Eye Shadow -MAC - Mineralize Play on Plums
rated 4 of 5
jin1022000 1/15/2009 3:42:00 AM

Hm~ Great quality. Nice colors (however! It just doesn't suit me...) I think I'm cursed by coppery colored e/s! I can't wear anything that has a tint of warm tone in it... ****UPDATE**** 04/24/09 I have to update my review on this duo. Because... IT'S BEAUTIFUL ONCE YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT. Like I said before, it has a tint of warm tone in it. It's a coppery color. My eyes look tired once I applied this e/s. I combined Play On Plums with my best friend ---- SHISEIDO HYDRO-POWDER E/S (# Gold light). I used Gold Light as a base, then applied Play on Plums on top (the darker side). With Gold Light as a base, Play on Plums isn't that warm anymore. Gold Light also adds some shimmer to it. It looked gorgeous!!!!!!

Eyeliner -MAC - black russian
rated 5 of 5
jin1022000 1/15/2009 3:35:00 AM

Color: Black w/ silver sparkles Price: FREE!!! (MAC I LOVE YOU, YOU SHIPPED MY PACKAGE W/ A FREEBIE INSIDE)! Staying Power: Eh... it's a pencil! It still creases a lil bit~ much better than the drug stores eyeliners I guess. I've always been a HUGE fan of BLACKTRACK fluidline. However! I do sometimes think blacktrack is too dull (too dark!). Black russian is a GORGEOUS color! Very fun~ I didn't know it was LE! *sigh*

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mink & Sable - Starflash Collection
rated 5 of 5
jin1022000 1/15/2009 3:24:00 AM

First off, I don't own Sumptuous Olive, so I can't compare it w/ Mink & Sable. But I do own GREENSMOKE (it was my HG MAC e/s), but the texture turns me off! It takes a couple of layers for the color to show up. Now I have Mink & Sable, I don't have to waste my time w/ greensmoke in the morning anymore = =" MAC: Please make more colors of STARFLASH finish.

I own 60 MAC eyeshadows, and only 5 of them are neutral colors = =" I'm not much of a brown / gold / woodie colors gal. I luv bright colors~ However! Go is def. a GORGEOUS color! Great to make brown smokey eyes. I paird Go w/ Cool Heat and Warm Chill the other day (I know, weird combo), it turned out very pretty!! Loved it!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Starflash - Lotusland
rated 5 of 5
jin1022000 8/6/2008 9:54:00 PM

PRICE: $14.50 (same price ~) TEXUTRE: Similar texture to Veluxe Pearl, but when I first saw them at the counter, they really looked like Frost. Very smooth texture! Easy to apply and doesn't really smudge. COLOR: Lotusland is a very pretty lavender color w/ subtle shimmer (not overly pigmented!) I compared this shade to other MAC e/sz... Creme de Violet VS Lotusland - similar, but not really. Creme de Violet is more pink~ just imaging Lotusland is more lavender~~~~~~ Crystal VS Lotusland - Lotusland is darker and has more color payoff, crystal is more muted. Idol eyes VS Lotusland - they're very similar!!! But I love Lotusland more~ Idol eyes is too silvery ~

Blush -MAC - Sheertone in Pinch O'Peach
rated 5 of 5
jin1022000 7/23/2008 2:46:00 AM

MY HG BLUSH SINCE 2004!!!! This was my FIRST blush, I bought this because I was having my first make-over at MAC. And the MA (she was beautiful ... *drool*) picked this for me, she said the sorta MATTE finish should suit me well. I LOVED this color!!!! Even after all these years, I now own 58 blushes!!! (NARS and MAC and Jill Stuart). Pinch O' Peach is still my favourite!!! (NARS deep throat or orgasm can't be compared to this one IMO). Pinch O' Peach, I'll love you 'till the day ... I FIND YOUR EVIL TWIN!!!! ^^

I was trying to decide between this one and gentle, but the MAC MA recommended this one more~ he said this color would look beautiful on fair skin girls!!!!!! (ALL NC10~NC20 galz listen up: THIS IS A MUST HAVE!!!) this blush made me look like a princess =.=" NARS angelika, I feel like cheating on you w/ pleasantry...............................

