Treatments -Lancome - Renergie Double Performance Treatment Anti-Wrinkle Firming Cream
jester1113 3/9/2008 10:31:00 AM
I'm surprised this hasn't been reviewed yet! This is touted as an "anti-wrinkle and firming treatment" but I use it as a moisturizer. I haven't seen any amelioration in wrinkles or increase in firmness, but it ROCKS at hydrating. I use it all over at night and during the day I'll put it on my forehead (which gets very dry and scaly) and then use dermalogica's skin smoothing cream over it. Love this cream and I can tell when I haven't used it. Cons: I'm not a fan of the fragrance which is very grandmotherly in scent. Avoid your eye area, you'll turn puffy. And the price...ouch!

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil

Gosh, I hate this even more than the original beewax balm! Plus, I seem to be allergic to something in it, the inside of my lower lip became raw and very painful, as if someone had scrubbed it with sand paper.

Hate it. Makes my lips even drier. I don't understand its cult following, honestly.

Cleansers -Burt's Bees - Deep Cleansing Cream with Soap Bark and Chamomile
jester1113 3/9/2008 9:55:00 AM
Love this cleanser and I use it in the am. Rinses cleanly but doesn't leave my skin feeling overly dry either (most cleansers leave my skin feeling somewhat dry at the very least).

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Super Rich Repair
jester1113 3/9/2008 9:37:00 AM
I have samples as well, so no comments on packaging. This is a VERY heavy cream -- like Eucerin on steroids! My skin (forehead) gets so dry in winter it looks scaly, but this was just too heavy for overall application, I had two small spots under my eyes when I woke up. May be ok for targeted application here and there, but I'm hesistant to use it again. Although my skin wasn't dry in the am (in fact, it was very soft), so it does moisturize! Just not for me I think.

Cleansers -Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser

I find Cetaphil to be very drying. If you have normal skin, it might be ok, but my skin tends to be dry and sensitive. Left my skin red, very tight and peeling/flaky.

Moisturizers -La Mer - Creme de la mer moisturizer

I actually use my La Mer as an eye cream and LOVE it. It's the only one I've found so far that doesn't make my eyes sting by mid-afternoon (be sure you wear a good smudge proof mascara though). I use it day and night.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Intensive Moisture Balance
jester1113 6/4/2005 9:53:00 AM
I purchased after reading the reviews here and I'm not disappointed. I have dry, breakout prone skin that turns out is just sensitive! I'd over scrub and be immediately dry and tight (mask-like) and then use an oil free moisturizer so in a few hours I'd be a total oil slick. Now, I use a pea sized amt of this, no tightness, no dryness and NO OIL SLICKS!!!! Go figure. Also, my skin tone is much more even because it's no longer so angry. Used it for about a week now and no new breakouts. In fact, I don't want to jinx myself my skin appear clearer too. I'm a dermalogica convert.

Styling Products -Rusk - Wired - Multiple Personality Styling Cream

Good stuff, but personally I can't use it in the summer when it's humid. In the winter though, I use this everyday -- you really do only need a tiny amt. Any more than that, I can't even get the round brush through my hair to blow dry -- makes it that thick!

Shampoo -Rusk - Clarify Shampoo
jester1113 5/24/2005 8:33:00 PM
I too got the cheap liter bottle at costco -- probably almost a year ago and I still have about 1/3 left. I only use it two or three times a week, but I really like it (even the smell). Makes my hair squeaky clean, although a handful of times when I've overdone it on the products, I've had to lather, rinse, repeat as one shampoo wasn't enough to get my hair thoroughly clean.

This stuff is great slathered on your feet -- put on socks, go to bed and wake with with super soft tootsies. I find it too heavy and sticky for anything else.

It made the insides of my lips blister! Very painful, and took a few days to heal. Will never, ever, use a benefit product again.
