Other -Unlisted Brand - Phisohex Antibacterial Skin Wash

Amazing product! When my skin broke out mid 2011 I initially tried the Acne.org regimen, various drugstore acne treatments, oral antibiotics, even the pill. But nothing seemed to work on my acne, in fact it made it worse. After around 4 months my doctor asked me to book an appointment with the dermatologist so I could get roacutane. I have to wait another 3 months before I could get into an appointment, so in the mean time I stopped all of my other treatments both topical and oral, and just used the Phisohex Antibacterial Skin Wash with a regular Dermaveen moisturiser with SPF15+. After just 1 month my pimples were completely gone! The scarring was still there, but I can say that now, 4 months later (and a cancelled dermatologist appointment later), I have clear, smooth skin and have had literally only 2 pimples since it has cleared up. This is defiantly worth a try, and at around $10.00 a bottle (in Australia for 200mL) this is not a product that will break the bank! As on now, I have just finished my third glycolic treatment out of six for the scarring and remnants from my acne is almost non-existent. No dermatologist, no medication, no peeling/pain! Phisohex is amazing!

Lip Treatments -Carmex - LipBalm
jl4068 5/27/2011 4:51:00 AM
Best product for chapped dry lips. My lips are constantly dry, especially in the winter months. Like many others, I have tried numerous lip balm's (Chapstick, Soft lips, Nivea, Rituelle, Blistex, Vaseline, paw-paw ointment.. the list goes on) to no avail! My sister has been using Carmex for years so when I ran out I borrowed one of her pots that was lying around. First sensation was a little like the soft lips range - tingly and cool. Quite pleasant actually. But I was surprised to find that after a few applications my lips were beginning to become less chapped and more hydrated! Now I only need to apply this every few hours (3-4) and it works a treat. The only downside is the pot is a little unhygienic and the smell/taste is quite strong. BUT for such a great product, who really cares!

Moisturizers -The Body Shop - Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion

Good product, smell is quite strong but not unpleasant, 1 pump will cover your whole face, and I have found it to help reduce the acne scarring on my cheeks. The only downfall is that this product is not moisturising enough, especially in Winter! I found that I had to put one layer of this and then follow it up with a thicker moisturiser like Ego Skin Cream to make sure that my skin didn't flake. Overall, good results and will definitely be using this during Summer.

Treatments (Eye) -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Eye Cream
jl4068 9/8/2010 5:34:00 AM
Like many of the other reviewers have said, this is a good moisturising cream and glides on smoothly. However, like many other eye creams, it did little to reduce my puffy eyes and dark circles. For this product I'm remaining neutral, not something I would re-purchase, but I will be using it up till the end.

Fragrances -Versace - BRIGHT CRYSTAL

I love this perfume, soft and sweet, not over powering or musky. Even though I think the bottle is a little over the top and maybe even on the verge of being tacky, it smells great and the scent lasts. Would definitely buy again!

Tinted Moisturizer -LUSH - Colour Supplement
jl4068 9/8/2010 5:09:00 AM
Great product! Colour matched well, not overly priced, conceals and stays put all day long. I am yet to lest this out in hot and humid climates but for an everyday foundation/concealer/tinted moisturiser its perfect. I usually use a light powder (Body Shop- Nature's minerals foundation) but would be fine on its own or mixed in with your everyday moisturiser. The only thing that's a bit of an issue is the pot, probably not the best for super hygienic people, but i'm not too fussed.

Foundations -The Body Shop - Nature's Minerals Foundation
jl4068 9/8/2010 5:00:00 AM
I use this over the top of my LUSH colour supplement and find it works well. On its own, the coverage is quite light, but that is to be expected from a mineral foundation. I'm not to keen on the loose powder, but am yet to find a compact version without the excessive preservatives (if there is one). This is a good to even out skin tone and doesn't clog pores. It does not, however, cover acne scars or blemishes too well (unless you plan on buffering and layering heaps - this will make it look cakey though and will use up a ton of product).

Liquid -Clinique - Superbalanced Foundation
jl4068 9/8/2010 4:53:00 AM
This product overall produced a nice finish. I found that colour matching to be exceptional. I have an oily T-zone (especially in Summer) so for me it gave me a dewy and almost shiny look after 2 hours or so.. The coverage is good, but if you plan on being outdoors and in the sun this is probably not the best option. I found that it melted away extremely fast and left my skin slightly patchy. Another downer for me was that after using it consistently (everyday) for around a week, I found my skin was starting to break out. However, for an everyday foundation and people with not so sensitive skin this is good (I found it to be a bit heavy but that probably because I'm used to using just a powder).

Cleansers -The Body Shop - Camomile Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover
jl4068 9/8/2010 4:43:00 AM
Bought 2 tubes of this online and was disappointed when I had to apply it on 3 cotton balls to remove my mascara (which isn't even waterproof!) I then went on to wash my face and still had remnants around my eye area. However, it is light and I did not find this product irritating to my skin.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Galderma - Benzac AC 2.5 (benzoyl peroxide water-based gel 2.5%)
jl4068 9/8/2010 4:39:00 AM
This product wasn't outstanding for me, it did help with clearing up a few pimples here and there, but the process was very slow so I'm not to sure if it was due to the Benzac or it went away naturally. I found it to be slightly drying which meant that I had to put a heavier moisturiser on in the morning to compensate for it. If you have sensitive skin I would not recommend this product, especially in winter (just because winter is naturally dryer and this may make it worse). Overall, this product was worth a try, and I will use it on the occasional spot, but wouldn't keep it as a staple.

Mascara -Too Faced - Lash Injection PinPoint
jl4068 9/8/2010 4:31:00 AM
This product was a disappointment. I have been looking for a non-smudging mascara and was convinced by the SA to spend $40.00 AUD on it. The formula is dry, it clumps and for such a high price, the packaging was less than impressive. The only positive things I can say is that it doesn't smudge as much as my previous mascara- Maybelline Define-A-Lash (but I'm not too sure how it will hold up in the heat/humidity), and the small tip makes it a little easier to get into the corners with.

Cleansers -LUSH - coal face soap
jl4068 9/8/2010 1:14:00 AM
This is a great product for oily skin, I've used it for around 2 weeks now and have found it super effective in reducing my blemishes and spots. Seeing as my face is only oily in the T-zone (and a little dry at times on my cheeks), I found the best combination to combat this was to apply LUSH's Celestial moisturiser at night after washing and then their Vanishing cream (dryer months- Winter/Autumn) or Enzymion (in the warmer months - Summer/Spring) in the morning. The only downfall is its packaging and the fact that it does not come with some kind or container but I will definitely be purchasing this product again!

Treatments (Eye) -BeneFit Cosmetics - DePuffing Action Eye Gel
jl4068 9/8/2010 1:02:00 AM
This product did little to reduce my puffy eye and bags. The only positive thing I found was that it did have a pleasant cooling sensation. I tried this for around 3 weeks hoping that after a few uses it would have a positive effect, however, by about the second week I fond that my under-eye skin became dry and sensitive, if anything my puffy eyes were worse. Will not be purchasing this product again.
