Why in the world does anyone spend the money on fancy eye makeup removers? This is so basic to have around the house, for eye makeup remover, moisturizer, I sometimes use it to clean my Persian cat's face, and my husband uses it with his drill to drill through glass easier :) I buy the Kroger brand, so it's even cheaper than J&J.

Shampoo -LUSH - BIG

Only four lippies due to the ingredient list- it has either sodium laureth sulfate, or lauryl sulfate, I forget which, which I try to stay away from. However, otherwise, this makes my hair very shiny smooth. It does not make my hair big, but I would rather have the shine. I use it every other day and it has lasted about three to four months, and I still have a little left. It is also fabulously fun to use- the novelty has yet to wear off :)

Eyeliner -Sephora - doe eyed Felt Eyeliner in Black
rated 1 of 5

I am giving up on all Sephora products. I have not been happy with a single one yet. As other reviewers have said, product does not get to the tip. I did cut the tip off, and it works a little better, but it fades off throughout the day, which is not a good thing for a liquid eyeliner. I used to have the ULTA felt eyeliner, and it lasted forever and was much cheaper.

Eyeliner -Sephora - Silver Green Nano Eyeliner

Not good quality. Hard to put on- it really tugs and pulls, and even then I have to put on several times for it to show up. It does not last long either.

I have only used samples of this so I can't comment on the price. Otherwise, my new favorite, I think! I am so not able to determine individual scents in a perfume, I only know if it smells good overall to me and this one does. I get compliments when I wear it. My husband has a sample of the men's one, and we smell pretty hot together, I think :).

Mascara -LORAC - Visual Effects
rated 4 of 5
jess428 11/10/2010 9:04:00 PM

I bought both the black and the midnight blue in a set (2 for $20, so not a bad deal at all for high-end), and after getting used to them, I love this mascara. It took awhile though! The black one especially is very "goopy", and I know now to have some tissue on hand when using. I don't really have the same issue with the blue for some reason....apparently I got a lucky tube! Yes, it is gloppy and messy, but if you can stick through the mess and learn to just clean as you go, it is worth it. My eyes look quite dramatic after using either, and the blue is a gorgeous color. If you don't mind putting in some effort and clean up time when applying makeup, this is worth it.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Radiance
rated 3 of 5
jess428 9/28/2010 11:46:00 AM

This a really pretty lotion- I love shimmery lotions, and this one fits that bill, but it really irritates my just-shaved legs. And considering that the whole point to using this is to use it when the shimmer can be seen, it can only be used on my legs after I have just shaved! I probably will not purchase just to use on arms, etc, so unfortunately, this will have been a one-time purchase.

Powder -100 Percent Pure - Healthy Glow Powder with spf 20
rated 5 of 5
jess428 9/28/2010 11:15:00 AM

This has become my go-to powder. I rarely wear foundation/powder (and not because I have anywhere near perfect skin, but because I am convinced that I may have a chance at good skin someday if I keep all crap off of it!!), but when I do, this powder has the most natural ingredient list of any I've found to date. Mineral foundations do not work for me, and I don't like the ingredient list in traditional powders, and this is the perfect compromise. It does not itch, does not make me oily (and trust me, that is a miracle), and does not make me break out (but again, I don't use everyday). It has good buildable coverage also, better than mineral foundations, I think. A little powdery looking when first applied, but sinks in quickly. I like that it is pressed, but that I can use a makeup brush as if it were a loose formula. I have the lightest formulation, and it is a good match for me, and does minimize redness. I have no complaints, and will not switch unless it stops working for me!