Eye Shadow -Shiseido - Hydro Powder Eyeshadow in Violet Visions H1
rated 5 of 5
jin1022000 7/13/2008 2:51:00 PM

Not my favourite shade of purple! (MAC violet Pigment is my HG ^^) This color does look very subtle and gorgoues on gals w/ brown or green eyes. However, I like the other hydro powder colors more (goldlight & whitelight). *** UPDATE *** (07/24/08) Okay, I've been using this color a few times during the past two weeks. Lots of people said my eye makeup looked amazing, guess this is a beautiful purple shade after all~~ I tried to use the color as a lid color, a big NG Don't!!!! this is a great color to on the outter lid / crease, but if you use it to cover the until lid, you'll look like that you have a mean boyfriend that beats you up all the time =.=" I paird violet visions (outter lid) with goldlights (inner lid, also a base color) and MAC femme-fi (highlight), MAC interview-x (purple shade on lower-lashline). then use black eyeliner~

Eye Shadow -MAC - Electro Flash - Odd Couple
rated 4 of 5
jin1022000 7/10/2008 11:09:00 PM

My 4th review of the Electro Flash collection ^^~ PRICE: $17.50, and you can get 3 colors! Reasonable price~ TEXTURE: Very smooth! That's why I love mineralize e/sz~~~ COLOR: 1) The MAC website decribed it as "Warm gold with lavender and bronze veining/purple mono" (hm... they got the first part right, but the mono side's description is too simple, the color PURPLE differs from person to person...) 2) I think, the MONO side color is purple, but it's a COOL PURPLE, which means it has some what of blue in it, it's a bluish purple. Now, some people might wonder if Mi'Lady (the purple side) looks any smiliar to this shade, my answer would be.... NOOOOO!!!! They are very different! Mi'Lady's purple shade is a bit warm, has alot of lavender in it. I'd say this shade is more similar to CLIMATE BLUE (cool heat collection). Except that Climate blue has more blue in it, it's in the middle of purple and bright blue. I like Odd Couple's purple shade! Very Pretty. If you love purple e/sz, you might wanna give this a try! 3) The mixed side, imagine, if you mix lavender w/ copper-brown, what'll you get?! A COLOR THAT LOOKS LIKE A BRUISE! However~ for this time, I actually liked this COMBO ^^. 4) If you try just the coppery side, you'll get a very pigmented light copper-brown, it's pretty ^^ 5) I read this review on another girl's Blog, she thinks that the mixed color shade looks a lot like MERCURY (flashtonic collection). I agree w/ her on this one. OVERALL: If you want a real vibrant purple e/s, this will be it, BUT! You might love the violet pigment more =.=" I like the color, you get to play around w/ it, mix it up w/ this and that, that's why I think mineralize eyeshadows ROCK!!!

Eye Shadow -Napoleon Perdis - Pressed Pearl Eye Shadow
rated 2 of 5
jin1022000 7/10/2008 10:48:00 PM

Hm... I'm kinda speechless. I've never had any problems w/ e/s creasing ... because I always use UDPP or TSFI. BUT!!! Napoleon eyeshadows creased like crazy ... and I didn't even go out, it lasted only 1 hour and 30 minutes >.<" (at home... no sweats, no sun... ) *sigh*... Napoleon e/s, if I didn't buy you on Sephora for 50% off, I'd be cursing at ya~~~

Eye Shadow -MAC - Electro Flash - Fresh Green Mix
rated 4 of 5
jin1022000 7/9/2008 10:52:00 PM

WOOOOOPS! forgot to add 'flash' after ELECTRO (... *sigh* ... I hate 2 worded collection names) I'm a green eyeshadow addict... so~ even if I already have a bunch of similar colors lying around, I'll still get it!!! ^.~ PRICE: ... 3rd time repeating the price for today, it's $17.50 USD + tax!!!!!!!!!!!! IMO, good deal!!! You'll actually get 3 different colors! ^^ TEXTURE: 3 words: I LOVE IT! Goes on very smoothly~ I wish every MAC e/s can be either Veluxe Pearl or Mineralize!!!!!!! (wishful thinking...) COLOR: 2 sides, MONO and a MIXED ... the mono side is LIME, but lots similar colors out there... ex. MAC bitter (but bitter is a lil bit more yellow and darker and chalky than fresh green mix). I like this side, a great SUMMER color! If you like vibrant lime green, this'll be your HG! ^^ (I still don't know what HG stands for... =.=") The mixed side...! The MAC website described this shade as "Golden olive with blue, aqua veining" (I see the golden olive... but not much of the blue and aqua ... >.<" is MAC blind?!!?!) If you mix the dark part and light part together, you'll have a ... lighter + more pigmented version of MAC GREENSMOKE!!!!!!!! Greensmoke was my love, and it's been my lover for the past few years... so... it's time for.... A NEW LOVERRRR!!!!! (LOL)... love this color~ Olive-Green... very pearlized! and the pale green is gorgeous too!!! a great base color for green e/sz!!! OVERALL: I'd give this a 5, but I don't wanna mislead anybody, because I love green e/s, and I love vibrant colors! However! Lots of ladies out there might not feel comfortable w/ the LIME side, so please go test out the color on your lids at the MAC counter before purchasing it. (and please please please, I know some girls like to buy the colors first, then if they don't like the colors they bought, they'll return them back to MAC, but you know what? MAC THROW AWAY THE RETURNED ITEMS!!!!! They are not gonna keep them if you returned them... it goes right into the garbage can! please don't waste Limited Edition items~~~) *** UPDATE *** (07/24/08) *happy dance* I just realized there're actually ppl who reads reviews (duh... =.=") 4 members of MUA messaged me after they read my dumb question "what does HG stand for?" ... it actually stands for holy grail (someone actually researched it online, how come I didn't think of searching it online~~ ........... ) I know it'd be much more helpful if I can post some swatches / color on lids here~ but I seriously don't know how to import the pictures into my computer =.=" (I'll try to read the instructions of my digi camera tonight)....

