brownish/hazel eyes, but the fallout is the biggest turnoff. I'm keeping the Kitten which I bought at the same time to use under my brows.
Liquid -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind The Lifter

I have only tried this a couple of times, so I'm still not 100% sure what to think of it. First, it sits very heavily on my "older" skin (I can actually feel it) and the super-matte finish makes it look flat. Not anti-aging at all. I have to admit that it covers up like a good concealer and the color does adjust fairly well to my skin tone after a while. So I reserve judgment for now, but the first impression is not great.
I ordered this product in the "Fling" color from Macy's on-line and when it arrived I thought, "this will be much too light". But I was quite wrong. It's the perfect color for my brows which are beginning to get a little grey in them. I really liked the very thin tip, which made it very easy to apply and the color seems to last all day. It's a winner!
After recently buying a tinted brow gel with a huge brush that made it too hard to apply cleanly, I bought this product today at Ulta in Taupe. Of course I don't know yet how long it stays on, but I already like it a lot. The color is excellent, I love the slanted tip which makes it easy to make my skinny brows look thicker, and the very small spoolie at the gel end of the product is excellent. It makes it easier to get my unruly brow hairs to lie down than anything I've bought in the past! So far so good. This product is expensive (I bought it with a 20% off coupon) but I really like what it does. I'd recommend it to anyone who has struggled with and spent money on many other brow products.

I'd been eyeing this brush for some time and finally bought it yesterday at Target as a Christmas present to myself. I used it for the first time this morning after showering and the result was awesome right away, even though my hair was more than 50% wet when I started because I never read the directions. My hair is chin length, very thick, highlighted and I can't believe how healthy and glossy it looks. As if I'd had it done at the salon. Another positive is that it took me less than 10 minutes to dry my whole head, an all-time record. Yes, the brush is bigger than I would have preferred, 2" is big for chin length layered hair, but this is a keeper! Especially for someone who was never able to do the hand-held blow-dryer and round brush thing.
Brows -Tarte - Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse & Brow Brush

This was an impulse purchase that wound up not working for me at all and I have returned it to Ulta where I had bought it. The taupe color, (which is the lightest of the three) was too dark on my very fair skin. It also gave my brows a reddish cast, not what this blonde had in mind! It went on o.k. but a little too thick, even when applied with a very light hand. Overall it was a mistake.
Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Eye Colour in Deep Night

I ordered this without actually seeing it and when it arrived I thought "Wow, that's very dark". But I love it already. It doesn't scream "blue eye shadow", it's nice and neutral and cool. It does nice things for my "older" brown eyes. One has to put it on with a light touch and a good eye shadow brush, otherwise it might get too dark. It really seems to stay on all day without creasing or fading as well. Another plus. It's expensive, yes, but large enough to last for a very long time.

Just got this today as a Level 4 gift. In retrospect I should have followed my first inclination and picked something else entirely. But having said that, I will get some use out of this product. I got it in Light, after testing the light/medium and finding it much too orange/brownish. It's still a little too yellow on my pinkish skin, but I do like the glowy finish which doesn't turn greasy on me. It seems to even out my complexion to some degree, so it's useable. But overall I'm a little disappointed.
I may have reviewed this product already a week ago after I bought it, but can't remember. Anyway, it bears repeating, this is the best foundation I've ever found. The color, F-30, matches my pink undertones perfectly, which is a near miracle. I've tried many very expensive foundations, tinted moisturizers, etc. and they invariably made me look like I had a yellow face on a pink neck. This one is perfection! I love the natural-looking coverage. It's not too shiny. It goes on very easily and stays on all day. Yes, it's expensive, but worth every penny, because a little goes a long way and the packaging is absolute genius! I love the idea of not wasting a drop.
BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium

Very disappointing I thought this product would be a good BB to try on my "older" quite dry skin.I have several Garnier products that I like. But this one goes back! It's greasy looking, the color (Light/Medium) is far too yellow for my pink-toned skin. It might work for someone with very warm-toned skin. But on me it just sits there and emphasizes every wrinkle and line. Not expensive, but not worth what I did pay.
Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Brow Pen - Long Wearing Brow Tint

The tails of my brows vanished years ago due to hypothyroidism and I've bought many products to try and get a natural-looking brow back. This product is the best I've ever found! I bought the universal light a week ago, have used it every day and it's perfect for me. No reddish tone at all, it turns a light taupe on my skin. It stays on all day and looks completely natural. I'm surprised that there are some bad and so-so reviews. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat!
Self Tanners -Clinique - Self Sun Body Tinted Lotion Light - Medium
jmara 3/22/2012 12:10:00 PM
On my "older" skin this product is the worst! It turns the age spots on my arms a very unnatural bright orange. It streaks. It smells awful, to the extent that even my husband commented on it. I managed to scrub some of it off with a strong exfoliator and won't go near it again. Don't waste your money on this! There has got to be better out there.

I should know better by now than believing anything can prod my sparse brows to grow. I found this product at Ulta a couple of months ago at half price (still expensive) and have been appling it twice a day, every day. Maybe it made my existing brow hairs a little darker, but the "tails" of my brows are as non-existent as ever and have to be pencilled in. This product just didn't work for me!
