Fragrances -Pacifica - Tuscan Blood Orange

Luscious juicy citrus with just a hint of floral. It's perfect for a hot summer day and surprisingly is a huge compliment getter. Definitely a "mmm you smell good" fragrance rather than a "what perfume are you wearing" one. I had to take off a lippie for the poor lasting power but at these prices just grab the roll on version too, for touch ups during the day.

Warm, sensuous, complex, this fragrance melds with my body chemistry... feels like it's part of me rather than just sitting on my skin, if that makes any sense. It dries down to a delicious glow that seems to linger forever.

Liquid -La Prairie - Skin Caviar Concealer Foundation SPF15
rated 5 of 5

Wow! Yes, it's obscenely expensive, but then again how much is it worth to have an amazingly flawless, glowing complexion? This foundation delivers not only perfection, but natural looking perfection. My skin is good to begin with but at my age (55) even good skin needs a little foundation to look amazing. I like how it offers great coverage and still manages to look perfectly natural. I'm generally a penny pincher, but this is my big splurge, and worth every penny.

Blush -Sephora - Double Contouring Cream Blush - Coral Flush
rated 5 of 5
jerseycindy 2/10/2013 12:56:00 AM

First off, don't let the name fool you. This is not coral, but rather a gorgeous rich pinky peach with a subtle gold shimmer. It is exactly what I wanted NARS Orgasm to be - a shimmering blush that gives off a "glow from within" in a universally flattering shade. Whereas Orgasm is loaded with chunks of gold glitter, Coral Flush's shimmer is more luminescent. I love the cream to powder formala; it has the easy application and glowiness of a cream and the longevity of a powder. Perfect blush.

Shampoo -Suave - Suave Professionals Black Raspberry & White Tea
rated 4 of 5

Great product in every way except for the syrupy (sort of like overripe fruit) scent, which is why I took off a lippie. I've been using semi-permanent color on my hair so I want something that will get it nice and clean while the color stays fresh. This is truly the only product I have found (at any price) that fits the bill. It leaves my hair soft, shiny, bouncy - just looking and feeling super healthy. So I will without a doubt continue to use it, but I hope someone hears the call for a cleaner, fresher scent.

Lips -Revlon - Color Burst lip butter - Cotton Candy
rated 4 of 5
jerseycindy 3/11/2012 1:35:00 AM

I got this at a Walgreen's BOGO sale along with Cherry Tart and this is definitely my favorite of the two. Yes, it's sheer, but that's what I love about it. It's gives a soft, glossy, shimmery pink lip that's perfect when you're going for an effortless casual look. I might come back and give it 5 stars if I start wearing it every day (and that could happen). If you're not looking for strong color, but rather the illusion of color, you'll probably like this.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter - Cherry Tart
rated 3 of 5

I thought this would be a dupe of my beloved LQ Medieval so I gave it a shot when they had a BOGO at Walgreens. It's pretty close in that it gives a nice pop of bright, true red that's sheer enough not to be a statement lip. It falls short by being ever so slightly on the blue side and having a little more shimmer than a shade of this sort should have.

Fragrances -Dawn Spencer Hurwitz - ceylon
rated 2 of 5
jerseycindy 11/30/2011 4:44:00 AM

I really wanted to love this. My husband is from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and what's more, I'm in love with the smell of a good spicy chai. I bought it unsniffed based on the reviews - how could I go wrong? Unfortunately, all the luscious spices were overshadowed by some sort of funky amber/BO-ish type thing. I tried several times, hoping I was just having a bad time getting it to work for me, but it just isn't happening.

Other -Weleda - Salt Toothpaste
rated 5 of 5

I can't believe I haven't thought to review this until now. I've been using this toothpaste for about 4 years now and haven't looked back. Please, don't let the name scare you. Yes, it's brownish and tastes a little baking soda & salt-y but trust me, it also has a delightful, slightly minty flavor to balance the salt. I actually like the taste and absolutely LOVE the super clean feeling and taste it leaves in my mouth. I'd give it six lippies if I could.

Lipstick -Lipstick Queen - Medieval
rated 5 of 5
jerseycindy 3/5/2011 11:40:00 PM

As others have mentioned, Medieval gives the lips just a beautiful natural looking hint of red. The best way I can describe it is if I had naturally rosebud red lips and put a swipe of lipbalm over them. Such a perfect, pretty look that brightens my face. I never imagined I would wear red lipstick, but this actually looks more natural than any other shade I have worn. Will buy another for my purse.

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Coco - Jersey Rose #77
rated 2 of 5
jerseycindy 3/5/2011 11:33:00 PM

All the reviews I read on this site and others raved about Jersey Rose, with many calling it "MLBB". The raves were nearly unanimous so I bought it sight unseen. Well my lips aren't anything close to a pale chalky orangey pink, so it turned out to be a huge mistake. It also has a very strong rose scent which I find unappealing.

Lipstick -Lipstick Queen - by Poppy -Saint Natural
rated 4 of 5
jerseycindy 12/13/2010 10:54:00 PM

I almost gave this 2 lippies is because the texture is lovely. But oh boy - (not sure what my problem is because everyone seems to love it) the color is horrendous. When I opned the package I was sure they sent me the wrong color; surely the dark, matte, orangey, brick red lipstick I was looking at wasn't the much touted MLBB Saint Natural. But it was, and I'm baffled. I also ordered the 3 piece set (Medieval, Butterfly Ball Sigh and Saint Pink) as well as Butterfly Ball Float both of which should be arriving tomorrow... hoping for a better outcome! Edit: OK, I'm doing an almost about face here. I was expecting a lighter, softer shade, and on my tired skin in the evening with no other makeup, it looked harsh and orangey. This morning it actually is a sheer MLBB shade with none of the orange that I saw yesterday and the texture is still lovely.

Bath Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Epsom Salts
rated 5 of 5
jerseycindy 11/11/2010 12:16:00 AM

This is one case where the cheapest product happens to be the best. I get a huge half gallon carton for about $2 and nothing - I mean NOTHING comes close to epsom salts for relaxing in the tub after a long stressful day. I add a few drops of lavender essential oil for a spa-like experience. Truly the ultimate cheap thrill.

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisture Locking Lotion
rated 2 of 5
jerseycindy 8/31/2010 9:56:00 PM

I thought this would be a good basic inexpensive unscented body lotion but unfortunately it only filled one of the above criteria (inexpensive). First of all, even though it doesn't have added fragrance, it does have a distinct plasticky smell. Second of all, it leaves a sticky residue that needed a couple of rounds of heavy duty body scrub to get off.

Fragrances -Viktor & Rolf - Flower Bomb Bath Oil
rated 4 of 5
jerseycindy 7/31/2010 1:12:00 AM

What a shame; this is a wonderful (albeit ridiculously expensive for bath oil) product, thoughtlessly packaged. First the good: It's the irresistable Flowerbomb fragrance in a lovely bath oil that disperses beautifully in the bath. Just a few drops turns the bath water into a delectable pool of fragrant delight...BUT... ...the bad: It's impossible to get just a few drops of the oil out of this clumsy, ill-conceived bottle. The big, bulky glass bottle is hard to grasp and when you try to pour out a few drops, the oil dribbles down the side. I will probably end up pouring it into a plastic squirt bottle, which is a shame because the bottle is actually very pretty. Impractical but pretty. All I can say is what a pity because the contents are divine.
