Eyeliner -Clinique - Brush-on Cream Liner in Deep Brown
jinnzor 11/13/2008 2:26:00 PM
Fantastic eyeliner. Color, application, and staying power are all amazing. I apply it with a Paula's Choice eyeliner brush, and I get a perfect line that lasts all day. The color is great too, a dark brown that doesn't look too harsh. Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Liquid -Clinique - Superfit Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
jinnzor 7/24/2008 8:09:00 AM
I wouldn't call this HG, but it's the foundation I always find myself coming back to. I have worn it for years, and it has never broken me out. I use "17 Cream" in winter and "05 Neutral" og "07 Honey" when I have a tan. I haven't had any problems with the foundation changing color even though I have oily skin. My skin can get quite oily, and I don't think this foundation helps controlling it. It is quite easy to apply (I use my fingers) and it gives a natural finish and medium coverage. I set it with powder, and I usually have to blot a couple of times a day to avoid shine. It doesn't quite last the whole day, but it doesn't look cakey either. For days where I need more coverage, I use EL Double Wear, but I find the finish on that less natural. I'll keep rebuying this unless I find my HG foundation. Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Highlighters -Bobbi Brown - Shimmer Brick Shimmerbrick Compact in Bronze
jinnzor 7/24/2008 6:49:00 AM
I love my bronze shimmer brick. I use it as a cheekbone hightlighter and it just gives me the perfect glow. I can't imagine using it as a all over powder or bronzer. It seems far to shimmery for that, but for the cheek it is perfect. Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Gentle
jinnzor 7/24/2008 5:16:00 AM
Gentle is a very pretty mineralized blush. The color is a cool plum with a very slight hint of purple. It looks quite glittery in the compact, but gives a nice sheen when applied. It's extremely pigmented. First time I applied, I looked like a clown. I'd recommend using a skunk brush (like the MAC 187) to apply. There are two reasons this does not get 5 lippies: 1. Staying power is quite poor. On me, it's gone by midday. 2. There are only 3.5g of blush in the compact compared to the usual 6g yet the price is higher. Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Gloss -all
jinnzor 7/24/2008 5:03:00 AM
I have a couple of these glosses, and they're quite good. There are a lot to choose from, but the difference in color is very subtle (read: I can't tell them apart when they are on my lips) Pigmentation is sheer, but they give a nice glossy look. They are quite sticky, but also long wearing (3-4 hours). I'm taking one lippie off because the scent can be overwhelming. Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Makeup Brushes -Smashbox - Cream Eye Liner #9
jinnzor 3/9/2008 1:11:00 PM
I don't like this brush very much. The bristles are very stiff, and it's a little too big to make the kind of subtle lines I prefer. It has to be cleaned after every use. I much prefer the Smashbox #28 that I got from a brush set. Smaller and easier to use. Edit: I'm giving this brush one more lippie. After I've gotten used to it more it's not so bad. I currently use only one "corner" of the brush and gently drag it along my lash line. It works ok but it's still not ideal.

Makeup Brushes -Sephora - Sephora Kabuki Brush
jinnzor 3/9/2008 1:08:00 PM
Not the best kabuki out there, but not the worst either. The size is just right and it's easy to use. Mine hasn't shed at all, but the bristles are not as soft as I'd like. I used mine for mineral foundation for a while, but the stiffness of the bristles makes buffing the foundation in a little uncomfortable. I have since replaced it and wouldn't rebuy.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending
jinnzor 3/9/2008 1:05:00 PM
One of my favorite brushes. I use this for both crease and blending. It distributes color extremely well and it has exactly the right softness (I find the 224 a bit too soft). I've had mine for about a year. I've washed it every week and it still looks like new. A great investment!

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
jinnzor 3/9/2008 12:58:00 PM
I got a smaller size of this mascara with a Clinique gift set. I usually use Clinique High Definition Lashes which I love. I don't love this quite as much. It gives decent volume, but doesn't lengthen as well as High Definition. It doesn't smudge and it hasn't irritated my eyes (I wear contact lenses), but it does have a tendency to clumb a bit. I don't like the brush. It's too big and it makes it difficult to apply mascara to all my lashes. Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Pressed Powders -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Powder
jinnzor 3/9/2008 12:50:00 PM
I use this as a finishing powder over my foundation, and it has worked great for me. I'm pretty pale and I haven't experienced any oxidation or color change with the color I use (C1 - Rose Ivory). It doesn't control oil super well, but it does stay matte for a while on my oily skin. As others reviews mention the compact is dumb. It's just not practical to use the mirror. I apply the powder with a powder brush in the morning and touch up during the day with the sponge. You have to be a little careful when using the sponge to avoid a cakey look. If you are oily I have found that blotting first helps a lot. Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Blush -Laura Geller - Ethereal Rose Powder
jinnzor 3/9/2008 12:43:00 PM
Ethereal Rose is a pale pink color with a bit of sparkle. I think I have an older compact because it's pretty bulky (and sort of ugly). I rarely use this by itself as a blush even though I'm pretty fair and it is possible to get it to show up. In winter (when I'm pale) I use it over my blush, and in summer (when I have a bit of a tan) I apply it over my blush and my nose/cheek/forehead. Staying power is pretty decent. I have oily skin, so it doesn't last all day on me, but very few powder products do. It does a good job of making my face seem more fresh and radiant. I plan on rebuying if I ever run out. Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Sassed-Up
jinnzor 2/29/2008 1:04:00 PM
This is not a blush and not an all-over highlighter. If that is what you're looking for, don't buy this; you'll only be disappointed. If you like a bit of glitter and a very faint pink colour to highlight then this is great. It's glittery and I would never apply it all over my face, but using a little to highlight the cheekbones looks quite elegant. If I buff in well and don't use too much I can even wear it to work! The compact is lovely and (as mentioned) not a sticker like most of the other Fafi products. Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Eyeliner -Smashbox - Smashing Cream Eyeliner
jinnzor 2/23/2008 4:01:00 PM
I'm not sure why people are having so much trouble with getting this eyeliner to stay. It has great staying power when I wear it, but still rinses off nicely with makeup remover. It's pretty easy to apply, and I love the colours. I set it with a bit of powder after applying it, and I have not have trouble with it smudging. Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Mascara -Clinique - high definition lashes
jinnzor 2/23/2008 3:58:00 PM
My HG mascara (I use the brown/black color). My lashes are already fairly long and thick, and this mascara makes them look beautiful. It never flakes and very rarely clumps. I like the brush/comb design, and I doubt I'll ever buy a different mascara! Me: Moderately fair skin (MAC NC 20-25), blue eyes, light brown hair.

Styling Products -LUSH - King of the Mods
jinnzor 2/23/2008 3:53:00 PM
I love the smell of this product. Smells just like grapefruit to me, very fresh. You only have to use a tiny bit to get natural looking, long lasting hold. I dislike the packaging. It's very messy.
