Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Collagenta Active Collagen Serum

THIS PRODUCT IS A SCAM!!! I accidentally got suckered into a sample for this serum, and in the fine print, it automatically subscribes you to a monthly purchase of this product charged to your credit card. If you do not return the product within 14 days of the trial, then you are stuck with the subscription. I tried to cancel the subscription as soon as I found out, and the customer service rep said I was no longer in the system. But then this product shows up in the mail again! After I finally got the return address from them, I had to return the package to Israel at my own cost. It cost me $85!!! I tried the product for 30 days (which I ended up paying $98 for) and I did not notice any difference in my skin at all. The product is oily and a bit sticky. You have to wait 2 minutes before you can put anything else on. I didn't like it at all. So, if you ever see a pop-up add about Collagenta Active Collagen Serum, just ignore it. It's not really free and then it is so difficult and expensive to get out of the automatic subscription.
Treatments -Christian Dior - Capture Totale One Essential Skin Boosting Super Serum

I started noticing results within a day of starting to use this serum. My skin seemed to glow more radiantly and fine lines seemed to disappear. The downside is that it is VERY expensive, $100 CDN and it only lasted 1 month. That's too expensive for me and I have a full-time professional job as a manager. It says that it is the start of your skin beauty routine to help make other products work better, so you still need to apply other creams on top for moisturizing and deep wrinkles, etc. Although this seemed to work well, there's only a small amount per bottle (much smaller than the bottle size makes it appear), so I won't be buying this again. I will switch to Clarins Double Serum, which people say lasts 6 months or more.
Based on other reviews posted here I decided to try Bright Expert to fade out my acne scars and spotting caused by sun damage on my face. I've been using this morning and night for the past 3 weeks and I really haven't seen any difference in the spots. They're still very visible and I still have to use a thick concealer to hide them. So far, I'm very disappointed that this product has not lived up to the high reviews posted here. There's perhaps a slight fading in intensity of the dark spots, so that's why I'm giving this a 3, and I have not had any acne since I started using this. I'll update my post after I have used up the bottle and let you know if there's been any improvement. UPDATE: After 6 months of using this product, I can still clearly see my dark spots from sun exposure and my old acne scars. I have to use concealer to hide them. So I'm downgrading my score from 3 to 2 because this stuff clearly does not work on lightening dark spots, though it may brighten overall complexion. I will never buy this product again.
Mascara -Chanel - Inimitable Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel

I LOVE this mascara! It is the blackest black mascara that I have found. I have tried Lancome, Maybelline, Benefit among other lesser brands, and I now ONLY buy Chanel as my HG of mascaras! It curls, adds just enough volume and some length. It gives a crisp, sophisticated look and makes my eyes prettier and pop. It has beeswax in it which helps it not smudge and holds the curl. It is the most smudge-proof non-waterproof mascara ever! The mascara product glides on smoothly with no clumping and gives nice separation of the lashes. This is not a high-drama mascara for going out clubbing. I use this everyday going to work in a professional workplace and for going out dining. If I need a boost, then I use the Lancome Oscillation Powerbooster lash primer before I apply the Chanel. Even though it's expensive, I love it and will never go back to any other brand.
I DON'T recommend buying this product. I used this product for several months and my skin does not seem much improved. My acne scars are still visible. I used this product in the morning and evening before bed. It did make my skin appear smoother and with fewer pores, but my forehead broke out MASSIVELY with the largest cystic acne sore I ever had since I was a teenager!!! It was extremely gross and left a big brown acne scar on my forehead. I'm 40 now and I should not have to experience major acne breakouts anymore! Since I stopped using it, my skin is back to normal with no more acne. Over-hyped and overly expensive.
Treatments (Eye) -Vichy - Aqualia Thermal Eye Roll-On

I just tried this on one eye and after several minutes, the eye I used this on is very visibly tightened and brighter than the other! I am SO impressed! NOTHING else I have tried, and I have tried many expensive eye treatments (including the Vichy eye stick, Lancome Genifique for eyes) has ever worked so well, so quickly! My treated eye looks younger, brighter and more awake than the other, which has a noticeable sag to it. I'm AMAZED!!! I'm so happy I finally found something that works! UPDATE: I found that for really baggy eyes, I needed to re-apply the product for a second dose in the morning. It's good to keep it handy in your purse if you need another uplift during the day. You have to give it at least 10-15 minutes to see the difference. It won't completely eliminate puffiness, but it most definitely reduces it a lot. At least for me, it's the best anti-puffiness treatment I've ever tried. (TIP: you have to squeeze the tube as you roll.)
I'm in my late 30s, Asian with fine lines, dark circles and puffiness around my eyes. I had a facial done at Lancome in a department store and got my face and eyes treated with Genifique. I loved the effect of Genifique on my face, and the skin care specialist recommended I get the eye treatment too for my dark circles and puffiness. However, after several months of using Genifique on my eyes, it has done hardly anything noticeable. I think the dark circles have gradually become less dark, but it did nothing for puffiness. It is not the same type of texture as the Genifique facial serum at all. It was a waste of money and I would never buy it again. I got much better, faster results for puffiness using Vichy Aqualia Thermal Eye Roll-On within minutes!
Lip Treatments -Neostrata - Anti-wrinkle Lip Enhancer
jenx3989 2/9/2011 1:23:00 PM
I think this is the same product that is listed as "Neostrata Lip Plumper" on MakeupAlley, because Neostrata doesn't sell a "Lip Plumper" product, according to their website. I tried this out as a sample and I liked it right away. My lips got a nice slightly rosy colour and more plumpness to them right away. In another review, she said it's too glossy, but the glossiness goes away in a few minutes once it gets all absorbed. I'm looking at myself right now after putting it on for 10 minutes and my lips have just a slight sheen to them, but not overly glossy. I'm 39 with some minor signs of aging. My lips were looking kind of pale, lifeless and deflated before, so I'm quite happy that this Neostrata product makes them look younger and healthier. I don't like to wear lip gloss or lipstick, so I like using this alone for everyday use to go to work at the office. It's my new all-in-one lipcare product replacing regular lip balm for moisturizing and lip gloss for colour. I love it!
Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum
jenx3989 2/9/2011 12:58:00 PM
I'm 39, Asian with some wrinkles on my forehead and around my eyes. I've been using this for the past few weeks and my forehead was breaking out into acne. The silicones block pores. So I would not recommend this to anyone who is prone to acne or with skin that can get oily in places. And I have not seen any noticeable improvement in the wrinkles. I dab it around my eyes to smooth out the wrinkles before I apply concealer and powder foundation. Without it, the powder foundation tends to crease and make the wrinkles more pronounced. So it's helpful underneath makeup.
Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller
jenx3989 9/27/2008 12:27:00 PM
I've been trying this product for over 2 weeks and have not noticed any appreciable difference in the puffiness under my eyes or dark circles. I've even put this product on only one eye to compare with the other and there was absolutely no difference. Even though it's not expensive, it's definitely not worth buying again.
