I was recommended to use Betadine surgical scrub by my dermatologist for my acne. I was hesitant at first but what a turnaround this has made in my skin! My skin cleared up within a month of using this and while you might think it's harsh, it's the exact opposite. It does a perfect job of good cleansing + moisturizing. My oily skin is clean and well hydrated after washing with this and I no longer need to use a toner. Highly recommended for those struggling with acne!
Treatments (Eye) -Boscia - Enlivening Amino-AG Eye Treatment

I absolutely love this eye cream! It is a perfect gel/cream consistency so it moisturizes well without overdoing it for us oily-skinned girls. It has the perfect amount of hydration and finishes well for then putting on concealer. And I love that it's in a pump dispenser so it stays sanitary (& a little bit goes a long way) Worth the $!
What ingenuity - the shape of this eyeliner tube makes putting on liquid eyeliner in a straight line effortless and easy, without skipping. You can make thin or thick cat eyes with this and the staying power is great. The ease in putting on liquid liner this way is worth the extra $!
I love this lipstick and it is such a great wine red on my tan, Indian skin. It really complements my skin tone and makes my teeth look whiter. The staying power is wonderful without making your lips feel dry. And it's the perfect red for this season's stand-out red lips that everyone's wearing!
I'm not sure why this mascara gets good reviews but all it did was lengthen my lashes but not really volumize them. On top of that, this is one of those mascaras that makes your lashes hard and "crunchy", which I can't stand. It also smudges easily. Not buying again.
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner in Espresso

Great eyeliner that is the same brown-black color as Bobbi Brown's Caviar Ink but at 1/3 the price! The brush is fantastic, the color is great, and the eyeliner lasts all day. I've officially converted from BB!
Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner in Navy
jg7251 12/5/2012 12:33:00 PM
Love, love, love this eyeliner! It is a true navy-black which is great because I hate those bright blue eyeliners. Also, this gel eyeliner is just as good as Bobbi Brown's but at about 1/3 the price! And it comes with its own brush which is great for drawing thin or thick lines. Great staying power also. Price, quality, and color just can't be beat!!!
Powder -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup

Really wanted to like this b/c of all the good reviews here but this did not live up to expectations. Although it's named as a foundation powder, the coverage is too light and the product fades after a few hours. Would be good as an overall face powder but there are less expensive versions out there that do the same job in terms of oil control. Returned it next day.
Moisturizers -Bioelements - Lutein Indoor Protective Day Creme

I have to disagree with the negative reviews below. I absolutely love this face cream! It is moisturizing without being oily which is great for my normal/oily skin in the winter. Not sure if it will be too heavy in the summer but for now I absolutely love it. I was skeptical at first b/c it looks heavy in the jar, but on my aestethician's rec., I tried it and she was right that it absorbs instantly and leaves your skin feeling silky, not oily. Don't know about the indoor light protection claims but it is full of great antioxidants so it's a great product regardless 1
Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Happy Sensation w/Bamboo Extract & Orange Blossom Scent
jg7251 8/18/2010 11:23:00 AM
I really love this lotion! The scent is great - light, citrusy, refreshing and a nice pick me up in the morning. It's also great for the summer time because it's light enough but still does a good job moisturizing. I also only need a small amount compared to other lotions. This would probably not cut it for winter because it's too light for that time of year. Great price too!
Sunscreen -Skinceuticals - Sheer Physical UV Defense SPF 50

This is a great product for oily skin - truly goes on matte and feels like you are not wearing sunscreen. It is on the expensive side but I've found you only need a small amount to cover a large area. As far as the white cast, it does have that at first when you put it but then disappears after you rub it in. I have tan Indian skin and have no problem with the white cast! Definitely a winner!
Nice mascara but does not add volume at all. Does a good job lengthening and separating but not worth the high price. I actually don't care for the mascara coming off in tubes - it just gets all over the place. Not planning on repurchasing.
Mascara -Rimmel - Volume Flash The Max in Extreme Black 003
jg7251 1/26/2010 11:46:00 AM
I'm not sure why this mascara has gotten such great reviews. I tried it for a week based on the reviews and really did not like it. It doesn't thicken very much, is clumpy, and results in "spidery" lashes. So far one of the worst! I'm trying Rimmel's Sexy Curves and liking it much better.
Love this shampoo! Leaves my hair soft but not weighed down. In fact, this is almost identical to my Biosilk shampoo but at 1/3 the price! Update 12/14/09: I've noticed that every time I use this shampoo, although it makes my hair soft, it also makes it flat and harder to style. So I won't be repurchasing this again!
Concealers -Make Up For Ever - Extreme Camouflage Cream

I love this concealer for my undereye hereditary dark circles! I have tan, Indian skin and dark circles that have a bluish/purplish cast to them. Based on the reviews here and Paual Begoun's recommendation also, I went out and got this from Sephora. This is hands down the best undereye concealer I've ever used. My skin is oily and the biggest problem I've had with concealers is that they disappear by the afternoon. Not this one! Stays on, covers the circles completely and doesn't cake. I got it in #12, which was a perfect match for my skin tone. You only need a little bit of it and I use the Sonia Kaushik concealer brush to apply it (love that brush too!). Just work it in somewhat quickly since it dries fast. Other than that, this is my HG concealer now!
