Lips -Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain (All Shades)
jjacm8 4/29/2012 8:13:00 AM
I am a HUGE YSL fan. I had high hopes for this product. It sits on top of your lips and makes them tight in a weird way. That I can deal with...but the smell? It's atrocious and nauseating!!! Others say it has the signature YSL lip product smell, which it does not. It smells like wine gone sour. True the colors are nice and the finish looks good. But for this price, no way! I got sick from wearing one and took it back. YSL, which never lets me down, failed to deliver the complete package with this product. Don't know how it ever passed the quality check. The packaging is tacky as well. If you want a pretty stain, buy a rouge volupte perle in a bright color and skip this mess of a product.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Almondine Lipglass

Ok. Total opposite of the review. I really urge you guys to check this product out! I tried it on out of curiosity, literally thinking, I feel like I am from outer space with this stuff on! however, once I spread it with my finger, the wand gives you a little too much, and let it settle on my lips I loved it! In natural light, it envelopes lips in this pearly wash of buttery white gold. I have also found it works wonderfully over lipsticks such as the Glam Gaga and Glam Cyndi. Over Gaga it really brings out the pink in the lipstick, and a luscious shine. Over Cyndi it tones it down a little, giving it a medium coral, golden hue. Take it from someone who is not a MAC addict, and definitely did not plan on buying this product, you have to check it out for yourself!

Eyeliner -Chanel - Demoniac 37

Horrible. I cannot believe I am giving a Chanel product a zero rating, as I am an avid fan. But this eyeliner requires pressing down a lot to get the color out, then it comes off in chunks and not smoothly, finally it is nonexistant. What a rip off, they should be giving this thing away for free. The rest of the collection is ok, but I would stay away from this one.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Quatuor Boutons De Chanel Les Folies Noires
jjacm8 10/14/2009 3:25:00 PM
This quad was such a pleasant surprise after perusing all the negative reviews on various blogs. None of the shadows is black, so it cannot be compared to Chanel's Smoky Eyes quad (love love love that one). This quad is really inventive and an elegant twist to the black smokey eye. I find all the colors very easy to blend. You can do a light wash of color for a subdued smoky eye if you just put the eyeshadow over some foundation. But if you want dramatic, then I would use MAC Painterly, which really shows the nuances of all the colors. Overall, A+, because this is a quad that I can find multiple uses for, and will not end up in the botttom of my LE pile.

Polishes -Chanel - Diabolic 427
jjacm8 10/12/2009 11:15:00 PM
Well. I love this colour in the bottle. I was hesitant to purchase at first because I thought it would be like Rouge Noir, which is my absolute favorite vampy polish. Diabolic is really a deep black with hints of dark red in it, the color of blood. I am disappointed because this polish on looks much different than it does in the bottle. I was hopeful that this would be a dark color that one could wear in a conservative office setting, but it is not. Nonetheless it is gorgeous, sort of unique, and if you collect Chanel polish, like me you will still think it is a good purchase. If you want a more wearable but lighter color, go for RN.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Brumes Duo
jjacm8 7/25/2009 11:22:00 PM
So..I am extremely addicted to all smokey eye duos, trios, quads, you name it. So when I purchased this I thought it would just be another smokey eye shadow that looks like all the rest that I own. But, if you are a NARS addict you know that NARS almost never disappoints (..what is up with the smell of that lip lacquer? And I love their lipsticks, but some sheer ones could use a little more staying power!). This duo blends beautifully! Both colors can be sheered out or built up for ultra smoked out eyes. I love pairing it with the pink side of Alhambra and using the gold side of Alhambra as a highlighter on the brown bone. This duo is even work appropriate!! And I love products that can wear two hats. Highly recommended, and actually does not look bad with Indian Summer, one of the other duos from the Fall 2009 collection.

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Soft Touch Eyeshadow - Safari
jjacm8 6/21/2009 12:22:00 AM
Love, love, love this product!! I had been searching for this shade for so long. A smokey, slightly shimmery, buttery smooth taupe with a hint of purple. Very wearable with all lip and cheek colors. For a 1920s look I like to pair it with bare cheeks and red lips. True, the product is small for the insanely high price. But, hey that is Chanel.

Eye Shadow -Christian Dior - 5 Colour Eyeshadow - Earth Reflection 609
jjacm8 6/21/2009 12:14:00 AM
This product is surprisingly very versatile. I bought on a whim after seeing in a magazine. I love how the shadows can be built for a dramatic, shimmery look or lightly applied for a sheer wash of color. The applicators are actually really good, considering I always pitch those. Really buttery smooth shadow that feels really soothing on my lids. I would not repurchase b/c you get a lot of product, plus there are too many things I would like to try!

Mascara -Chanel - Inimitable Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel
jjacm8 6/21/2009 12:11:00 AM
I have purchased this baby twice. I admit first I did not like it. However, as I love anything Chanel, I decided to give it a real shot. You have to practice a steady hand, but the brush is so fabulous! It really pulls out lashes long resulting in amazing length and volume. If your lashes have a natural curl, it will accentuate, but I would not say it is a curling mascara. Definitely worth the money.

Mascara -Chanel - Mascara Exceptionnel
jjacm8 6/21/2009 12:08:00 AM
I love this mascara. After messing with Dior Blackout, Diorshow, amongst others. A friend gave this to me as a gift and I have repurchased three times since. The brush takes a bit of getting used to, but this product curls, lengthens and thickens amazingly- all in one! I love dramatic eyes, and the extra smoky noir color is great for ladies with dark hair. I rated overall at a 4, because I am torn between this and Chanel initimable. They both give amazing, but different results.
