Lip Treatments -MAC - Hello Kitty -- Popster Tinted Lip Conditioner
jenzene 5/23/2009 6:28:00 PM
After using this about 5 times I knew I had to get a back-up. This is my go-to TLC (on the days that I want to give Petting Pink a break). For my coloring (Asian, tanned) the coral-pink color is very flattering. I love that my husband thinks it's pink but my colleague says it's more coral (lol)! I don't really have an issue with dipping my finger in the pot. I just take what I need, wipe my finger on my lips before pressing my lips together, and I don't have to clean off my finger later. The color pay-off is great, the packaging is adorable (I think the black background makes Hello Kitty more grown-up), and the product itself is very moisturizing. Considering it's a lip balm and not a lipstick, don't expect it to stay on through food and drink.

Eyeliner -Revlon - ColorStay eyeliner in Black Brown
jenzene 5/23/2009 6:20:00 PM
This is such a great product that I had to try it on my colleague, who doesn't usually wear eyeliner because she felt she can't apply it well. She loved that it didn't budge when she got home, so she went out and bought one for herself and she loves it! She now wears eyeliner to work everyday! I gave this a 2 for price, but if you have a 2-for-1 deal at your drugstore, then it really would be dirt cheap! It's easy to use and there is a ton of product. It's good for work and it's dark enough to use for a smokey look. After 8 hours of wear it's still there! Heat doesn't smear it, tears don't smudge it! I've always been a fan of Revlon's ColorStay line. The liquid liner is best when I need a lot of control (for, say, drawing a cat-eye), but this is perfect for everyday!

Lip Treatments -MAC - Tinted Lip Conditioner - Petting Pink
jenzene 5/23/2009 6:10:00 PM
I AM ADDICTED. The smell is pleasant without being overpowering (*ahem* Tendertone *ahem*), the taste isn't too bad either, and my lips look and feel kissable! Few people like sticking their fingers in a pot over and over again, but the way I apply it, I don't really have to wipe my finger on anything after application. The color is sheer, but buildable to a certain extent. This really is the perfect color to make your lips look healthy and moist!

Cleansers -AcneFree - 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser
jenzene 5/23/2009 5:59:00 PM
ACNEFREE IS MY SAVIOR. Five years ago I discovered that Clean & Clear Persagel-10 was the only product in any drugstore that could zap away my pimples once and for all. Unfortunately, it isn't practical to use 10% benzoyl peroxide all over my face. After years of dealing with ineffective cleansers with salicylic acid (all that stinging sensation for nothing!), a few months ago I found the ONLY drugstore cleanser with benzoyl peroxide. Even better, Acnefree came in a KIT, just like ProActiv but CHEAPER! (About $20 for a 3 weeks' worth of product.) Within three days my pimples were taken care of and I haven't seen them since. I ran out of toner faster than the cleanser and lotion, so I bought a cheap alcohol-free toner (Neutrogena, $2-3) and kept using the others. I'm still on the same bottle of lotion (it has been 2 months!) and I've purchased a larger bottle of cleanser. Thank goodness it's sold separately and I don't have to keep buying the 3-piece kit! Now I use the cleanser only once a day (at night) and just tone in the morning to keep my skin from drying out. Yes, benzoyl peroxide dries out your skin- that's a well-known fact. However, it also dries the crap out of your pimples, which makes me very happy! My skin hasn't looked this good since puberty hit. When I thought things can't get any better, I found a coupon for Acnefree. Save $3 off any AcneFree system AND save $1 on any non-kit AcneFree treatment! HALLELUJAH!

Moisturizers -Lancome - Primordiale Skin Recharge Moisturizing Cream SPF 15
jenzene 12/9/2008 4:10:00 PM
I've been exfoliating a lot lately and my skin has been peeling and getting dried out. I decided to take this for a spin the other night. OMG this stung my cheeks like a muthaeffer!! I had never felt stinging like that ever in my life! If you have sensitive acne-prone skin, avoid this product like the plague!! I'm glad I didn't buy this (I swapped for it).