Shampoo -LUSH - Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo
rated 5 of 5
jess428 9/28/2010 10:51:00 AM

I LOVE this shampoo. I happen to love the smell- I seem to like smells that disgust other people :) This makes my hair feel clean and silky, and it is SO shiny. I only shampoo the top half of my hair (I have oily roots), and only condition the bottom (dry ends), and this seems to be the ideal formula for the shampooed parts of my hair. It is small bottle that is very expensive, but I find that it lathers well, and a little goes a long way. My husband loves it to, and he does not usually have much use for my frivolous beauty purchases :) This shampoo will definitely be a regular in my hair care rotations!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Marie Veronique Organics Crème de Soleil SPF 30
rated 5 of 5
jess428 8/25/2010 3:36:00 PM

This product has been renamed "Moisturizing Face Screen", still with SPF 30, and still with choice of tinted or non tinted. This is for the non tinted version. I don't think I will ever use another sunscreen/moisturizer as long as my skin does not become immune to this or something. This whole line works so well for me. I have EXTREMELY oily skin, so this is just the right amount of moisture for me. I am also extremely fair skinned, so this is actually a perfect tint for me, blends well, and I don't even usually wear makeup over it- this suffices. I did some intense Internet research before purchasing, and this is considered one of the top 10 most effective, non-toxic sunscreens out there. Yes, it is expensive, but so worth it!!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Red-E To Go All-In-One Hair Treatment
rated 5 of 5
jess428 5/18/2010 11:16:00 AM

I'm so surprised this has not been reviewed anywhere on here yet. It is fabulous!! I bought it from my hair salon, and when I did a search on the internet, I could only find it through Amazon and other online retailers, so maybe it is just not widely available. This is an all-in-one treatment (hence the name :) ), that acts as a detangler, leave in conditioner, shine enhancer, sun protection, etc. It is the BEST detangler I have ever used. I have an awful problem with tangles- I used to literally have to take a break halfway through combing out my hair in the morning after a shower, because my arms would get tired :). This product has all but dissolved that problem. It tangles less throughout the day as well. My hair always feels nice and soft as it dries. The condition of my hair has improved, as an indirect result- because I'm not tearing through it to comb it out any longer, I naturally get less split ends. Side note- I use a LOT of this product- I just saturate it on. So the 8 oz bottle does not last long for me. Those who do not have as bad of a tangle problem may not need to use nearly as much. This was expensive at the salon- $17-18. I have found it on the internet for as low as $8-9. This is probably one of the only products I have still loved as much at the end of the bottle as from the beginning!!

Mascara -Sephora - Lash Plumper
rated 3 of 5
jess428 5/18/2010 10:51:00 AM

Got this in my birthday sample kit, like everyone else, I'm sure :). For some reason, I always think of terms like "light and fluffy!" when I use this. As someone else said, this is a very servicable mascara- nothing outrageously great, but hey, I didn't pay for it :)

Cleansers -Shu Uemura - Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/O
rated 5 of 5
jess428 5/18/2010 10:34:00 AM

This product is unbelievable. And I don't rave about products. I am on my second bottle of this, and this has helped save my skin. I have been using all kinds of combinations of AHA, BHA, GA products on my face for years, and some would work ok, but for the most part no significant improvement in texture, acne, etc. Like every other oily skinned person out there I hesitated to use anything "oil" on my face, and I did a lot of research on why oil works so well on oily skin. I am a convert. I have only had positive results with this product- no breakouts, soft skin, no irritation. Removes all eye makeup as others have said. I use this only at night, and use a regular, basic cleanser in the morning. I follow up at night with pure Vitamin E oil for a moisturizer. I still have some experimentation to do with other skincare products to get optimal results, but this will be a staple from now on.

Eyeliner -Ulta - Precision Liquid Liner
rated 4 of 5
jess428 3/23/2010 9:38:00 AM

Very good basic liquid eyeliner. I have been using this for ages now without it drying up (I think I bought it a year and a half ago, use it about 3 days a week or so, and it is just now started to dry up). This is one of the only ULTA products I think I would actually repurchase :) Stays all day, and on me, that is a real feat :)

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - Flawless Definition mascara
rated 4 of 5
jess428 3/20/2010 1:37:00 PM

I don't know if I would buy this at full price, but I would definitely use it again if it was part of a set or something. I kind of don't believe in buying mascara by itself, because it is so often part of a gift set or a GWP in one brand or another. I got the sample size as a free gift with purchase, and it is a very good mascara. I like the formula, it is very smooth and creamy, not at all clumpy, and I have been using this for awhile. The wand is average, I guess. I can make my lashes look very defined if I work with it a bit. It does smudge under my eyes a little bit, but not terribly.