Eye Shadow -MAC - Electro Flash - Sea & Sky
rated 5 of 5
jin1022000 7/9/2008 10:36:00 PM

Since I already wrote a review on Hot Contrast, I'll continue w/ the other beautiful shade from this collection: SEA & SKY!!! (cheesy name, but I like it though! ^^ *wink*) PRICE: $17.50... 3 bucks more than the small ones, but alot BIGGER! I'd say it's a pretty good deal ^o^ TEXTURE: typical mineralized eyeshadow's texture, great color payoff and goes on very smoothly!!! I love the texture ^^ COLOR: Okay... I'm not very good at describing colors!!! So please go check them out at the MAC counters in person!!! But I'll give you some infos here~... We all know that this e/s comes w/ 2 sides, a mono side, and a mixed up color side. The mono side is a 'bright blue' color... (says MAC website), let me say this one more time, it's a BRIGHT BLUE (not light blue... it's VIBRANT BLUE). I love this color!! (However, it looks alot like METALBLU from the metal-x collection, maybe some of you will disagree, but IMO... if minus the pigments from the metalblu, Sea & Sky will be Metalblu's evil twin!!!) And I just bought METALBLU on EBAY for $24 USD last month!!! (errrr...) But!!! Metalblu creases like crazy, and Sea & Sky doesn't!! Now let's talk about the other side... if you mix the dark blue, w/ the silvery light blue, you'll get a nice blue shade, much less vibrant than the MONO side~ ... HOWEVER!! now this is the tricky part... if you already have BLUE FLAME from the cool heat collection, you'll wanna stab MAC...they are very similar!!! but!! The reason why I really liked this shade was because ... the silvery pale blue is GORGEOUS!!!!!!! It's a lighter and more pigmented version of MOONFLOWER (LE)! So... overall, if you don't have metalblu, and blue flame, and moonflower... THIS IS A MUST BUY! Will I repurchase? YES YES YES... if I'll ever use it up!! (MAC keeps releasing new collections, how the hell am I ever gonna have the time to use up anything?!)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Electro Flash - Hot Contrast
rated 4 of 5
jin1022000 7/9/2008 10:20:00 PM

Question #1: How come there're NO reviews on this collection what-so-ever?! (Alrighty, let's start w/ me ^^) Question #2: Electro VS. Flashtonic (from last year), who WINS?! (Tell you the truth, Flashtonic beats Electro!!!! This collection isn't unique enough IMO) PRICE: I personally care alot about the price, $17.50... is actually a GREAT deal, because mineralized eyeshadows from MAC are much bigger than their regular small e/sz~... So... for this price, I'm happy with it~ TEXTURE: Hm... I personally LOVE mineralized eyeshadow's texture! The color payoff are great if you did a nice base (UDPP, Mixing Medium, TSFI) And I don't find them to be chalky at all~ (I usually apply e/s w/ my fingers because it's faster ^o^) So... Yeah! I love the texture~ COLOR: What to tell you... from the MAC website, it's described as: "Dirty red with silver and black veining (that's the mixed up side), black mono (that's the single color side). The BLACK MONO side... it's 100% TRUELY black~!!! (I personally been wanting a true black e/s for a long time... because I don't wanna work w/ MAC carbon, it's MATTE! and I try to avoid them~ the other blacks I have... aren't black enough IMO. ex.: NARS night breed, MAC blacktied) So... for me, I NEED ONE BLACK EYESHADOW! (and VIOLA! this is it!) Once again, the color payoff is great~ (I used mixing medium as a base~) .................. NOW let's talk about the 'complicated' side~ (i don't get why MAC like to use the word 'DIRTY' in their color descriptions?! please define dirty~~~~) Trust me, you won't get a true red from this shade! What you'll get is ... light red (not pink, but red + white), VERY PEARLIZED! I like it~ if you mix red and the silver part together... and!!! if you mix the red and the almost black together, you'll have a very pretty dark burgundy color!!! So overall, NICE COLOR! Question #3: Why did I give this baby a 4 lippies? (not 5?!?!?).. because for most ladies out there, you might not find this e/s to be unique!!! and plus, not everyone can pull off the red shade~ So to be fair, I'll give a 4 for this e/s~ Will I repurchase? I hate answering this question =.=" because I can never finish one single makeup item!!!! (and lip balms don't count!!!)