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Differin Gel .3
jenzene 10/20/2008 7:53:00 PM
I didn't buy this. I received a bunch of sample-sized tubes of this from my derm. This does NOTHING. I had a whole bunch of red acne (as opposed to whiteheads) on my cheeks and a bit on my forehead. I applied this 3x a week as recommended by my derm (who I don't even like- gonna ask for another one next time). This didn't get rid of anything. It didn't even prevent acne- pimples still appeared after 3 weeks of use! Just a thought: this stuff has methylparaben, but I've read that parabens are bad for your skin?

Lipstick -MAC - Satin Lipstick in Brave
jenzene 10/9/2008 1:14:00 PM

It's not very drying, but it doesn't really moisturize my lips either. For reference, I'm a warm-toned NC30. Brave is an opaque lightly-pink nude color and does a nice job of muting my pink pigmented lips without making me look dead- there's just enough pink tinge to make me look alive! Can't wait to wear this with dramatic eye make-up!

Polishes -OPI - Bubble Bath
jenzene 10/6/2008 12:17:00 AM
I bought this thinking it can one-up OPI Makes Men Blush, but it doesn't. It's still a really great natural polish though. It's sheer, and it's a very very light pink with a touch of ivory. I think it's a little too pink for me though (NC35-ish). OPI MMB remains my HG my-nails-but-better n/p. The formula is great! Very slightly streaky going on, but as it dries it evens itself out.

I bought this thinking it can one-up OPI Makes Men Blush (my current HG my-nails-but-better n/p), but it doesn't. It's still a really great natural polish though. It's sheer, and it's off-white with a touch of pink. I think it's a little too white for me though (NC35-ish). Great formula, perfect perfect application. No streaks, bubbles, nada!

Lipstick -MAC - Mellow Flame
jenzene 10/6/2008 12:08:00 AM
It makes my lips look ORANGE. On my hand it looks like coral with a tinge of red, but on my lips, it looked so bad. (I'm warm-toned NC30 with somewhat pigmented lips.)

Lipstick -MAC - Fast Lane (Rushmetal 2007)
jenzene 10/6/2008 12:05:00 AM
Meh. The color doesn't really show up on me, nor does it stay for very long.. or maybe I thought it faded but it didn't because it doesn't really show up on me. Anyway, I'm NC30 and this takes some layering for it to really have an effect. It's nice, but I won't fret if I run out.

Blush -MAC - Beauty Powder Blush in Secret Blush
jenzene 10/6/2008 12:01:00 AM
I love how this is layerable! My cheeks looked rosy and shiny (in a good way)! I'm NC30 and it really looked fabulous. It's plummy, but on my cheeks it was kinda plummy with a tinge of pink. I wish it wasn't so dang expensive.

Polishes -OPI - ChicaGo Get A Manicure
jenzene 10/2/2008 12:37:00 PM
This had the original brush, which I find hard to work with, but amazingly the end-result is sooooo perfect and gorgeous! The color is a deep berry-wine color that is a shade or two darker than Hoodoo Voodoo. It's a creme, so no shimmer. It's so perfect for fall! I think it's supposed to be a cool-toned color, but it looks fine on me (NC30ish warm-toned tanned Asian skin).

I love the Pro-wide brush! It makes my application so smooth Speaking of smooth, the formula is creamy, not too thick. Application is absolutely perfect! The color is a deep raspberry creme (no shimmer/glitter) and it goes great with my tanned warm-toned (NC35?) skin. I think it's a great color for all seasons! This is kind of the lighter version of ChicaGo Get This Manicure! It has been two days and not a single chip! That's amazing, considering I'm almost constantly scratching and playing with my dog when I'm at home and typing at work.

Polishes -OPI - Ulta-mate Berry Beautiful
jenzene 9/27/2008 4:41:00 PM
I really really like this nailpolish, but I wouldn't buy it again because it looks exactly like Chick Flick Cherry. The application is superb. Even with the smaller brush (I prefer the Pro-wide), the application is gorgeous. Not chunky, not streaky at all. The color is a creme (no shimmer) bright red that goes great with my warm-toned tanned skin. However, it's a little bright for my taste. There's no berry-ness, unfortunately.
